Good morning. Last night I made @peano's outrageous oreo brownies Ods tried one and said it was really good. I'll wait for my other guys to try it and I'll put some in my mil's Mother's Day gift bag. She's in lockdown at her apartment in her facility and she's in such great spirits. If she can be in good spirits w/o going outside or downstairs then I certainly don't have reason to complain. Dinner will be fend.
What's on your menu?
How is everyone doing today? May your day be fulfilling and make you happy.

austnscrapaddict, I didn't want to bump yesterday's thread, so I'll respond here. It'll be interesting to see what happens after states begin to open. I really want to see Austin, because my understanding is that it's a great city. My neighbor's son went to college down there and stayed put, because he loves living there. Plus, I love your city slogan.

Dinner here is pan-fried fish, with a lemon and herb butter. It will be served with green asparagus and Mediterranean rice. DH is currently at Thursday Night Drinks online with his team and I have a nice G&T. Dinner will happen once he’s done.
It has been a lovely sunny day here, and I went out for a walk, despite still not feeling 100%. I was hoping the fresh air would help a bit. After that, I watched some more Bones on Prime, and worked on my sweater. I have now done 4.5 of 7 repeats of the demon lace from hell, and hope to get it done by the end of the weekend.

We just got back from a long walk and boy is it heating up already! Sadly, I forgot my Fitbit but guesstimate about 4,000 steps. Today we are relisting the house we took off when the shutdown happened. There are many hoops we have to jump through as well as the potential buyers who will tour the house. Luckily the sellers had already moved out and we have it staged.
Dinner will be pot roast with potatoes, carrots and onions. And a side salad with romaine, avocado and radishes.

Good morning. I had a go this morning at baking my first loaf of sourdough bread. Came out better than I expected. Tonight DD will come for dinner.

DS has been working a ton lately and managing to get great marks on his last few assignments so we are having mushroom pork chops which is his favourite. DH is taking some stuff to DD tomorrow so tonight I am making Nutella cookies for us and some for him to take to her.
A few of the restrictions around here are lifting so I have been talking to Ds's gf's mom and she thinks that maybe they can get together for a walk soon. DS will be thrilled he has been dying to see her but is completely respecting her mom's wishes to stay away. They, (ds and gf) work at the same grocery store and manage to see each other briefly there but have not been together outside of there since March 13 so he will be very happy if the mom allows a walk.

There’s still plenty of southwestern casserole (aka chili mac) left, plus I made chicken stock yesterday, so soup is another possibility. There’s also a nice variety of fruit, so maybe a little fruit salad? scrapmaven , I went to Austin for my niece’s wedding. It’s a great town (and I got to meet a former pea while I was there, too ... Lindy) but damn, I have never seen such insane streets, traffic patterns, etc., in my life. I was really glad my sister rented a van and she was doing all the driving. I only had to navigate and that was terrifying enough. Also austnscrapaddict. Also, I’m tagging peano for you. peano , please check out scrapmaven ’s OP. jeremysgirl , both your sourdough bread and tonight’s dinner look amazing.

Thank you lucyg. I was posting while talking to dh and ods and I was very distracted. It's hard enough for me to put a thought together when I'm alone.

I couldn't commit to any plan for dinner tonight so I took some pasta sauce out of the freezer.

I am thinking BLT's tonight. A co-workers grandma has tested positive, she lives in a nursing home. It's all very sad since no one can visit and the outcome does not look good.

I walked with my friend this morning: 6 miles on a beautiful spring morning.
Now to clean up the house and do some reports for work.
Dinner for DH will be a rice and hamburger casserole. Tomorrow is grocery shopping day and I wanted to use up some random things in the fridge tonight.

I had a go this morning at baking my first loaf of sourdough bread. Came out better than I expected. It looks amazing! If I could eat it, I'd be all over master bread making during this stay home time. I have never seen such insane streets, traffic patterns, etc., in my life. We loved Austin, but the back in, angled parking and horizontal traffic lights took a little getting used to. A co-workers grandma has tested positive, she lives in a nursing home. I'm so sorry. My biggest fear is the virus hitting my mom's care home. Dad received a proof of life photo last week where she is holding a sign that says "happy and healthy" and we are crossing our fingers it stays that way. I've become obsessed with walking but bailed on my 6 mile plan for the day because it was so hot and I was thirsty. No, I don't take water with me for neighborhood walks, only for destination walks or trail hikes. I still got in just over 5 miles. DH is also obsessed and walking with DS in the evenings, except he is walking a steeper 3 mile loop and adding weights instead of distance. Dinner is going to be a repeat of the sole with salsa verde (Mediterranean not Mexican) that we tried a couple weeks ago. Rice for the carbivores.

Our first Marley Spoon box came yesterday (Martha Stewart version of hello fresh). I bought it because dh wanted to go back to being vegetarian but I didn’t so I thought a couple meals for him I don’t need to plan would be nice! I have ordered two meals for him a week and one for me. I made him one last night and one for me- I’ll have the leftovers of my meal (the other portion) tonight and make him his other meal with is a tortellini thing and balsamic green beans. Mine is steak with rosemary garlic butter, roasted green beans and mashed potatoes. Last night he had lemony spinach gnocchi.
I liked mine a lot. He didn’t like his so much- I hope he likes tonight more!

Harambe found the can opener. He didn’t like the ravioli and doesn’t want the Spam I bought. He also learned to do his own laundry today. I am not doing anything but dinner.

Yesterday he was behaving like a gorilla and I called him on it.

Yesterday he was behaving like a gorilla and I called him on it. Try being my nephew and his wife whose child DIED at birth a month ago...that's worse. You had your mom and I get the pain I do because I am not looking forward to my first Father's Day without my dad....but stop referring to him that way here. Maybe he is acting out because of his own grief.

jeremysgirl, that's a great looking loaf! Nice job! I made these today www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/recipes/a52078/crunchwrap-supreme-recipe/They were more work than regular tacos but kind of fun and different. I would make them again, but put some salsa or taco sauce inside too, they needed more zip. I made dessert today too, but we haven't tried it yet. It is a lemon blueberry poke cake made with cake mix, pudding mix, canned pie filling and cool whip. I never claimed I was fancy!

Delta Dawn, I just want to make sure that the holiday isn't triggering you right now. Your posts over the past few days have been concerning. Do you think that maybe you're cycling? I'm being direct, because I care about Elannah. Would a quick call to your doc be in order? Mother's Day is hard w/o your mom and your dad is acting out. It's not the sweet, enjoyable day for all of us. I get it. Just know that it's OK to do a quick check in w/your doc or therapist and make sure that you're grounded right now.

jeremysgirl, just wanted to let you know that I showed the picture of your bread to my husband. He spent 30 years as a professional baker making that sort of bread, among other things. He says it's a great looking loaf, and you should be proud of yourself!
