Good morning and welcome to a new week. Of course, this week will likely feel just like the past few weeks, but a girl can dream. To start the week I'm going to make my menus for the next 2 weeks. Tonight I'll make pork tenderloin and brown sage rice w/salad.
What's on your menu?
Do your best to try and enjoy some time this week. Though it's hard and it's boring or even for some, scary, try and distract yourselves w/some fun, as well. If you need encouragement just look here. I adore you, tribal friends.

Dinner tonight is going to be tacos or nachos. It’s a holiday here today, so DH is in charge of dinner again. We already have a menu for this week - ours runs from Saturday to Friday, as DH does our big shop Saturday morning. This week’s menu features many ways to use up leftover lamb roast!

The sun is shining and it is going to be in the mid 70's today.
I don't know if we've discussed this but many are thinking CA had the virus late last year but no one knew what is was. Many hospitals were seeing patients who thought they had the flu but tested negative for the regular flu. I was sicker than a dog a few days after Christmas with high fever, aches and a cough that I thought would never go away. Interesting theory. I hope I did have it then.
Dinner tonight will be sausage with leftover Broccoli Madeleine, fruit salad and a green salad for me.
ETA: Forgot my daily memes!

I hope you are doing well scrapmaven Tonight will be rechauffe from our Easter meal. Then I will freeze up the rest of the ham to use for later meals. We finished the wall insulation on the first bedroom this weekend. We have to wait to get our roof insulation in until next week (had to order), so we will start to make a place for daughter to move to basement to sleep so we can then start on the office where she currently is. I think it is still too cold to sleep in the basement (there is heat down there, but not enough!), but she says she will be fine with blankets. We will work on knocking down walls and wait on the ceiling until the insulation comes in for the roof since it's cold all week. The exposed bedroom is COLD!! cadoodlebug - that's what my sister is thinking too. My niece was real sick the beginning of this year, missed a week of school. Sister took her to doctor and had her tested, but no flu, no sinus infection, just a bad "viral" thing going around. But interesting that no one else got it in the household.

But interesting that no one else got it in the household. Yes! Dh didn't get it but when DS went home after being here Christmas week, he developed a bad cough. I really wish they could test people who were sick then to see if we have antibodies.

Good morning! Thank you scrapmaven. I think a 2-week menu is a great idea! I hope that all of you are having a fabulous day! I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers. We are supposed to have a terrible evening with storms. It is raining and windy. Tonight is a lot of rechauffe. So no cooking tonight for me. That’s also good because we are supposed to loose power and so if it’s intermittent, we can use the microwave. I have an appointment with Netflix and scrapbooking today. cadoodlebug any suggestions? I watched Murder Mystery and the 1st episode of Joe Exotic. And we have now been blessed with a tornado watch until 6 pm tonight. Isn’t that special?

I was also sick in the middle of January. I had a high fever (103) chills and a cough and they tested me for influenza B. They were pretty sure I had it but it came back negative. They asked me if it wasn’t the flu what I thought I might have and I said maybe a sinus infection. They put me on Zithromax of all things. My boys both got the cough and the congestion and they were put on Augmentin.

A beautiful, sunny morning here today. I made dinner at my mom's yesterday, and she has all the leftovers. So dinner tonight is still a mystery. We have a freezer full of meat, chicken, pork, so anything is possible.
Very interesting about the California experience. Glad you came through okay.

Hey ladies. I sent all my Easter rechauffe home with DD. She's looking very skinny and I'm worried her mental health is kicking up her eating disorder. She needs the food more than my chubby butt. My mom dropped off some pistachio cupcakes yesterday. I didn't have any because I was stuffed from dinner. But I may have had two for breakfast. The frosting....OMGoodness. It was like pistachio flavored whipped cream. I was in Heaven. I have four more cupcakes left and I'm debating forgoing regular food today in favor of sweets all day...not. But it's tempting. I have some gouda, apple chicken sausages. I think that will be dinner tonight. I might make a sweet potato too. It seems like a good pairing. I'm debating making up a huge bowl of salad to eat this week too. ETA: I was very sick at the end of December. Diagnosed with walking pneumonia. A lot of chest congestion. Antibiotics didn't seem to touch it. And they even put me on prednisone to loosen up my lungs which didn't seem to help either.

