I'm in desperate need of new cookware. I have Cuisinart and the non-stick coating is all chipped and just nasty.
Do they make a non-stick coating where metal utensils can be used and it doesn't chip?
Anyone have cookware that they LOVE? I hate spending money on cookware but I need some new stuff.

Lodge cast iron. Cooks great, can go from stove to oven is easy to maintain and you can cut in the pan. The only bad thing is that it can be heavy.

Cast iron would probably be your best bet. Season it, and keep it seasoned and it should serve you well.

I love my Revereware. I've had it about 35 years and it stills looks almost new.

Calphalon LOVE it. Got the mid-range at Macy's for a god deal. They also have a set at Costco, they just had more pieces than what I needed.

I use cast iron (assorted pans from new to vintage), and stainless steel. I also have a few Le Creuset pieces but they are pretty small volume and cost way too much $$$ for me to buy new ones that are big enough for my big family!! I have one small non-stick pan that I use for making crepes.

I love my Revereware. I've had it about 35 years and it stills looks almost new. I have a bunch of really expensive cookware, and more often than not, I reach for my copper bottomed revereware too. I have to admit, I love that stuff and you can get it for cheap, cheap, cheap at garage sales and church rummage sales.

I have different kinds. An old copper bottom Revere from my mother, a cheap spaghetti pot with drainer lid, Calphalon for rice, one (gifted) Le Creuset and one used, and then a couple of knock-off Le Creuset from H.E.B. I had the first Le Creuset for years before I used it because it was so heavy, but now I LOVE them. The food cooks evenly and doesn't burn.

Wolfgang Puck cookware. BEST EVER!!! I picked mine up piece by piece at TJMAXX and Home Goods stores. They clean up beautifully no matter what you cook, you can use any type of utensil. I have had Le Creuset, Calphalon, Emilie Henry and other quality cookware and prefer the WP to any of them!

Why not get plastic utensils?

I bought Calphalon 10 years ago and the nonstick coating is still perfect. I don't use metal on them, though. If I need to cut through meat, I do use a knife, but I make sure not to go all the way to the bottom.

We replaced some raggedy frying pans with Scanpans from sur la table. I've had them about 9 months and they look new. I use them every day and don't baby them at all. I usually use plastic utensils, but I also use metal. They were kind of pricey, but I was sick of replacing the nonstick pans every year or two.
I don't like cast iron because they're so heavy -- they hurt my hands to pick up (I have wrist problems.) The scanpans are a good weight. I walked through all the stores picking up the fry pans until I found a weight that was good.

I gave up on non-stick. I had a nice, expensive set, and it just didn't hold up as I hoped. Now, I use cast iron for cooking meat, and I have a stainless steal set that I use for everything else. I have had no trouble with sticking on the stainless, though I do use cooking spray or butter when cooking sticky things like eggs.
I prefer my metal cooking utensils. The set I received when I married in 1997 is used daily, looks as good as the day I got it, and works better than any of the individual pieces I have accumulated since.
