Most of the time I can get outside for my exercise, but we had some really crappy weather in March & April that had me seriously thinking about getting some sort equipment.
If we did, it would probably go in the garage. Where in the house is your exercise equipment?

DH’s man cave is the dedicated home gym, has his bike (on a trainer), treadmill, TRX set up and an assortment of free weights, bands, etc. It also has a TV, shelf with his sports memorabilia and a few sentimental personal items. We removed the doors for his closet and set up a desktop and shelves (Elfa) where our books and paperwork are stored along with some of his equipment.
Of course right now the bike is set up in the living room because we wanted to spend time together. But I think that’s the first time we moved it to another room since it was originally set up.
eta: Wait, I just noticed the “extra bedroom” option. Our dedicated space is in an extra bedroom. And I don’t really see floor plans with a dedicated gym option under a million dollars, which is a lot of money for a home around here.

I've turned half of our garage into a dedicated home gym, so I'm not sure how to answer your poll

Do you mean built to be for another use? I’m so confused When we moved into our 4 bedroom house, one of the rooms was initially set up as my craft room (it was a game area on the plan that we selected the option to turn into a bedroom with a wall and a closet). And we also initially selected a spare bedroom for his man cave/gym. But on our floor plan it is labeled bedroom.

We don’t have a Peloton but our full size, gym model, rear flywheel elliptical was in a guest bedroom that was my office/craft room. We sold it earlier this year to make room for the nursery.

In our finished basement is where our equipment is.
I used it more last year. I have not been good this year. I’ve done more outdoor biking instead.

We have an elliptical (and until it broke in December, we had a treadmill as well). It has been in a few different places in the house but the elliptical is currently in our "bonus" room. I rearranged in there a few months ago and really like the set up. The room has a lot of windows and I can look out the sliding glass patio door or the windows. I love exercising in there when the sun is out. I am trying to decide if I want to get a spin bike (I currently do the Peleton cycling workouts on my elliptical) or keep the elliptical.

To those of you that have them on an upper floor, is it loud/distracting downstairs?

To those of you that have them on an upper floor, is it loud/distracting downstairs? My elliptical makes a little bit of noise that can be heard downstairs but it isn’t bad. It was worse when I used the treadmill.

My treadmill is also upstairs and when running, that things shakes and is noisy! My treadmill is in my master bedroom because that’s the only place there was room when we moved in 18 years ago with three little girls. it’s a professional model and HEAVY so that’s where it’s stays! I recently converted an extra bedroom into my peloton and yoga and weights room.

It’s in the office. We had quite debate as we have a room that has a treadmill in it so one might assume that would be the obvious location. But my dh and ds use that room daily for soccer drill and they didn’t want to give up any floor space. So office it is and it’s fine.

To those of you that have them on an upper floor, is it loud/distracting downstairs? We live in a house from the 1880s, yet you still couldn’t hear the elliptical when you were on the first floor. I’d imagine it’s similar for a Peloton. It might be a little diff for a treadmill since you’re pounding the surface instead of gliding or cycling over it.

I live in a 1901 house, and do not, at all, likely downstairs neighbors, but I wouldn’t want to torture them! Thank you all for the feedback!

Our treadmill and peloton is in the basement. It’s always cool down there so it’s perfect.

I had no interest in an exercise bike until all the controversy about the peleton ad in the fall. So I started looking into it and want one! I am saving up before I commit to it. But it looks like something the whole family would use!
We would have to put it in the basement as that's the only place it would fit.
