DD and her boyfriend are moving in with us on Sunday. DD has been 3 hours away at school for 3 years, and then spent a year working a contract position. Job is now over, and her boyfriend has plans to go back to school in the fall in our neck of the woods. So they will stay with us for a few months until jobs/school/new apartment is sorted.
And this smooshy face is coming with them!!!
It just dawned on DH last week that the cat will be coming with them lol. I could hardly contain my glee!!
I'd have a cat in a heartbeat. I'd even take an allergy pill every day to have one. But DH doesn't do cats, and I'm not fond of litter boxes. So pet free we remain.
But for a few months, I get to be a kitty owner yay!
(and maybe, it will convince DH we need one lol)

I predict that by the time your DD moves out, you will be hiding the cat in the closet so you can keep him.

That is a cute kitty,
I have 4 cats and litter boxes are not fun by any stretch of the imagination but the tidy cats breeze system is pretty darn painless. We have tried all sorts of things over the last 20 years of cat ownership and honestly this is super easy. I think the reward of cat ownership out weigh the hassle of litter boxes if you have something as easy as it,

well, I have friends that were "dog people." They didn't want cats. He was highly allergic. No cats. Ain't happening.
They came to visit us about a year after my daughter got her cat. About three days into the visit, my friend said to her husband- " hey- you aren't sneezing!! Is the cat bothering you at ALL??" no- it wasn't.
They adopted a cat a day after they got home-- lol. You just may have one yet.

The cat will figure out who dislikes him/her and will make that person a perch.

That is how I was able to finally get a cat. Daughter and her cat came to live with us while she finished her college degree. It helped that when we were married I had two cats so it was a return to the status quo for me. It only took 33 years! When our first two passed several years ago, we got another one within three months. Now she loves him and he pretends to be indifferent.

Love this- but kind of thought it was a gerbil or other cute fuzzy thing because it's so fluffy..

In my experience kids’ pets who come to stay for “a little while” sometimes stay for YEARS!