Good Morning ladies!
I am finally starting to embrace the stay at home process. I'm cleaning more and making a list of "projects" to work on until I am employed again. At the top of the list is to clean and organize my craft room/ office.
It's a high in the 60's today so I think soup will be on the menu tonite. DH also wants shrimp in the next day or two.
I don't do a menu plan, but do make a list every weekend of 5 or 6 options that I have all of the ingredients in the house to make and we choose daily from that list.
Wishing everyone a peaceful and productive day!

cadoodlebug , you may be onto something. I hope that you do have antibodies against Covid. I want my friend to stay healthy. scrappert , thank you for thinking of me. I have my video follow-up this afternoon w/my internist. I think it was a new med that my neuro-gi prescribed. destined2bmom , you can't have a tornado. If your house lands in a community full of munchkins you'll have real trouble social distancing. Also, you don't know where the wicked witch of the west has flown to recently. desertgirl's arrows might not be fast enough to catch her. Stay safe.

But interesting that no one else got it in the household. I really wish they could test people who were sick then to see if we have antibodies. We know a few people thinking they had it in January, one was even on a ventilator for two days, but it wasn't contagious in the same way. cadoodlebug, someone was talking about testing everyone for antibodies as a control in opening up things again to avoid another jump in cases. If you have the antibodies, no need to wear a mask or limit exposure. If you don't have the antibodies, continue wearing masks, etc. I have beets to use up so will make a borscht like soup for dinner. There are plenty of leftovers for the kids if they aren't interested.

We were fortunate yesterday with the bad weather. Semi sunny today.
Today will be leftover Easter dinner. I will fry some ham in butter and brown sugar, cheesy potatoes, deviled eggs and I think I will have frozen broccoli. No-sugar added dirt dessert to top it off.
I look forward to ham dinner leftovers for at least two meals. The ham will be sectioned off and put in the freezer for instant pot black eyed peas and bean soup.
Wishing you and your loved ones all stay well and stay safe.

And we have now been blessed with a tornado watch until 6 pm tonight. Isn’t that special? Yikes! Be safe! As far as what to watch, you didn't mention if you have Prime too but these were my original suggestions on the What to watch on Netflix/Prime thread: The Crown Body Guard Bloodline Collateral Prime: The Night Manager Bosch Sneaky Pete Mrs. Maisel Jack Ryan The Americans (older) Six Feet Under (older) someone was talking about testing everyone for antibodies as a control in opening up things again to avoid another jump in cases. If you have the antibodies, no need to wear a mask or limit exposure. If you don't have the antibodies, continue wearing masks, etc. The only problem I see with that is other people might not get the word that those who are allowed out is because the have antibodies. It's kind of a mob mentality in thinking *well heck, if they are allowed to go back to their old life, why can't I go back to my life too.* KWIM?

Finally! It's the debut of tater tot casserole at my house. I admit it did involve an unnecessary trip to the store. I was out to the recycle center this morning because I hadn't done that trip in a month and there was a grocery store right next door and they had tater tots. I have fruit as a side dish.
scrapmaven, continue to rest and take care of yourself and many thanks for the encouragement you share with each of us every day.
jeremysgirl, thanks! Now I'm obsessed with thoughts of pistachio cupcakes. That sounds divine!
destined2bmom, good luck with your weather. We dodged the big storms last night.
I'm back to school today after our spring break. HA! I have a Google faculty meeting this afternoon and I've been doing school work this morning.

For our dining pleasure this evening we will be enjoying white fish and French fries.........
The ground is covered with snow and we have a high of 28 today. Besides social distancing it’s depressing to see the tulip leaves barely above the snow out front.........
Happy Monday Everybody!

