OMG if this one friend of mine doesn't stop BRAGGING that she is getting her hair done, a mani and a pedi today I am going to scream. She's in Texas (Houston) and I am in western NY....yeah I am jealous. But I am happy our governor is being cautious.

Your day will come. In the meantime, it looks like you might need to hide her on social media for a couple of days until the excitement wears off for her! I'm going on Monday afternoon for my hair appointment, but holding off on the mani/pedi for now. I'm happy so far with the way they are slowly reopening things here, but I realize every city/state is at a different point in this journey.

It's all bragging til she gets or transmits Covid. Very true. Because I’m pretty sure the numbers in Texas haven’t really dropped although I could be wrong. I mean I’m happy for her that she can get out and about but don’t keep saying it to me in a text message. Time to mute her

She’s crazy. Houston numbers are high, and not really decreasing. The only state that’s really showing both dx and death decrease is NY.

PA is slowly starting to open up, but I think I will wait another month or so before I get my hair cut. I want to make sure it's safe first. And I haven't had my hair trimmed since first week of Jan. I was supposed to get it done early April before our big trip to Florida, but our state was shut down. So its driving me crazy!

Hit Weezer! I know the feeling. I have elderly aunts in DFW and Austin all lined up to hit the salon. The same ones who say this is a hoax and Fauci is trying to force us all to have the mark of the beast. They're making me crazy.

The California governor just announced today that it’s believed that the California spread started at a nail salon. I’m very curious to hear more about this new statement.

Our numbers have kept going up too... but our Governor went the White House to visit Daddy and he patted her on the back and told her what a woooooonderful job she is doing keeping it contained & to open things up because the economy is dying... so she came back and opened up the counties that had been kept under tight restriction (because that's where the worst of it is). Our county has doubled in a week... I am just praying that my boss doesn't plan to open just yet...

I’m not getting a haircut til fall at this point.
If I remain employed my hair has to be long enough to put up for summer or I will suffer. If I’m furloughed - well who cares then.
I’m not sure I’m going to get my roots touched up or just go gray.

My dentist office office called to confirm my regular cleaning appointment next week because they are opening. No. Hell, no.
I am actually considering changing dentists now because this is so stupid, I no longer feel I can trust them with my health.

The California governor just announced today that it’s believed that the California spread started at a nail salon. I’m very curious to hear more about this new statement. Yep. A girlfriend and I have been getting biweekly mani/pedis for years. It was a really important "date" for both of us. And we, jokingly of course, "broke up" yesterday because neither of us is getting our nails done for a long, long time after reading with Gov. Newsom said.

My GYN office keeps calling to schedule my yearly appt and I keep ignoring. The thought of sitting in a waiting room and the exam with a mask is not really appealing.

Don't let it bother you. Let your roots and scruffy bangs be a badge of honour in the Pandemic.

Awww, I can sympathize. My hair is getting long, silver roots (okay, gray but silver sounds prettier) and for the first time in six years, I'm without gel nails. But I'm doing what our governor is telling us to do and we are in one of the harder hit states so I'm okay with that. I'm frustrated with people who think their mani-pedi is more important than their (or my!) health.

My dentist office office called to confirm my regular cleaning appointment next week because they are opening. No. Hell, no. I am actually considering changing dentists now because this is so stupid, I no longer feel I can trust them with my health. I went on Tuesday to fix a broken filling and they asked if I wanted to do all of my dental work in one shot so I didn't have to go back, so that is what I did. I'm going to have to go back in because one of the fillings feels "high" and has my bite off. If the government is opening, these places will need to open. They are doing everything they can to lessen the spread. My dentist assistant had a face shield as well as a mask. It is a one person dental operation and I was the second patient after they opened. The town they are in also only has about 5000 people. Waiting rooms here are closed, you wait outside for them to get you, so there isn't people in the waiting rooms as far as I can tell. As for the hairdresser? I'm sure glad that I suck at hair and wear mine in a pony 99% of the time and I have only highlighted it a handful of times in my life (and now is not one of those times)

My hairdresser has her business in the basement of her home (only room down there). She plans to open up when the provincial laws allow it. There will be one customer at a time. She will clean between appointments and wear a mask. I am on her call list for an appointment for a cut and colour when she is cleared to open.

I can handle a lot of stuff. Even the hair frustration for the most part. But people who talk about manis/pedis make me crazy. Just crazy. I know some people love them, but FFS, that is one thing you can absolutely do yourself.

🤦♀️ I would have to hide that person for a while. None of that is allowed here, and I would have a hell of a time reading about someone engaging in those behaviors and activities right now. I wouldn’t say anything, but their presence would be gone from my page. I just cannot. Also, did you hear about the manicurist that was eaten/drowned by an alligator when she went to give a client a manicure at her house the other day? www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1201751

When it is legal to do so per your government. Esp of precautions will be taken! And that you are ok with it is good too. I haven’t decided what to do when my stylist opens. She’s worried. She’s shared the 3 page front and back tiny print document with us of new rules and regs. It’s A LOT. I just don’t know how comfortable I will be to go into a big space with many people around. Cuz germs. 😒. I hate this. I love going to see my friend and have her prettify me. But I hate worrying about catching things.

Maybe I can make you feel better. I am in Texas. My beautician called me yesterday to say she was opening. I declined. I told her I'd come when our county has a decline in cases.

I know some people love them, but FFS, that is one thing you can absolutely do yourself. I can’t give myself a hot stone massage and a full leg paraffin wax. Those are things that are done in the kind of pedis I get. I can paint my own toenails, but that’s not why you get a pedi.

I'm hoping I'm going to see the hairdresser on the 15th - that is assuming we move down to level 2 at which hairdressers and more retain are allowed to open as long as physical distancing, sanitising and the wearing of masks (for hairdressers) is required. I definitely think caution is called for. At level 2 there are still going to be controls for us on numbers who can gather, physical distancing in workplaces of 1m and 2m when you go out and about, contact tracing requirements etc etc.
