My mom and MIL both have birthdays this week, they're both quarantined as am I, so I'd like to send them birthday/Mother's Day flowers in the next couple days. Any good sites? Would I be better off waiting till Monday and calling a florist that's local to them?

I would call local. They are probably hurting for business more than the big florists.

I always call a florist local to my mom. I get a better price and they use the flowers they have that may not be the prescribed arrangement. I tell them to make an arrangement using their own talent as floral designers and they never disappoint.

I would call a florist that is local to them. You will get a much better bouquet for the money, as well as support a small business who most likely really needs it right now. I no longer use any of the big online chains because I've been disappointed in the flowers too many times.

Totally agree with calling local. My son lives across the country and found a local-to-me florist who is amazing. I use her services for my friends now too. You can poke around social media to get a good idea of their style.

Yes, go local. I’ve never had good experiences using the national-type delivery services.

Yup, this is what I do with my mom too. Found a local florist, and I just tell her how much I can spend, and tell her to make it as beautiful as she can. This way I know that my mom will get the most "in season" flowers, and what the florist has very fresh, and I can fit my budget. This is without delivery charge of course, which runs about 10 bucks. Last year I said make the most beautiful thing you can for 50 dollars and my mom got the MOST amazing floral arrangement.

FWIW, I’ve only had good experiences using From You Flowers — sometimes really great experiences.
They send your order to a local florist to fulfill. I’m sure the florist ends up getting a little less money this way, but I’m usually sending flowers to someone in a place where I don’t know who is a good local florist...so this kind of covers that for me.
Also, they usually have a great Rakuten/Ebates % and they usually have discounts.
I’ve used them for holidays, funerals, and thank yous.

I send flowers to my mom on her birthday (this month) because she thinks it is a huge treat. I found a florist in her town and she's always been thrilled with the flowers she receives. Go local to the recipient!
