For me, at least. Others have success - yay! After waiting up until midnight to place an order 2 nights ago for Passover, this is what we got. They didn’t bring two items that I needed for my Seder plate and then this is what they picked and brought for our Easter Ham. You can’t specify weight, just that it will be between 2.5 and 12 pounds. This was 2.5 pounds - just. Just enough for a sandwich each for my family. Maybe. If we aren’t hungry. My dh had to go back to get the missing items and get a ham that will actually feed us, defeating the whole freaking purpose. If one more person says “don’t go to the store because there is grocery delivery,” I’m going postal! Passover during these times is stressing me...

On the Shipt app, you can enter notes regsrding weight, substitutions, etc. They also text you while they are shopping. That is too bad that Walmart doesnt have the same.

Bah! I had found that even before COVID, they were missing so many of my items that it wasn't saving me any time. I still had to go to a store to complete my shop. I haven't even tried since this started. I hope you have a great Seder and Easter, even with your tiny ham

I'm sorry. I haven't done grocery pick up since the whole thing started. I've gone to my local, much more expensive grocery store and they have had what I need.

You can also add notes/substitutions for Meijer and Kroger. Ordering is stressful. I'm glad your DH was able to get the ham you need.
I have been trying to get delivery for my mom and dad from Meijer for days. Tonight I will try at midnight. 3am didn't work. They are 1100+ miles away and over 80.

That sucks.
And that ham? Not being able to put in a smaller range that's acceptable? Ridiculous.
I hope your holiday is wonderful despite that snafu.

I had the exact opposite ham experience. I got the same one but mine is huge!
My experience was fine but they substituted several things for weird substitutions. Most I kept but they subbed hot dog buns for hamburger buns??
It was nice that it was completely no contact. We will make due with what we got.

Ok theres a big ass different between a 2.5 and 12 lb ham. WTF are they thinking?
I am so sorry. I was debating on staying up tonight and trying to get a Walmart order in, but I am now thinking I will just goo in myself.

That stinks! I hope your husband was able to find what you need. I am going to the grocery store once a week (trying to go every 2 weeks now) because it sounds stressful to do a pickup order at this busy time(for someone not used to ordering anything online). That's quite the small ham!

That ham is ridiculous!!!
I haven't done the order delivery thing because they're always out of at least 3 or 4 things I want. So DH is still going to the grocery store every 2 weeks.

That is a very sad little ham. I got my Costco delivery today....suprise!! they were out of toilet paper so the shopper subbed in paper towels instead. What am I supposed to do with paper towels when we need toilet paper? Unfortunately, we aren't really a paper towel using family so I now probably have a 2 or 3 year supply of paper towels sitting in my garage. I did grocery pick up yesterday and Costco delivery today. I have decided going forward, I will be doing my own shopping. I don't like relying on someone else to pick out my stuff.

I just can’t bring myself to do grocery delivery. I just don’t have enough faith that they won’t screw it up during normal times but during a stressful time like this? Definitely not.

I am sorry, but that is hilarious. That ham is even too little for the netting! My brother would call that bachelor sized.
I have chosen the no substitution option after my first online shopping when they made such weird choices. I don’t envy the shoppers, but there needs to be some common sense.

That's really just sort of ham-ish. No more than what I would use to season lima beans. Certainly not a meal size portion.
I think these grocery delivery programs are just overwhelmed right now. And with the grocery stock always being unpredictable, it can make for some less than satisfying results.
Thanks for the hamming it up for us though! We appreciate the laugh.

It took me a bit to realize that the blue object was the ham and that the soda can was for size comparison. Bet the singleton with ham on their order received a 12 lb. ham.
Seriously, what are we supposed to do?
At this point, I am worried. We didn’t hoard anything. Bought the normal 2 weeks worth of items. Now, we are at the point things are going to be depleted within a week or so, as we have managed to make things stretch. I’ve been checking Amazon and Walmart so there is no need to go to the store. No luck.
Did I ever get creative so as to not use too many paper towels yesterday when cleaning up after my sick dog.
Elaine, I hope your husband was able to work a few miracles.

When this over, I guess that I should thank Walmart for a COVID incident that will go down in family lore. I didn’t even know that they made the purple foil wrapped spiral hams that small. I’m bit even sure how one could spiral cut that thing. And it has a full honey glaze packet attached - it would drown that puny runt ham. That stinks! I hope your husband was able to find what you need. I am going to the grocery store once a week (trying to go every 2 weeks now) because it sounds stressful to do a pickup order at this busy time(for someone not used to ordering anything online). That's quite the small ham! Dh was able to buy a decent sized Purple foil ham (which we started buying on the recommendations of the peas 4-5 years ago), the parsley and arugula we needed & had ordered, along with 4 other things on our order that the shopper didn’t fulfill (even though he supposedly shopped at the same Walmart my husband went straight back to after receiving our order). I’m done with grocery delivery. Unless I get sick and literally can’t go out.

My daughter just started shopping for insta-cart and works very hard to get what is on the list. I've never had grocery delivery myself. I didn't even know it existed until COVID19.

DH is taking advantage of senior hours at Sam's tomorrow. If you are over 60, you drive up, hand them your card and list, and they shop for you while you sit in your car.
This is the first time he is trying it, so we'll see how it goes.

LOL Maybe the shopper was at the end of their shift and didn't want to lift a 12 pound ham! You'll have to show us how you prepare it😁

The woman who did our second Instacart delivery through the Kroger app Monday was great. The guy before her two weeks ago, not so much... I'd never done curbside pickup or grocery delivery until recently. With our kind of risk factors, we're just not going out at all. The first time we ordered, maybe the store was low on more items but we got some iffy substitutions. But we did get about 75% of the order so I was happy with it. The second time we got almost everything and the shopper texted me about substituting this for that so it was great. Will we do it after the pandemic passes? No way... But I've been grateful for it the past few weeks. My daughter just started shopping for insta-cart and works very hard to get what is on the list. I've never had grocery delivery myself. I didn't even know it existed until COVID19.

We have a big dog — so you can imagine... I used a dustpan to avoid overusing paper towels, then a bucket of soapy water and the bathroom cleaning sponge. my DIL had given me some bamboo paper towels before the quarantine, which are washable and reusable, and those are coming in very handy right now. elaine, I hope you send that pic to Walmart management. That’s unacceptable. Tell them it was a hamfisted attempt at best.
