Just finished watching James Corden on YouTube doing "22 in musicals 12 minutes" with Lin Manuel Miranda and Emily Blunt. Highly recommend.
Trying to get my DS to love musicals as much as I do. He thought it was fun, so there's hope.
My favorite movie musical - Sound of Music.

I added a list of all the movies mentioned in this thread to the OP with where they can be streamed. I used an app, so hopefully the information is correct.

If you get the Broadway HD service, I highly recommend:
She Loves Me Kiss Me, Kate Daddy Long Legs (this one is the best)

Well crap half the ones on Prime require an add on for more $$ And that’s how they get ya! We’ve already subscribed to Starz for more entertainment through this. May have to add HBO too. HBO is offering some stuff free, but mostly just their own shows and a few movies.

Hair Les Miserables Hedwig and The Angry Inch ( I would have LOVED to see the Broadway production of this with Neil Patrick Harris as Hedwig, but alas, I did not....) I'm a huge Hedwig fan! I was fortunate enough to attend a night of the Origin of Love (20th Anniversary) tour with John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask (and assorted guests) in February. I never thought I would see John as Hedwig and he was amazing. He explained the origins of various songs before performing them and told stories about his life in Berlin and Junction City. He also wore an incredible black and white outfit that transformed repeatedly as he pulled pieces off during the show. So back to the subject, another vote for "Hedwig and the Angry Inch"! I also really love the original version of "Hairspray" by John Waters. It's not a musical, but the music choices are wonderful.

Hello Dolly - I bought the Prime version about a month ago when the Amazon price was reduced and I had saved credits from packages delivered more than 2 days later than Prime delivery.
Also love the Music Man remake from maybe 10 years ago with Kristen Chenowith and Matthew Broderick.

West Side Story is my absolute favorite. I watched it so many times as a young girl, such a hopeless romantic 😂 South Pacific The Music Man Singing in the Rain Oklahoma Mary Poppins The Greatest Showman Grease
My mom introduced me to old movies when I was young and I loved musicals I think I’ve seen all the old ones, just can’t remember them all. I remember whenever I was sick I got to sometimes watch tv and I would watch old movies for hours.

So I watched Bye Bye Birdie last night on Crackle. It’s a free app you can download on your TV. Bye Bye Birdie is one of the musicals that started my love for musicals. My 8th grade choir teacher let us watch it and I loved it. I haven’t seen it in so long!
I also did the free trial of Broadway HD and watched the Hugh Jackman version of Oklahoma! Loved it too. I’m originally from Oklahoma so this musical is very well known and loved.

I missed the word “movie” in both the title and OP and none of the responses listed Hamilton, even farther down the list and I was so confused! Growing up was Annie, which was such an important part of childhood that lasted well into adulthood. Now if I could only choose one to watch it would be Fiddler on the Roof, but I also love The Sound of Music. Rent is one of my favorite theatrical musicals, but I could take or leave the movie. I haven’t seen a lot of these listed, especially the older ones, will have to check some of them out! Too funny on Hamilton! I've never seen the show Rent live. I was supposed to see if on April 15th, but obviously its not going to happen now. They have already rescheduled for January 2021, so I'm excited I will still get to see it though. The cast album of Rent is one of my absolute favorites. Part of what inspired this thread is I'm missing Rent and missed Come From Away. I'm wondering how many more of my season ticket shows will end up being canceled before all is said and done.

Hopefully they will still come to your venue when shows go back on tour. Come From Away is supposed to come next season to several theaters (within a 4 hour drive) we like to go to, so hopefully we can make it to one of them. I just ordered the book, or a sample, I don’t remember. Several peas recommended the story.

Thank you for the comprehensive update!
I do hope you all get to see "Come from Away". It's so well done and I'm looking forward to seeing it again someday when the world is back on its feet. There are some performances from different casts and "story behind" type features on YouTube.

Thanks for this list. I've added Mama Mia and Jersey Boys to my viewing for this week.
A slight spin off, as it's not a musical, but this thread has me looking for The Big Chill because it has one of my all time favorite soundtracks.

SabrinaP - I just watched Rocketman - streaming free on Xfinity (if that's your cable company) @bergdorfblonde & pjaye -- I remember when this movie came out and you both tried to explain to me how the movie costumes weren't the originals, but that didn't matter. I didn't get what you were saying at the time, but now that I've seen the movie, I get it! I really enjoyed it and thought of you both the whole time.

I think that’s going to have to be a movie we rent soon. Last night I watched Miss Saigon on the Broadway HD channel. It was a recording of the a special 25th anniversary production. We saw the show last year in Dallas and loved it. The one I watched was great quality. Loved it.

One of my all time favorite movie musicals is Thoroughly Modern Mille, staring Julie Andrews, Mary Tyler Moore and Carol Channing. I’ve loved it since I was a little girl, but sadly, it is not streaming ANYWHERE—not even to rent or buy.

Sir Elton actually created a new line of that genre of clothing as a result of the movie! Very cool. If I could find a link, I'll post it. I believe he paired up with Chanel.
It did irk me that some details of his life were dramatized for the movie's sake, and the outfits were altered, but the public got a good idea of what really went on! Glad you enjoyed it.
His book is truly inspirational. He is a changed man since he sought out help. He was in N.A., A.A., O.E., and sought out meetings throughout each day. He still goes to meetings this day but doesn't need them all day, every day anymore. He's become an incredible humanitarian and wonderful father to his 2 sons.

Oh what about Yesterday? Was that mentioned? I don't know if it is streaming anywhere but I LOVED it... It was cute..
I need to watch some more musicals..
Another tidbit for those who have Directv.. they seem to be running some of the movie channels for free more often.. I just recorded a bunch of movies before the free week was over. They might be doing again soon!!
