I made lemon coconut pull apart bread from the How Sweet Eats blog. It sounded so good. But it was a lot of work and came out meh. The bread part was too dense and heavy. And the lemon/coconut flavor wasn't strong enough. I finally threw out the last half of the loaf. Then I had lemons and coconut left over. So I made lemon/coconut cookies. Now those were delicious! 😂 Sounds like my sausage cheesy bread concoction mentioned above. I'm guessing they're similar recipes in spite of their savory/sweet differences.

Yup. A Pinterest healthy banana bread. Completely over cooked outside and mushier than mush inside. Gah. Serves me right for picking a random Pinterest recipe that just didn’t sound right.

I love broiled Salmon and Swordfish. It's one of my favorite meals. There's no fresh fish right now, so I tried using frozen. Yuck! It was so tough and dry and yet wet at the same time. It was so gross!

My only fail was making cup cakes using bread flour - then I mixed them too much so the gluten went crazy and they were not so good I'm so glad you posted this fail..... DSO bought me a huge 12.5kg (according to google that's 27.5 pounds) of bread flour the other day. I was wondering whether I could use it for muffins and cakes as well as bread. I won't bother now!

I made butternut squash and kale soup (because we needed something healthy after weeks of comfort food carbs) - I liked it okay, but DH took one bite and opened up a can of cream of crap soup to eat instead. Won't be making that again.

I made the same turkey chili I’ve made 1000 times. But the turkey was my local grocery store brand (which I didn’t think anything about because I eat lots of their stuff—it’s good quality). I usually get Jennie-O. Anyway, as it was cooking, it smelled GROSS. It smelled very strongly like turkey—not tomatoes or onions or spices. I thought it would be fine, but I took one bite and it was still GROSS. All I could taste was turkey. I thought I must be crazy, so I made by brother and SIL eat some. My brother said I was crazy—that ground turkey is ground turkey, but halfway through his bowl, he completely agreed with me. So did my SIL. We ended up throwing the whole pot out. And sadly, I threw out the other 2 packages of turkey in my freezer, it was that gross. I really don’t like turkey. I don’t like Thanksgiving turkey or turkey lunch meat. But ground turkey usually just takes on the flavors of whatever I’m cooking with. But this turkey was TURKEY. Blech. The organic ground turkey at Costco is really good in chili. I'll never buy Jenny-O again after discovering the Costco organic. What a bummer to have more in the freezer.

I didn’t take anything from freezer for dinner and then I decided I’d cook burgers since those would thaw quickly but then I over cooked them and ruined some excellent burgers. ☹️

Cheesecake. That was a huge fail. I either need a different pan, different method of baking, or different recipe. Maybe all three. Do you have an Instant Pot? It’s so easy (and fast, for the actual cooking part) to make cheesecake in the IP! The only thing that makes it a little tricky is having a small enough springform pan to fit inside the inner pot. Perfect cheesecake every time. There’s a bunch of different recipes in the Instant Pot recipe app.

br] My other fail wasn’t so much in the taste of it - it was delicious. At least I got one meal out of it. Unfortunately my cat decided to try it while I was in the bathroom. I came into the kitchen and there she was, on the countertop licking into the pot of shredded pork with green chili sauce. I was pissed and threw it into the sink. I made myself a cup of tea to mellow out and then noticed she had snuck back up onto the countertop and was drinking the water that I had filled the pot with. She is really getting on my last nerve today. She got misted with water and we are not speaking. Please use co-worker instead of cat. My husband laughed

My food isn't really failing, but everyone is tired of what I am cooking (Hey, I am tired of cooking) and so are complaining that they don't like this or that. I am about to go on strike and sneak out of the house and get some food and eat it in the car by myself.
