Just finished up dinner...Moroccan couscous. Made it with cuts of beef, pumpkin, zucchini, carrots and cabbage. Just our small family. We usually eat off of it for a couple of days. Eid Mubarak!

Happy birthday, sueg! I meant to say it before. You’re probably asleep now.

I took a walk today. I didn’t get mauled by a cougar nor eaten by a bear. (Both possible in my neighborhood). I think it felt good. Try again tomorrow too!

I’ve been eating so much delicious but fattening food today (crepes, cornbread pizza, dumplings...) - I think I’ll skip dinner but I just put a vegetarian chili in the instant pot (it has quinoa in it!) that’s really good - served with all the toppings- avocado, cheese, sour cream etc. yummmm

it is hot here and going to get hotter this week 110 on Thursday! We are back to grilling to keep the house cooler. Dinner will be grilled pork chops, mashed potatoes, greek salad and raspberries. We are having rootbeer floats for dessert.

Happy birthday sueg ! Both of those Ottolenghi books are wonderful (I assume you're talking about 'Simple' and 'Plenty' or 'Plenty More'). I don't have them, but a friend does, and I've had and made a few dishes from them. Yes - 'Simple' and 'Plenty'. I had 'Simple' on my amazon wishlist, but DS2 told me when we were looking for the books in Dymocks during my visit that a friend had 'Plenty' and loved it, and he's the one who ordered them. I have been wanting to extend our menus to include more vegetarian, so it is a really good choice.
