Are you able to order more in case the eye dr. is still closed? I am trying to get a 9 month supply (I wear daily disposable contacts) just in case (I am so paranoid about running out of contacts). I am just going to order another 3 month supply on Monday, then again on Tuesday.
For myself, I was really hoping to get my eye exam done before I re-ordered new lenses because I can tell I need a new prescription. I wear 2 different scripts in each eye-one for nearness in one eye and one for distance in the other. Put them together and they equal bifocal lenses. My eye doctor did it this way last year because my reading lenses need can't be met anymore with my distance need in regular bifocal lens that are commercially available-although I did use those for several years. Basically it means I have to buy one box of each which means a large outlay of money. That's why I was hoping for a new script which means seeing my eye doctor and getting an exam when I run out (end of May) before ordering 2 new boxes.
Yes, hopefully they have someone working from home that can email prescriptions for us to order new contacts. And maybe they can change the date so people can still order contacts. I have been so careful with my glasses, and warning my kids to do the same! And after this, I will have them get backup glasses so if something like this happens again, we don't have to worry about what would happen if something happens to our glasses.
I will say that 1-800-CONTACTS says that if your prescription changes, you can send you boxes back and get new ones. You could always call and get more details. That way you can get more contacts just in case, then have an option if you get to the eye dr. sooner than you think, and get a new prescription.
Our contacts finally arrived today! I was watching for the mail! So happy!
