I am the manager for a team of 8 employees. Prior to Covid-19, we all worked in the office 5 days a week. For birthdays, I would get a card and pass it around for everyone to sign and bring in some sort of dessert or breakfast or snack to celebrate. They were never huge celebrations or anything, just a quick impromptu gathering of the team for a few minutes.
One of my employees is having a birthday in 2 weeks and I'm not sure how to celebrate now that we are all working from home. Any ideas?

We are in the same boat - one of my co-workers is turning 50. Her daughter has sent out an "evite" for people to shower her with cards (evite is giving away 1 free card during the coronavirus), and our office is going to get a yard sign for her. We also have zoom staff meetings and one is on her birthday so we are thinking about wearing funny hats.
I'd like to hear more ideas too!

So far I've celebrated two co-workers birthdays by sending them cards in the mail and ordering a batch of fresh cookies from a local bakery that is only doing online orders. If you don't have one local, I used this local shop (I've tasted her yummy cookies) Cookie Take A Bite and in the past I've used Cheryl's.

One thing I do for family is send funny birthday memes. I have a whole album of them, mostly found on Pinterest. I have sappy ones, funny ones, dog ones, and a great one of a guy dressed like a unicorn. My brother turned 50 in February and I sent one every hour, ending with this especially awesome one: Attachments:
