I have served this past year as president for a mother/son service organization. I wish to reward my board members with a small gift that I will be paying for myself. I have 13 people to buy for. My budget is about $15/person. I really want to give them something useful and not just another "trinket" or impersonal gift card.
The organization does have merchandise with our logo on it. One idea is an umbrella - maybe with the idea of a thank you note along the lines of, "When it rained, it poured, but we weathered the storm together (referring to the past few weeks where we have had to absolutely pivot and think outside the box and do things that have never been done before.)
That is just one idea. What would you like as a board member? Everyone has really worked hard and I want to honor that.
TIA!

I also like your umbrella idea. It’s nice to have a couple in the house, one in the car, one in your purse/backpack.
I remember when I was in grad school, one of the companies there was recruiting us gave out free umbrellas. EVERYONE used them until they broke. Just a very useful gift.
My other thought is something that moms and sons could do together — assuming all the board members are parents (but they might not be). Like anytime tickets to the zoo/museum. Not sure what the age group is, so I could be off base here.

I like the umbrella idea, along with your thoughts for the note.

Your umbrella idea is great - thoughtful and practical.
The only other idea that came to mind would be a gift certificate from a local business for a future mother/son outing. Mini- golf or movies kind of thing. Would support small business in a tough time and give something to look forward to when things improve in our world.

I am pragmatic and utilitarian.
Love your umbrella idea. It is a gift everyone could use (no useless trinket) and the note makes it worthy.
Do it! You don't need dozens of ideas--you have a good one!
