I had no idea they started in 1790. That was a great article.

That was a great article, thanks for sharing. KA's website has been my go to during this time as I've learned how to make sourdough bread and bake bread in general via their recipes and articles. Just yesterday I asked a question on their FB page and it took less than 24 hours to get a response to my question (why is my sourdough so sticky that I can barely slash the top before baking? the answer was to cut back some on the water). I also think that their baking cook book is the absolute best and I've recommended it over the years to all my friends. I have a couple of friends who regularly hunt for KA flour anytime they go to the grocery store..their reward is a babka or a loaf of sourdough

My son went to school in Hanover NH and King Arthur was just across the river in Norwich. VT. It was amazing!! They had a wonderful store, café, bakery and classrooms. The building was just beautiful and when you opened the door, the delicious smell of bread would waft out. Heaven on Earth!
If you ever get a chance, go there. It's a bucket list item, for sure!

I read that earlier, always have used and love KAF! I've always kinda admired the company once I heard about the employee owned part. They used to put out a great magazine, Sift, but I think the last one was late last year. It always has beautiful spreads, great recipes, tips and stories. Maybe you can find some second hand if your interested.

Watch their baguette vid with the employee teaching his son to make baguettes!!! 😍😍😍😍

I agree about visiting them if you have a chance. Gesine Bullock-Prado (Sandra Bullock’s sister) teaches classes there. She has been participating in their isolation baking classes/videos. I enjoy watching them although I have never baked a loaf of homemade bread in my life. 😲😄. They are a wonderful company and I have been using their flour for more years than I can count.

Thanks for sharing, elaine! I love KA, and their "Measure for Measure" GF flour is the best!

I have another reason to love KA! What you might not know, is they have a program called "Bake For Good". KA donated all the flour, yeast, dough scraper, and recipe booklet for my Home Ec classes to make bread...for free!! Their recipe is beautifully written and the students were very successful making bread from scratch. Each recipe made two loaves - one to eat and one to share. We brought dozens of bread to our senior center. Luckily, this happened before quarantine time and the students have been making bread during distance learning. They are just an all around wonderful company!

It’s on my bucket list too! We have talked about a road trip north sometime in our future as a family vacation and this would be a definite stop.
