I'm sorry your husband was on the receiving end of that.
I would say most but not all people are wearing masks around my suburb of Seattle.
I have not seen any hostility towards anybody for wearing or not wearing a mask.

Most are wearing masks around here too even though only a few towns require it. You definitely look more out of place NOT wearing one. dh works in grocery and they finally had to a police officer doing security in the store because of the many incidents they were having with people. People behave worse than ever when stressed I guess. Masks are required in PA, and the stores are very good about enforcing masks. Walmart has a police officer outside the store and sometimes goes in the store. That's good that your husband's store has a security officer. The employees shouldn't have to deal with bad behavior.

That's weird. I would guess 95% of the people i see at the store are wearing masks, and our state is opening tattoo parlors and bowling alleys tomorrow. LOL DH said only about 50% people wearing masks in the grocery store and this is in Denver, CO. Wow, that's crazy. I am in Denver too, but last week when I went to King Sooper's probably 80% were wearing. That guy sounds like a nutjob!

DH went grocery shopping today and gets very nervous about it. I'm sorry that a-hole was rude to your husband. Has your husband considered doing online ordering and curbside pickup? It is MUCH less stressful.....

DH asked the cashier why so many people with no masks and the cashier agreed.. not many people trying to stay safe.

I went to target and the grocery store today. I would say more than half the customers had masks at target, less than half at the grocery store. The 2 stores are about 5 minutes apart, so I don't know why mask wearing would be different. Maybe because target has all the employees wearing masks now, and the grocery store had zero employees in masks. I got an email from a different grocery store saying that all their employees will have masks and to please wear one when you come to shop, but it was just a request. I'm sure plenty of people are saying this is America blah blah. I would think that the employees appreciate customers wearing masks, and it would be nice if all these jerks could cover their pie holes to help keep the employees safe and the stores open.Exactly! So many people do not understand WHY we are all wearing masks right now. It mandatory in many areas, but courtesy in others. Why would you not want to be courteous and care about your fellow humans? Do you want to make this worse for everyone? And if their stores end up having to close due to lack of healthy employees to run it, who will be bitching the loudest?

They don't know it's about protecting others. Of course some people are just assholes.

I'm sorry that happened! I was in the grocery story today. It's mandatory here and 100% of the people were wearing masks.
There was a police officer outside of Target but not TJs. I wonder what the feasibility is of having an officer at each of the larger stores. I don't think it's fair to expect workers to have to enforce the policy.

I went grocery shopping at Wegman’s today and only saw 1 person not wearing a mask. Thank heaven! I also scored 1 6-pack of Charmin Ultra-Soft and 1 bag of King Arthur’s Bread Flour. It was a good day.

I went to my local Kroger today as I needed fresh produce & a few other things I prefer to chose instead of use the pick up option. I was surprised to see fewer people wearing a mask than last time I went about 10 days ago,
I wanted to take my mask off & explain that wearing a mask protects your neighbors, and as I take off my mask, YOU are now at risk.. how does that feel..

I'm trying... but he likes to pick out the produce. Any ideas of how to persuade him to do online ordering? I have to say I have had very good luck with getting decent produce doing the online ordering/curbside pickup. I guess he would just have to try it a few times and see how it goes.