The arrows voted already. So be it. They have the rest of the day off and are preparing to launch themselves on Taco Tuesday. Each tribe member will receive an arrow so that she can follow scrapmaven's instructions to do something nice for ourselves. Please use them as you see fit, but be careful of the sharp tips. They did bathe on Saturday night in the ole gray tub. Cheeseburgers, mac and cheese, spinach, more strawberry rhubarb pie. I don't have a special recipe for that pie. It's always trial and error with rhubarb and strawberries because of the water they contain. It may not set up right so we really are eating cobbler. Dh grew up in rhubarb country so we eat that pie in the spring. I grew up in cactus country and we ain't never gonna eat cactus pie, speaking of sharp tips! Thanks for the thread. WE ADORE YOU, TOO, MISS COOL HONCHO.

And I watched a comedy movie on Netflix that I think you would like, if you didn’t see it at the movies. It was released in August. It’s called Murder Mystery with Jennifer Anniston and Adam Sandler.

Hello tribe, please all keep safe and well. Hubby installed my new oven this afternoon just after it was delivered. Unfortunately I forgot to take chicken out of the freezer earlier so we had cheese and crackers for dinner. I am testing my new oven by baking a coconut cake instead

Kind of sorry I didn’t get a ham for Easter. I love scalloped potatoes & ham afterwards. cadoodlebug I’ve looked into donating my blood to see if I have antibodies. They’re asking for blood for studies. I had a lot of symptoms when I returned from Italy. While there I had pink eye symptoms. I thought it was due to my contacts but now who knows. Anyway they will only take it if you’ve had a positive corona test and are symptom free. I couldn’t get a test when I returned. So I’m not sure when we will be able to get checked. I remember in the fall last year lots of people coming in with respiratory illnesses with long lasting coughs. People came to work with it. It was going around the schools & daycares too. destined2bmom I hope the tornadoes stay away Had to make masks for dd’s bff & SO in Denver. They can’t go out without one and can’t find any. Did it before we lose power with the 40-60 mph winds we are supposed to get. Dinner can be any number of things. I don’t feel like making any though. Definitely have veggies that need to be used up though.

Happy Monday! All the rain missed us yesterday, but the front has come through and we have beautiful weather today (only 62). Thinking of everyone who was in the path of the storms yesterday. Checked in with my sister in North Mississippi and they have no damage, just no power since 10:45 last night. That huge double twister in the southern part of the state went right through where DH grew up. No family there any longer, but his family is to the north and to the south of that path. His family isn't good about staying in contact, so we are operating on the theory that no news is good news . cadoodlebug - I read about that theory as well. I'm beginning to wonder if DD didn't have a mild case of it this winter. She was at four conventions in Jan/Feb; Tampa, Miami and two in NYC. The last one was just before the outbreaks there. She was sick in the midst of all that with fever and coughing. Didn't have flu or strep. I wonder how long before the antibodies test will be available? paget - thanks for the dinner idea! I've got 3 bell peppers that need to be used in the next few days, as well as some steak tips in the freezer. A fajita sheet pan dinner just made my menu list! Dinner tonight will be rechauffe. There is some coq au vin from Easter, as well as mashed potatoes and some spaghetti sauce for dinner and angel food cake for dessert. After spending most of the day in the kitchen yesterday, I feel like I've been run over by a mac truck, so everyone is on their own. Definitely out of practice for cooking big meals.

Hello, everyone! My yard project has had me occupied all day every day but on Mondays it's laundry and house cleaning. I'm not sure it's a better deal but at least I can get to the computer earlier.
No Easter leftovers in our house as it was just DH and me. The chuck roast with potatoes and carrots was so good we ate it all. Before you think we have a GIANT appetite, I should note that I cut the roast in half when I get home from the store and cook half and freeze the other one. Dinner tonight will be hamburger steaks on the grill with peppers and onions, baked potatoes and a green salad.
Sending all of you healthy and happy thoughts for the coming week!

I've been using a mask from Kaiser but there is a woman making them in our neighborhood. She is following the CDC guidelines and charges $15. She is donating the money to her church's food bank so I gladly ordered one this morning. It's in a nice floral print. I figure it will also help against my allergies which ramp up right about now.
