It was just announced by our Governor he is closing all Ohio schools. No event is to have over 100 people. Hospitals and Urgent Cares have been turning people away. I only caught part of the news conference so I am not sure about all the new information.

PA is shutting down as well. My county has the most cases.
All schools public and private, preschools and day cares are closed for 15 days. They are also closing all gyms, the YMCA, and entertainment venues.
I’m getting ready to go stock up on food and supplies.
It is just crazy.

Not sure if every school is closing our local news cut to our Mayor in Cincinnati from the Governor. But it is my understanding that he is closing all schools. I hope my information is accurate but please forgive me if it isn't.

We have a dance competition at a high school in Akron in a couple weeks, I wonder if they have to cancel?

All K-12 schools are on a three week “extended spring break”. He has already told all colleges/universities to go to online learning.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — On Thursday, Governor Mike DeWine announced that all Ohio K-12 schools will close for an "extended spring break" on Monday, March 16 until April 3.
The statewide order closing schools applies to all public, private and charter schools in Ohio, DeWine said.
DeWine said that unless the child has another medical problem, the risk of death from COVID-19 is not very high, but kids are potential carriers.
"We know this will impact families," DeWine said. "We understand the sacrifice this will entail, but this is the right thing to do."

I'm very worried about feeding these babies on this long break. I know a lot of families that depend on food programs in the summer and childcare is a huge issue.
This is intense.

I’m in southeast Ohio — very poor. Our community is really stepping up and making food available and there are offers of delivery. Including local restaurants

I heard an interesting statistic this morning that 38% of health care workers have children. If they have to stay home to care for their kids because schools are closed, that puts a greater stress on the healthcare system. Not everyone can just throw their kid in child care as some have suggested.

My school district in Illinois is already talking with the Food Services Director to see about providing food for students with curbside pickup if we close.

Since this announcement was made, it’s getting really accelerated every where.
Some districts are extending time off until April 20th (to cover existing spring breaks)
Holy crap! I went to the grocery store to get a bunch of beverages for an event I’m helping yo execute in 2 weeks, and the entire parking lot was full, if you wanted a cart you had to wait until someone in the parking lot got done unloading theirs, and when I walked in, all the checkout lines were running and the lines were at least 10-12 deep with carts full!!
I was worried that someone would be ugly to me—I had 2 carts loaded with sodas and waters and coffee stuff—one lady did say “boy you’re sure stocking up” while waiting in the checkout, and others turned to see what she was referring to, and I said it’s terrible that I have to shop for an event at this time!
I was the only one that didn’t have toilet paper, bleach, or other cleaning supplies in their cart!!
I did notice that the had extra employees doing the curb pick up shopping. There was at least 1 shopper in each aisle that I walked down —I bet this becomes a very popular option for the stores—order online, drive up, pick up, and not have to come into contact with people.
