So dh and his sisters just realized that their parent's 50th anniversary is on the 12th and they have done nothing.
We are the only ones that are local and have the ability to get anything to them for it.
We are doing an online family dinner either Saturday or Sunday and the thought is that we will "surprise" them with a virtual anniversary celebration then.
Any and all suggestions on how to make this special for them would be greatly appreciated.

Can you quickly put together a slide show of old photos of their 50 years? Maybe add some music to it that would be special?

What if you talked with friends of theirs, especially in younger years, and asked memories of the couple at the wedding or other things through the years and then put that with the pictures.

For my parents' 50th, I included a note in the invitations asking for memories and/or photos from their friends. I included them all in the scrapbook that was displayed at their reception. Those letters and photos were a big hit with both mom and dad. So I'd definitely do that if possible.

I can't find the link to a news segment I saw last night. The children of the couple had a life sized cutout made of their wedding day. The couple sat in chairs in the front yard while family drove by, waved, and honked. They were the cutest little couple.
