Yep and the Raptors just played them the other day with that player...sigh
Best decision - I feel for all the stadium employees who will be out of a paycheque until this has passed. They are the ones who will hurt the most.

Actually it does not say for the rest of the season it says until further notice. . I highly doubt that they will cancel the rest of season.

But that’s exactly what they are doing - suspending the remainder of the season. Not cancelling it, just suspending the rest of the seasons games and finals for an as yet unknown period of time.

Think about it - it is the Jazz’s center. All the Jazz Players have to quarantine for 2 weeks from now. And then each team that the Jazz has played in the past 14 days needs to quarantine for at least 14 days past when they played them. And then all the teams that played those teams that played against the Jazz have to quarantine for 14 days after playing them. And then the teams that played the teams that played the teams and so on. You get the picture.
The regular season ends on April 15. How can the rest of the season, and perhaps playoffs, be played when whole teams - multiple teams - need to be self-quarantined? How can any semblance of fairness prevail when whole teams can’t play due to quarantine?

Such a strange scene in Oklahoma City tonight at Chesapeake Arena.
The Utah Jazz were here to play the Thunder. The fans were in the arena, and the players had been introduced and were on the court awaiting the tipoff. (Jazz player Ruby Gobert apparently made the trip to OKC, but was not on the court). A member of the Thunder's medical staff ran out on the court and whispered something to the refs. Then the players and coaches walked off the court. One of the refs took a short phone call on the court and then all the refs walked off the court. The fans waited around for 30 minutes while some kids danced, the Thunder mascot threw half court shots and the entertainer hired to sing at halftime sang a few tunes. Finally, after about 30 minutes, an announcement was made that the game would be postponed and the fans should leave.
Supposedly, Gobert is in an OKC hospital and has tested positive for the virus. It is being reported that the Jazz players and Thunder players are being quarantined at the Chesapeake Arena. (I'm sure they'll soon come up with a better plan.)
I hope Gobert makes a full recovery, even though he was a jerk at that press conference where he touched everything. I am wondering how many people in OKC he came into contact with him. I heard he was with the team when they checked into their OKC hotel.
The hotel where the visiting teams stay is a very busy place and lots of Thunder fans go to the hotel's bar before Thunder games.

I was watching it go down live on ESPN and the announcers said everyone was trying to find a way to actually play the game, and if I remember hearing correctly, one of the three officials had officiated at one of the Jazz games earlier in the week and when that and other information was put together, they decided to postpone the game. I'm sure they wanted to play the game. The original plan was to have all games finish last night.

The MLS has suspended their season for 30 days. I’m probably the only soccer fan here so just adding that on to this thread.

We were going to the Heat game in Miami Saturday. It is the start of our spring break. We have never been to Miami before and thought we would take a nice weekend trip. I booked a hotel on Expedia non-refundable. Thankfully they refunded it for us. Now I have to wait for Stubhub to refund me for the Heat tickets. I think that is going to take awhile. And the guy I bought them from on Stubhub (2 months ago) did not release the tickets to me until 15 mins after the NBA announced the suspension. I was a little worried earlier this week because the tickets had not been released.

The player that tested positive is the idiot who wiped his hands all over mics etc at a press conference a week ago (I think) poking fun at this virus....what a jerk

I heard the ACC, Big 10, SEC, etc. are cancelling the remainder of their conference tournaments. My daughter is coming home from the ACC tournament now, she is on the dance team for an ACC university.
