The church I have been going to lately is quite large, with a bit of a U shape. I am always in the same section, and even if I sit somewhere else, I will always sit in the back row, or at least the back 2-3 rows. NEVER in front!

3 or 4 rows back on the right side. I want to be able to see everything that is going on. When Alison was little, I wanted to make sure she could see what was going on.

When I/we began attending this church, our son was about 4. He and I tried out every section for a couple of weeks, just because he wanted to try it out. I ended up in a spot where the minister was full face on. Didn't care for the side views. At that time the pews were in a half circle. Now, the pews have been removed and the chairs face the pretty east windows. Minister is slightly to the edge of the windows. I am still getting a full face view of the speaker.
ETA: I sit midway up the section.

At my old church, we moved around. We knew everyone (tiny church) and we like to sit with different people.
At our current church, we’re part of the deaf ministry so we always sit in the same spot, which is with the deaf, near the interpreter.

our small church meets in the social hall.. there is a row of chairs against the wall.. where our tiny choir sits. so I sit with back to the wall, next to a fridge. it is all pretty informal.. we have a large sanctuary that is unusable due to wind and water damage.

When we attended church, we always sat in the back left corner. It was a quick escape to the kids' quiet room.

When the kids got old enough to pay attention, we sat up front because it was easier for them to see and therefore to truly pay attention.
After they were older, we usually sat off to one side or the other, midway back.
I will never forget the time we went to a church and were told to move because we were sitting in So and So's favorite seat. My dh said, "No problem" and we got up and walked out, never to return.

Behind the piano. Which makes sense, because I am, after all, the pianist. In our old sanctuary, I usually sat in the front pew whem I wasn't playing because that's where I put my kids.

My old church always on the left middle side about 3 rows from the back.. or somewhere in that area.
My church now is HUGE.. I sit up in the balcony on the right side.. usually never in the same place as there are so many people.. but in the general area. I like upstairs.. it's easier to see everything.
I once had a pastor in my old church that requested once for everyone to move to a different seat. Yeah, that didn't go over to well. Most people moved one or two seats to their left or right. HAHAHA

In church, as in most places, I like to be in the back where I can see the entire room and also sneak out quickly. I don't love having people behind me.

When we did go we tried to hide as far back as possible. It worked for us, until the day that we got noticed. That was our last day at church.

Right section, on the center aisle, about halfway down. I can see the priest from there. DH prefers the back 3-4 rows on the left, but I can't see a thing from there. He only sits there now when I don't attend services.

We typically sit in the same general area, although which area has changed over the years. I used to know pretty much everyone in the church, not so much anymore.
Here’s a little story. This Sunday we went to the Wawa near our church to pick up lunch. Which I don’t usually go there (that particular location) and didn’t really want to this time. While I was waiting for my order, another lady came in. She sits behind me in church, but until now we haven’t had opportunity to say more than hello and “what’s your name again?”
But we exchanged a hug and started chatting. It started out “sorry I don’t know your name...” she says I promise I’ll remember yours, I say “I’ll TRY”, she laughs and says “me too.”
Then she excitedly says, “guess what I’m hoping to start a grief share group at church!”
Me: Ummmm, we don’t know each other’s story... (Feeling compassion and legit wondering why nobody has told me about this woman)
Her: ? ? ?
Me: I don’t know your story.
Her: my husband died in _____, grief share is... (starts explaining)
Me: I’m so sorry. yes I know grief share well, it’s been very helpful to me. My husband died in 2015.
Her: I’m so sorry. Hey!!! Maybe we could do it together.
I told her not right now at least (I had prayed and looked into starting it myself, but at the time I wasn’t in a place where I could carry the emotional burden of so many others. And I just realized why I didn’t already hear about her. One of the pastors had started calling me every time someone had a loss, whether I knew them or not. I asked him to stop for the same reason.)
By the time we walked out of the store a few minutes later, we agreed God hooked us up and had exchanged names to connect on FB.

I always sit in the back row of any place I'm in. Or almost the back row. At my current church I sit in the back right. It's a small church and we have padded chairs instead of pews so they can be moved around. So even when I'm in the back row there are people in all the other rows in front of me so it's not like there's a huge gap. lol. Funny story about this... our previous pastor used to comment sometimes at the beginning of worship if he noticed that one side of the church had way more people than the other...he'd make a joke about all the left-side people being sick that week or something. So one Sunday a bunch of us decided to prank him and we all changed places... I sat *right* up front and the guys who always sit in that spot sat back in my usual place. A few of the diehard left-side sitters moved over to the right. etc. He got as far as "welcome to..." and said "wait a minute" as he looked around. hahaha

My pastor jokes about not wanting people to switch sections. A pastor I had growing up would use seating to pray for people. I imagine he could see in his mind’s eye, and pray for people row by row.

I like center, close to the front. I started doing that when my kids were small, because they got so much more out of it. And there were always empty rows in front because so many people like the back.
Now I like the middle.

Far left section, on the outside aisle, about 4-10 rows back depending on when we get there and how many of us we need to find seats for. DH's parents also go to our church and used to sit on the complete opposite side, but we've wooed them to our way of thinking and they sit with us now. LOL We also have some other family members that sit in the same section. Every once in a while, we'll all sit in the same pew, but we're usually a few rows behind them.

Always in the same section (middle and to the right), and either row 2, or 3, depending on the crowd. We’ve sat in row 4 before, but that’s on a day where it’s crazy packed, there’s baptisms and family members have taken those 2 rows, or were late, but that’s unusual. We sit with the members of our small home group.

When I went, it was always in the back closest to a door for a quick exit! Most people sat wherever.

I don't always sit in the same area. I like to make sure everybody has someone to sit with, so I look around until I find someone that looks lonely, and I sit with them.

Same place - in the altos' section of the choir, easy exit so that I can be crucifer and alter server, next to the sound system, because I'm the only person who knows how to work it. And it's not as if I haven't asked for volunteers to learn... of course...

Always in the very front row. I am short, and I sit in the front for everything--church, classes, you name it. I want to see. If I am behind people, I can't see, and I also get distracted.

In the back. Usually about 5 or 6 rows from the back of the church.
We sat in the front recently when our daughter was taking part in the service, and our pastor joked afterward that she wasn’t used to seeing us so close to the front.
