It's raining in parts of California today. He assured us that the rain will wash away COVID 19. That's good to hear.... He also doesn't think it's a bad idea for his daughter to visit-she is a respiratory therapist in a hospital, and MIL just had cancer surgery 8 weeks ago so she is in no condition to be exposed. Please pray for me to last through the ignorance and stupidity.

Someone posted locally that it was safe to do stuff outside and not worry about social distancing because the sun kills the virus. Lol.

wouldn't that be nice if it did??!!
I would think the RT would know better then to visit. If she doesn't, she shouldn't be a RT....

There was a post on our community Facebook group about how social distancing wouldn't be needed if we would all start juicing and eating enough fruits and vegetables to build our immune systems up.

Please tell me the daughter disagrees with him Insanely, no. DH has three Best friends in the medical field and they're all completely underestimating the virus. I think because it hasn't hit very hard in the Bay area they just feel like this isn't as bad as it's being talked about. I'm just shaking my head at all of the stupidity I am hearing about.

Dh is an RT in Northern Colorado. They are getting their asses kicked. He says they are maybe a week away of being out of ventilators Patients are dying daily and we aren't even a hot spot. If she works in a hospital, her tune will change.

My aunt sent me something on facebook that there are no cases in Israel because they drink hot water with lemon in it everyday. The combo apparently kills the virus. *shaking head*

They need to explain to me why my Florida county has 334 cases - we've had lots and lots of sunshine and higher than normal temps. Keep getting more cases daily, including a 10 y/o Can someone work on a stupidity vaccine please? We'll need a LOT of doses.

DH's sister and his best friend just aren't seeing many admissions at their hospitals so they don't think it's so bad.
I had to raise hell with DH when he said SIL was going to visit my in laws!! I had to keep harping on it for days before she came to her senses.

If rain worked, we would be Covid free here. Sun one day = 3 days of rain and again it goes.....

My sister lives in Israel and I have spent quite a bit of time there. I’ve never seen anyone drink hot water with lemon there. I’m sure there must be some who do, but not any more than do here - probably less because it is such a small country.

Perhaps we’re overlooking the ultimate cure that the Greek father swore by in the movie “My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding” — WINDEX. A good spray of the stuff and we’re all good. 😀

Yay, if only that were true, because we just had over a foot of snow last weekend and last week it was -26C/-15F. Ugg. But seriously viruses can stay dormant for up to 2 years on frozen things.

How do you get it to rain in someone's lungs?
I mean, in some weird way, he may not completely wrong - I mean, say if someone with CV19 touched an exterior door knob - sure, the rain could shorten the lifespan and degrade the virus. Fine, I'll give him that.
But since it's spread person to person, through droplets - how would it kill that?
And the people that say sun helps - yep. Same thing in that UV rays may hasten the degrading process outside. But how do you get sunshine in your respiratory tract?

I thought it was a cliche when I read the title - like there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm sorry I'm wrong.
My 80-something Dad thinks he's safe during senior shopping hours. It's infuriating. We're riding out a potential exposure and can't see him, he won't even let me order curbside pickup for him.
