Said the woman clearly not from the midwest! It is basically a casserole dish (meat, veggies, potatoes, or some variation of this) all tossed in one bowl and eaten at every single Lutheran gathering ever had. it doesn't sound appealing It's for the people who take their entire Thanksgiving meal and mash it into one pile!

I equate it to someone who thinks cilantro enhances their dish and piles it on. I think cilantro tastes like dog poop so it is not a perfect meal for me. Everyone has different tastes.

I am not a fan of salty stuff. Even low sodium soy is too much (hello, cankles!) However, I will reserve judgement because I will put ranch on anything if given the chance.

A hundred times this! Such a great example. Although I think it tastes like soap. Everyone’s taste buds are different! And there’s nothing wrong with that.

I'm lucky enough to have a family that in general is pretty open to trying new things. We all critic new foods and make suggestions for improvement. If we've tried a bite or two and decide to go for something else to flavor it, I'm good with that. Whatever. DS would dip apple slices in a variety of sauces when he was little experimenting for flavor he liked. Of course, I was like go for it. (in my head, apples with ketchup - you are one messed up kid). My food related vent is actually the clean up. I've told DH to start at the bottom of the dishwasher as if you move the top rack or the 2nd to top rack water will drip down and you have to dry the whole thing. If you gentle pull the bottom rack first to empty there is very minimal drying. Then gently pull the middle rack, there is usually a bit more to dry here. But the very top rack always has standing water. He doesn't listen. I'm trying really hard not to care how he does when he is because he is doing it. But it irks the heck out of me. Why would you work harder and not smarter??!! I've come to the conclusion he is just trying to 1) make my head explode, 2) get out of doing it (and he doesn't do dishes that often). I stopped myself from griping yesterday and walked away. My mom is staying with me right now, and it drives me batty how she loads the dishwasher! 😂 I gave up that fight earlier this year. Totally understand. Plus no one can put the dishes away in the right spot.

I try not to judge how others enjoy their food. There are many studies that show genetics play a part in how things taste to each of us.
That said, I think I would have killed our friend Bill, if I was married to him. He eats almost nothing but burgers and pizza.
