Good morning. Today will be a fairly mellow day. As the days blend into one another I'm happy to have this thread to go to as a reminder that the world is still in motion and friends are plentiful. Dinner will be a fend night. I have a fridge bursting w/rechauffe.
What's on your menu?
In our week of self love I hope that you're continuing on your quest to find reasons to celebrate yourselves and see your value. You're not a Swansons Salisbury steak. Instead, you're a gourmet meal at Chez Foo Foo. Had to get a dinner reference in there, somehow.
Ok, this is your weirdo-in-charge signing off. Have a day that brings you warm feelings and smiles.

Good morning to you! Fairly low key day planned, with the highlight of the day being a trip to the local hardware store. It's a really cool one though, with all kinds of departments like china, decor, stationery, as well as men's and children's areas. They even have a lovely parrot named Hacksaw! The housekeeper will be here this afternoon, so a good day to go. The yard guy showed up with his crew at 4:30 and they worked until 7 pm. Sprinkler system working now, trees and beds trimmed up and cleaned out. All this yard work and sitting outside to escape the four walls is messing with my allergies big time though.
Was hopeful that DH would be back in the office next week, but he's decided to stay at home for another week or two. Their system is just crazy. Office divided into two teams, and they rotate going to the office....every other day! There is no way he can be productive with what he does and changing locations every day. He figures once they figure that out, they will come up with a better system. Until then, he's here. Mama needs her house to herself for a few days!
Thinking I'll broil some trout tonight to go with a salad. I've been eating too many carbs this week so time to clean up the diet a bit.

Hi, Weirdo-In-Charge. This is one of the tribe weirdos chiming in. My Dd will be over for dinner tonight. So I will have Jeremy grill some steaks and I will fry some fish. And there will be potatoes and green beans to go with the meats.

We are having Greek pork chops with roasted potatoes, green beans and tzatziki. One of my favourite meals.
Looking forward to facetiming with my dd tonight while we watch Top Chef.

Public holiday here today, so very mellow. We both went out for a walk - separately, as I can’t go as far or as fast as DH - and I’ve been knitting in front of the TV since lunch.
Dinner will be hamburgers. DH can grill the meat and toast the buns, and I’ll chop up all the things to go with them. Quick and easy.

My Tribe I come forward with good news! My dad has a surgery date of June 17. I will quarantine us until that date comes. No one gets as much as a sniffle.
Dinner tonight will be the hamburgers I didn’t make last night. We had pizza which was good considering it came from Pizza Hut.

Good news Delta Dawn! DS took the day off (his first since he came up for my birthday in early March.) The three of us took a 3-mile hike that was pretty strenuous but gratifying as we had lovely views of Folsom Lake from the top. I think I'll fix salmon for dinner with zucchini and a fruit salad.

For our dining pleasure this evening we will be enjoying something made out of pork sausage, either patties with eggs and waffles or gravy with biscuits......
I need to order some groceries since I haven’t gotten fresh food since the 6th and the milk is turning into a nasty undrinkable mess........
Happy Thursday Everybody!

Good Morning my fellow weird-o's :-) I enjoy hearing everyone's escapes daily!
Dinner here is just me, so probably something light, I've been eating so crappy lately and the scale is reflecting it. I'm planning a smoothie and salad day.
DH headed to the ranch today, I had planned to go, but a lot of rain is predicted over the next several days and he has a graduation to attend tomorrow afternoon. So I decided to stay home to clean, sew and read.
Enjoy your day lovely ladies!

jeremysgirl , great minds think alike. Delta Dawn , that's very good news. He'll feel much better. I have spent a lot of time in a heated pool at physical therapy w/patients who had hip replacements and they all say that it was much easier to recover than they thought. If your dad can find a heated pool in a pt facility it can do wonders for healing, because it takes the pressure off of your joints while you're healing. Woohoo! Next week I have to self isolate in my bedroom for an upcoming procedure and I'm going to use that time as an excuse to play w/my hobbies. cadoodlebug , that doggie meme is hilarious. sueg , enjoy your knitting time. I want to knit more, but I still have to learn to fix mistakes. I think I've mentioned that my mom was a really good knitter. She had a waiting list of people who wanted her pullover sweaters. I can do the basics, but if I make a mistake I'm screwed.
austnscrapaddict, 'atta girl. Do you have horses on your ranch? Riding horses in order to herd cattle is one of my fondest childhood memories.

We had chicken kabobs on the grill last night instead of subs. Now subs for tonight. Maybe.
I plan to sit outside after work to enjoy the sun and warmth and fresh air. Maybe with a cocktail too!

Today was my first day back to tutoring since late February. New/usual rigmarole to get in the building: mask, temp, wash hands...once I got to my desk there is a plastic divider between me and the student so I don't have to tutor with the mask. Whew! I saw 2 students today. The ACT has been scheduled for June, so my hours should begin to increase.
Dinner will be chili rice for DH, I think. I'm having a fruit salad.
Celebrating all the weirdos at the dinner table!

My dad has a surgery date of June 17. Such great news! I took the pup for grooming today and it was my first venture to somewhere other than a grocery store in almost 10 weeks. I'm a jealous and can't wait for a little outside grooming, too. Dinner tonight is spaghetti and meatballs.

I am going to make a potato pizza. Is this a potato & greens pizza or more like a potato crust with cheddar & bacon ? I’m envisioning sliced potato rounds as the crust. Still raining here. It’s awful. Not sure about dinner. I’m eating queso & chips currently. DH is golfing in the rain. He’ll probably eat there. If I’m still hungry I’ll just have some oatmeal.

Delta Dawn, exciting news for your dad. scrapmaven, I'd be surprised if they let him soak in a tub or pool until incision or laparoscopic sites are completely healed. Who knows? Each surgeon has different instructions. leannec, I hope you feel better soon. I made a pasta primavera that included the last of the fresh asparagus from my mother. I need to get some more soon. Found some other tasty looking recipes with asparagus. I also tried the Bud Light lemonade beer a lot of my friends are raving about. It's good, but after this 12 pack, I doubt I'll buy any more.

Hi Weirdos! DD made a fish and prawn red Thai curry. She even made the curry paste from scratch, and it really makes all the difference. One of DSO's best mates is a chef by trade and he has said to me "Why do you bother making your own pastes when you can just open a tin?" When I smelled and tasted DD's meal I remembered why. And we make a big enough batch to freeze enough for another 3 meals or so. I guess I'm the runner up weirdo-in-charge Vice Weirdo-in-Charge, actually

I’m making Nathan’s (kosher) hot dogs for dinner, and zucchini. Kid is still here. I’m the one who wants hot dogs, not him.

Chicken, rice, broccoli and cheddar one pot meal. A little out of my norm for dinners but I’ve been cooking dinner almost every night at home since early March.
