I think almost everyone understands now why so many public places are closing and events are shutting down. We probably all agree it is necessary, but that doesn't mean we can't be sad about it. What are you going to miss the most?
Right now, I'm really sad that the NCAA basketball tournament has been cancelled. We always have a family bracket competition. Our grown kids live far away and we are constantly texting each other during the tournament. Our group texts are a lot of fun. Plus, I love sitting on the couch binge watching college basketball with my husband and texting friends who also love college basketball. I'm a big couch potato during March Madness.
As I've said on another thread, my son will be graduating in May from law school. I made hotel reservations months ago. Graduation hasn't been cancelled yet, but I think it is likely it will be.
So what are you going to miss?

Travel. Astros’ opening day. Seeing our good friends with whom we play music.

Depends how long this lasts but I'll be sad if the Euros and the Olympics are cancelled.

So much. Tons of sporting events, a Cirque show we were going to take a trip out of town with my mom and brother to see, it’s likely to seriously impact DH’s triathlon season he already canceled a 70.3 in April and we use that to take a mini vacation once a month, my cousin had a bay recently and is in serious lockdown mode so I have barely seen him (totally understand!), at least Jimmy Buffet in concert, possibly others, the list goes on...
I’m sorry your son won’t be able to walk and you won’t get to see him graduate, but I know you must be so round, congratulations!
eta: Rent and if it goes on long enough, Hamilton.

It's too early to say yet, but I would say the gym and the theatre (or public events more generally). I have tickets to Hamilton and My Dad Wrote A Porno and I expect both to be cancelled imminently. Although it might quickly become restaurants and eating out. I anticipate cooking every.single.meal will become tiresome very quickly. Hopefully the weather warms up soon so we can at least be in the back yard a bit.
Edited to add: and with that post I just hit "Chatterbox" status. Yay me!

If my school shuts down (it hasn’t yet), I will miss my students. I love my class this year. I will be very sad if my time with them is shortened.
I will miss normalcy. These are scary times.
Also, my trip to NY in a month will most certainly be canceled.

I believe that by next weekend every school in Texas will be closed. Honestly. I have some classes I’m going to miss, too. I’m really bummed to potentially miss out on the entire last nine weeks with a group of 4th graders I love. They go to middle school next year and I won’t see them any more.

March Madness, American Idol, MLB games.
Going to the movies.
We have tickets to Jesus Christ Superstar for April - I'll be sad if I have to miss that.
Going out to eat.

Swim season. My boys worked hard, and all 3 made state for their club team...the last swim meet of the season, and the state swim meet have been canceled. Very sad kids.
Going out to eat, I like the break from cooking and cleaning.

I’m going to miss the freedom. Not having the ability to just go get an ingredient I’m out of or a component of a project. I’m also going to miss the internet being a fun place to go. I dread when it all becomes full of fear, despair, and grieving. I’ll have to turn it off.

I’m sad for my boys and all the athletes, musicians, & other kids who have worked so hard all year but will miss spring sports & other competitions & performances. Most will have future opportunities, but the seniors won’t. I understand it, support it, but it sucks.

My weekly crochet meetup at the library. For now the library is open but all group programs are suspended.
Farmer's markets, small community festivals, and local maker's markets. I was also set to vend at 3 small festivals this spring and that's not going to happen (I do them more for the social aspect than for income, but it's still disappointing).

My DD I won’t be able to go visit her now., but as long as she’s safe I’ll deal with FaceTime 🤞🏻
Other than that, not much. I’d like the opportunity to ‘miss’ my job a little bit. Quasi jealous that people whose kids are home from school get to stay home but I totally understand

I don’t really know. I work part time from home by myself, so I already don’t have coworkers and my job will stay the same provided DH is still going out on client calls (in a fully booked week, he only sees 17 clients). I’m pretty much of a homebody and don’t socially do a lot or go anywhere on a regular basis other than a weekly run to Costco for groceries and maybe every other week to Target for other essentials and to my chiro once a week.
I have enough craft and sewing stuff here to do projects for at least the next ten years, probably longer. I don’t go out very often with friends but do frequently text and talk on the phone and I don’t think that will change. Other than having my DD home with me, I don’t think a whole lot will change for me.
ETA: The people who say they will miss going out to dinner, why not just get food to go and eat it at home?

Two weeks in WDW, including the dining plan, two-week tickets for Disney and Universal, tickets for the new Cirque show, and my DS’s GF’s graduation. We’re all pretty gutted right now.

I’m sad for my high school senior who absolutely loves school and his friends. Sorry he will be missing jazz band, prom, college visits and likely more.
I’ll just miss seeing friends, going out to eat, and going into my beautiful new office and seeing coworkers. I exercise by myself outdoors so very thankful that isn’t impacted. I’m also missing travel already...

We haven’t been home to see family in quite a few years( DH is military) so we were going for a visit next month and that’s been canceled. 😢 We were all really looking forward to it! I think I’ll miss shopping for fun and going to restaurants.
My daughter is worried they are going to cancel prom and the Nial Horan concert she has tickets to next month.

My trip to NYC with my mom was canceled this weekend and a crop I was attending with a friend next weekend is canceled and I'm disappointed about both of those things. I'm sad I'll never get to see Beetlejuice on Broadway now since it was already set to close and we won't be able to reschedule. I'll miss the monthly girls' night out with my friends but honestly, I don't think I'm going to miss much else. I'm an introvert. I will still be able to exercise the way I normally walking on a remote trail or riding my bike. I might be singing a different tune in 2 weeks, we'll see.
ETA: I remembered that I am going to miss shopping for dd's first prom gown and sharing that experience with her.

Not sure yet because the impact to our current lifestyle (full-time RV) has been very minimal. We're used to no TV, we rarely go out to eat, we never attend sporting events. There is concern for us about the supply chain (fuel, etc.) but if we can get to that, fill water, and the occasional septic, we can easily boondock for a couple weeks or more. We are thinking very much about the types of hiking we do and limiting the inherent risks for serious injury. It's not much different than we've been living for the last few years, but that also means we don't have much more to "lose."

We are going to miss ECHL hockey. Our local team had made the play offs and we were so looking forward to playoff hockey but the season has been cancelled.

If schools continue to stay shut down my daughters 1st prom. Her boyfriends school prom is March 28th and her prom is April 4th. Both dresses are hanging in my closet so I get a little sad thinking about that every time I get something out of there. The dress for her prom she has had since December.

It looks like I will miss seeing my oldest graduate from college in April, and could quite possibly also miss seeing my second graduate from high school. But that isn't until the end of May, so maybe it won't be cancelled.

Having my kids come home or going to see them. If they get laid off which could happen I want them to come home and stay here. That would be my choice.
