Since we can’t go anywhere, I’m trying to accomplish a few things around the house each week. I’m setting weekly goals since I work FT and still have to try to get my hours in despite the WFH interruptions. So most things get done on the weekend. With 3 teens at home there is constant cooking, dishes, dishes, dishes, and laundry and clutter. It’s driving me crazy.
I just finished organizing the basement overflow pantry. Hasn’t been done (to this degree) in more than 10 years. Everyone just shoved things in wherever. Took everything out, wiped down the plywood shelves, found some contact paper left from a school project and covered the shelves, then sorted all the food by category and put in labeled boxes in the pantry. Amazing. It looks fabulous. (At least until the kids go rifling through 😀). That took 3 hours, but I’m glad to have it done. Next is the pantry closet in the kitchen. I had that organized at Christmas, but it’s back to being a jumbled mess. That will have to wait for another day. There’s only so much organizing I can do at one time!
I also cleaned all the white kitchen cabinets and sink, did dishes and 2 loads of laundry, and deep cleaned the powder room. Sorted the paper recycling and purged 2 bags of old magazines. Yes, there’s still a lot to do and still clutter in the house, but it feels good to have gotten so much done. Now if only it would stay clean for a few days!
What did you accomplish today?

Hmm... not much. lol. -- walked the dog -- drove to my church to walk around and see if anything needed to be weeded -- cleaned up the kitchen -- made dinner (frozen pizza... I worked hard over that one, haha) Honestly, that's about it.

I took the hedge trimmer and trimmed our bushes and cleaned up that mess. Then I washed the floors in the house, and in a 4 bedroom, 3 bath house, plus kitchen and family and living room, they are all tile or laminate, so it was a lot. Then I cleaned the bathrooms. I just took my shower and was convinced I had COVID because I was so tired, but then I remembered what I had been doing all day.

Not much all told. I took care of DGD for a few hours and did a porch pick up of a chair from the person we got our table from. I made a box carrot cake and decorated it like a bunny. Then I cleaned up the dishes. I generally do not bake anything nor do I do dishes, but I made the mess.
I tried to hard boil some eggs for dyeing but a few cracked. I filled the baskets for tomorrow.
I did 2 loads of laundry because I found out I have to go to my mom's for the week to take over her care. My brother has to go to work. My mom is severely depressed that she can't walk right now and she keeps getting up to try. I have to take her to an ortho appt and snoopervise her which I'm sure she will make me regret.
I read some of my latest book on my tablet and took a nice nap. This evening I will pack my suitcase to leave early on Monday.

I supported my friend’s business and brought a smile to some faces. She has a greenhouse. I prepaid and picked up a dozen Easter flowers and dropped off on porches of family and neighbors and one elderly friend I haven’t seen in a very long time. There are 2 left. One was for me and one I am hoping to give to another friend if I can get there before curfew. Logan said I would be selfish to keep both. Even thought I bought 12 and gave 10 away. I only need one.
My neighbor has a bunch of leftover mulch and offered it to me. We’ve been doing a lot of weeding today. If Goldilocks was weeding, today would be her day. The soil was not too hard, not too damp. Ideal for weeding.
Inadvertently made a donation to the food bank. My neighbors have been raving about this new pizza place in town. I called in my order and she said they are donating 10% to the food bank. So great! I was all excited to post about them on FB about their good food and generosity. But the food was just so-so. I’ll try again another time when this is all over.
Oh I also got some quick shopping in at cvs. Milk, body wash, candy. Also I learned that there are 3 auto supply stores within 2 miles of my house. Ds needed motor oil for the lawnmower and Walmart parking lot was incredibly crowded.

I work for a church so I had a few things to do in preparation for services tonight and tomorrow. We have been told to "close our virtual offices" until Wednesday AM following the service tomorrow morning and it will be nice to take a break!
Then I finished an easter egg wreath for my door that I've been working in the last few days. (posted photos in the April craft thread - page 5 - should anyone care to take a look)

I love having the floors washed but hate doing it myself. Fortunately, my daughter doesn’t mind and usually does it.

My big accomplishment was getting the church board minutes ready to publish.
Had some long telephone conversations. Read, wasted time on email etc.
Worried about a friend who broke her femur last Tuesday....which led to worrying about siblings who live alone and might have an accident.

LoL, not much. I finished two masks that I over-complicated. Of course I couldn't just stick with one pattern. I decided I needed a pocket and hacked together two patterns and fiddled and futzed until I came up with something workable.
Finally found the sewing box my great-grandmother gave me when I was about 10 that I thought was lost in our recent move.
Created an account on the kids' Animal Crossing game.

Not a lot today, but my daughter and I organized the attic a few days ago. It's small, can't stand up, but we keep offseason clothes, "memory" boxes, old quilts, coats, holiday stuff, etc. It was an unorganized mess of all in different rubbermaids. We were so happy to get that done!
Cleaning the basement this weekend.
Went for a 3 mile walk today.
Cut the grass with our new mower!

(((HUGS))) My kids may be messy in the kitchen and are leaving clutter everywhere (we’re working on that-it’s hard since the each brought so much home from college that is still being sorted and organized), but they do help a lot. They learned early on as they helped from the time they were toddlers. They all do their own laundry and they each cook at least one meal a week. Today the 3 of them have been working on organizing part of the garage and clearing out the back porch to get ready for warm weather, helping to spread mulch, cleaning a bathroom, doing dishes, picking up after the dog and mowing the lawn. I hate mowing more than anything, so it’s good. We’re getting close to the end of the college term and they all have multiple projects and research papers due, so it’s a balancing act.

I ordered a trellis online and it arrived a few days ago. I put it together, got it in the ground, and planted the clematis at its base. I transplanted a couple flowers and mulched the front bed. I came inside and baked a coffee cake (from a box). While it was baking, I swept the kitchen floor and steam mopped it. Ran the vacuum upstairs to collect the crumbs around the couch (my eating spot lately). I think I'll finish watching Unorthodox on Netflix this evening.

- breathing without difficulty! - wrote 12 cards for the neighbours, which I will deliver tomorrow - made a Simnel cake - picked up crickets for gecko & posted a birthday card, leaving the house for the first time in nearly 2 weeks - rang a friend on her birthday - organised the neighbours to sing Happy Birthday from their gates/decks to neighbour's son who is 11 today. They were supposed to be on vacation but it had to be cancelled so the poor kiddie had no presents or party

Oh my goodness! That’s a lot of weeding. Your gardens must be huge! What a lot of work. It must feel good to have that done. You deserve a hot bath a good night sleep.

I made a list of all the things I should be doing. Does that count? It’s very long and quite detailed. It wore me out just writing it so I spent the rest of the afternoon watching Better Late Than Never and playing Fishdom. I’m now drinking a glass of Chablis and pondering the meaning of life while quarantined. I’m not sure there is one...

We weeded all the front flower beds, planted some veggie started for the garden, smoked a brisket, organized and inventoried the freezer, made veggie burgers and cinnamon rolls for the neighbors, did 2 loads of laundry, swept the porch, and now I'm taking a bubble bath before I do my nails because I broke all of them.
