My husband and I took a walk this afternoon and our neighbor a few houses down wanted to chat. Which we did, from a distance, and I explained that I'm immunocompromised right now and why. It felt very weird to stand far away and actually feel afraid of getting too close to her. Unless someone is living under a rock, I can't imagine anyone wouldn't know to keep their distance. Glad you could get out! I do think she would have walked right up to us if we hadn't put up our hands and stepped back. I'm not even surprised by it any more. Many people here aren't paying attention, even though we're in the main hotspot for our state, I believe.

I think walking alone or with people you live with is safe, as long as other pps have mentioned, we cross the street to avoid coming face to face with others.
At 1:30 this afternoon I texted 4 of my neighbors and invited them to come meet out in the cul-de-sac if they wanted to catch some rays with me and have a bit of a visit. We brought our own chairs, sat at least 10 feet apart. We were in changing groups of 3 out in the cul-de-sac, with me the only constant. We're privileged to have backyards for our personal use and a cul-de-sac to gather in. When it was just two of us we were on the sidewalk, later a triangle with me moving to our driveway. A neighbor drove by when coming home and brought her own chair to join us as one of my neighbors was leaving. It was really nice. It would be so hard to be confined to a small apartment with no outdoor space. I have many privileges in this situation.
Hugs to all!

I took DGD out for 2 walks today. We did not stop at the playground but I was surprised to see about 10 people at the picnic pavilion, mostly teens working on something, and several children on the play equipment. There were 3 guys on the tennis court and 2 kids riding their bikes around the parking lot.
Our neighborhood has a landscape service and they were out blowing leaves, which I thought was unnecessary to be blowing anything around.
DS and DIL took a long walk up to the school, which is closed of course. We went and did a porch pick up of a shelf we need for our plan to clean out the garage. They put it out at the end of the driveway and told us where to put the money.

YES!!! And you'll feel so much better after you do. Did a beach walk with my Tuesday walking buddy. We have both been home other than the grocery store and doubt we could be carrying it. Her husband is about 73 and not in great health, so she is extra careful (as I have been). We decided that about 3-4' was our comfortable distance from one another. We passed people on the trail and everyone was very mindful of #1, smiling and saying hello to one another, and #2, staying 6' away from other groups. And OMG, talking with a real person + being on the beach + sunny weather + walking 4 miles = SO much good for my psyche. That sounds wonderful! If I remember correctly, you are on the west coast? You should post beach pictures for us to enjoy! I love the beach and have never been to the west coast.

It's really hard to keep 6' at all times, but most people are pretty good at keeping 3-4' on the street. It's not possible in the grocery stores - the aisles are tiny. Today I was walking my dog, and there was a guy a good half-block behind me, coughing and coughing. I hustled as fast as I could to put more distance between us, and then he hock-pooeyed on the sidewalk - YUCK! For the rest of my walk, my eyes were glued to the sidewalk to make sure I didn't step in someone's spit-blob. Eew eew eew. I hadn't even thought of that before.

I have been riding my bike on our community trail that is behind my house. It feels like the only 30 minutes a day life feels somewhat normal. Stacy

Tons of people walking and jogging here as per the usual. You can't go outside most days without seeing dozens of other walkers. Some people were fishing today too. People were keeping a nice distance.

I would feel comfortable walking in our neighborhood as it would be easy to distance from others.
I’ve been spending more time in our backyard now that it’s warming up and it’s a huge mood booster.

I don’t work and walk my dog around my neighbourhood at least twice a day. I live on the corner of the main road through the sub division so I get to see a lot of what’s going on in general. I also never see anyone on my dog walks and the same people tend to jog every day. For the past couple of days it seems everyone has been out walking. I had no idea there were so many dog owners in our area. Dogs who are usually left alone all day are now able to go for walks!! At least that’s a bonus of the isolations:)

I wonder if any of my cats would be interested in leash training? Go and walk, but too late for the cats, they need very early training!! Yeah, I think the only cat we have that would even want to go outside is entirely too lazy. Boo would get to the end of the driveway and then want to take a 3 hour nap.

We've been taking our pup on walks, he's a herding breed and he's only 14 months old - so no exercise would mean my house being destroyed by a bored dog! We see other people out walking, but everyone stays apart. I've seen so many more families out walking their dog!

We have a lot of people out walking. Yesterday we did a hike at a waterfall and saw few people. Today we walked around a seawall. When we started there were fewer people. It got busy later on and we were happy to leave. Most people in family groups, couples or singles. There were a few friend groups. Some teenager friend groups. I think we’re expected our cases to double every day now. We’ve doubled the last two days.

I hope tomorrow is nice so my dd can go out for a bit. Tonight I went to the store and she asked if she could go. I said no. She asked can I just ride with and wait in the car, I can’t take being inside anymore. She is only on day 4.

My 6 year old and I have been going on a walk/scooter ride every morning after breakfast. If we see anyone, we wave hi or say good morning and keep going. Since the park is closed, we sit on the side of the road half way through for him to eat a snack.

I've been walking our neighborhood instead of my usual/preferred beach walks. I tempted to go down and see how busy it is, but haven't yet this week.

My cardiologist told me to cancel my treadmill test, but to get out and and walk and see how I did. ( I’m wearing a monitor). Passed a few people, but we all gave space. It was lovely out.

I think it js really important for our mental and physical health to get outside. In my area it is easy to walk or ride bikes without getting close to other people. I just saw a video of people waking and running in San Francisco and the sidewalk (or wherever they were at) was packed. I would avoid situations like that.

I’ve gone running everyday and haven’t changed my habits or anything but when I’m running I’m not near anyone anyways. I have noticed dog walkers/walkers will cross the street when they see me, but they also did that before. I always wave and move on.
I did notice 2 neighbors talking to one another. One was on his driveway and the other in the street so that’s good to see people trying to keep clear.
Unfortunately I went to the park so my nephew could ride his bike and someone was throwing a party complete with a blow up (ride a bull one). Tons of kids together and climbing all over the playground and a group of parents hanging out. Made me kind of mad, like seriously people! My nephew was not allowed to go on the playground and just ride in a different area where most of the kids were.

I say it's ok. I love exploring my (still new to me) area and will sometimes go out for the day and just walk/geocache. I don't come in contact with many/any people and it's enjoyable. I never know what's around the corner. I am trying to explore all 130 burroughs in my county but I also found out Pittsburgh has 90 neighborhoods just within the city boundaries!
My bf and I drove out about an hour north over the weekend and just walked a trail and geocached. So peaceful.

Yes, you need to get outside. You need the Vitamin D that will help prevent illness, especially for those countries who do not have Vitamin D fortified food. You can't keep cooped up in the home all the time this will literally cause a civil unrest. We as humans are not meant to be caged. It is not possible. That's why they have outdoor time in prisons. I like in a quiet neighborhood and I have a large backyard. I won't be bothered. I am planning to walk and have a garden. The closest anybody can get to me is like 36ft.

It has been cloudy/rainy here, but as soon as the weather improves, we are eager to get outside for bit. Our community is promoting doing some hiking in our forest preserve (keeping your distance of course) and we are so ready to get out of this house! LOL. I had the flu then pneumonia already, so I have been shut up for over three weeks already!
