Good morning. Tonight we're going to have chicken sandwiches and tater tots. It always sucks to have to buy a tomato. We're getting our first buds on our tomato plants and I can't wait to use fresh tomatoes. During the summer I make bruschetta, because it's so much better w/fresh tomatoes from the garden.
What's on your menu?
We had a few brags yesterday, but feel free to share if you haven't already. Even if you have shared, go ahead and share some more. I wish everyone an easy, enjoyable and feel-good week.

I'm sitting at my tutoring job waiting for my first student. I'll be working T-W-Thu, just 12 hours a week. After being home for 10 weeks (and I loved every minute of that) it is good to have a place to go a few hours a week. I'm wearing a dress and makeup for the first time since March! I clean up pretty well. We'll most likely have leftover lasagna this evening. I'll see how I feel after tutoring and running errands.

DH got up at 5:30 to go play golf so I got up at 5:45 to walk because it is going to be about 100 degrees today. It felt good to be out when the sun was barely up. We'll have Sloppy Joe's with sugar snaps and a fruit salad.

Tonight’s dinner is going to be a lot more simple that last night - steaks on the grill, potatoes and salad.

Jeremy was hell bent on having a BLT last night so that scrapped my ravioli plan again. Third time's the charm, right?
I'm enjoying my layoff day today. Called about my car. Cleaned up my kitchen. Drank coffee. I'm watching Rocketman right now as I crochet. And then I plan a walk at 3:00 on the river trail with a new friend.

scrapmaven, I feel about lemons the way you feel about tomatoes. Not that I grow my own (I’ve killed three lemon trees so far) but I mooch them off of friends, family, and neighbors. I get really disagreeable if I have to buy a lemon, usually around late summer. For tonight, I have a corned beef that needs cooking, and half a rotisserie chicken that needs turning into soup. So I’ll do at least one of those. Not sure what I’m actually going to eat, though. It’s going to be HOT.

Hi Everyone! It is already warm and beautiful here. Today, I am planning on painting a shelf white for my craft room. I have a mess of dishes that need to be cleaned and I am also planning on organizing more of my craft room. Since SIP started there is another secret talent that I found out that I have. When I went to order die storage refills; I ordered from a company that I never heard of before. When I went to put in my address to have it shipped; I typed in my name and it went poof and my current address magically appeared. I don’t ever remember ordering anything from there. For dinner, the sloppy joes that cadoodlebug is having sounds great with cole slaw and leftover potatoes and broccoli.

It is hot here, too. In the 80's...I don't really care for that! We had to turn on the AC Sunday. We have the 2 bedrooms fully insulated, ceilings dry walled and a couple of sheets of dry wall done on the walls in one room. It's getting there, we took about 3 weekends off of working. Now we will try and put up sheets on the wall this week to get that done. I also planted my 5 large pots with flowers this weekend and some on the side of the house where we come in. I feel accomplished! And hot. And sore. For dinner, I am hoping for something light. We have leftover macaroni salad and potato salad and buns. Maybe sloppy joes too!

It is stinkin hot here, 95 degrees. Which isn't bad for July or August, but considering it was 45 degrees last Tuesday and down to 23 at night it is a bit of a shock to the system. So within one week we have turned off our furnace and on the AC. Crazy
We are having grilled salsa chicken, cauliflower rice and green beans.

Happy Tuesday! Dinner tonight will be the last of the pot roast and mashed potatoes. I plan to make some corn bread muffins to go with. The day has been lazy so far, but I need to get busy. Going to do a Peloton app Stretch class and maybe an arm class. This will be my first try at those. Looking for a viable option to going to my Pilates classes for the foreseeable future. Problem is that I've discovered it requires massive self motivation to do it at home, something I apparently lack. Foster kitten Emilio says hello to everyone! I typed in my name and it went poof and my current address magically appeared. I don’t ever remember ordering anything from there. Any chance you have the auto-fill feature turned on in your Browser? I do in Chrome because it's a huge time saver filling out forms online.

destined2bmom, I was also going to suggest that you have the autofill feature turned on. It makes life convenient, but you have to double check what you input. **GypsyGirl**, are you sure you want to foster Emilio? Every kitten needs a loving forever home and I'm guessing he's a happy pussycat in your care. Sounds like a lot of us will be cooking w/hamburger buns. Great minds think alike!

**GypsyGirl**, are you sure you want to foster Emilio? Every kitten needs a loving forever home and I'm guessing he's a happy pussycat in your care. He is DD's foster and only comes to visit once a week. That's all I can take. He is completely crazy with energy. DD has had to remove all the lamp shades in her apartment because he was climbing them, then launching himself off. I was peeling potatoes at the sink on Sunday and looked over to see him hanging from my farmhouse sink, just looking at me! Later when I was cleaning the kitchen, I had just sprayed all the countertops with Method (non-toxic). I cleaned the island and turned around just in time to see him sliding at full speed down the perimeter counter. Fortunately DD has quick reflexes and caught him before he landed in the sink! I'm too old for this nonsense on a full time basis! But he is such a sweet snuggler as well. He's going to be a great cat for someone...just not me!

Yep. Another hamburger household here tonight. But I do have potato crowns as raved about on this thread by a few sisters. We are also having a fruit salad like cadoodlebug . The berries looked good at Sam's yesterday when Mr. Desertgirl called to ask if I wanted some. I believe he is expecting a berry pie but I'm too busy to make it. I'll have to make it later in the week because he bought 10,000 large boxes of raspberries and about half that in blackberries and blueberries. Sheesh. I froze a bunch last night. Thanks for the thread. I love hearing about your garden treasures. We have another 10,000 deer so the only thing I can grow is basil in pots on our deck. But the farmers around my house grow deliciousness and many of them pick stuff and have a can you put money in so I just go there.

Happy Tuesday!! I looooovebruschetta scrapmaven I make it myself a lot but there is a local Italian restaurant that makes the BEST bruschetta. I’ll go there and buy a pint or two every now and then. Tonight is French onion chicken with some sautéd veggies and maybe some pearl couscous.

According to my family I make amazing bruschetta but it’s pretty easy so I am open to new recipes and stuff! I think they could be better. Or more interesting maybe.
Today is not an exciting day. I am doing cleaning and putting stuff away. I am getting hungry. It’s almost noon so I should get something to eat.
I charged my watch yesterday so I will go for a walk. Wish me luck.
Dinner tonight has to be fish as we have had oodles of chicken and meat. Maybe I will poach some halibut. I will make vegetables and maybe rice.
I am bored. There I said it. Off to clean up the lower level.

During the summer I make bruschetta, because it's so much better w/fresh tomatoes from the garden. Bruschetta sounds sooo yummy! DH and I LOVE tomatoes!!! You've inspired me to run to the store (mayyybe!) and grab some fresh basil and mozzerellaaaa! I LOVE home-grown "mators", but I've killed tooo many plants. Luckily, the grocery stores started selling the vine-ripe kind that are ALMOST as good. **GypsyGirl** ....Awww!!! Wookie at that cute baby !!! cadoodlebug .....LOL about that wooden spoon---that is SO TRUE !! jeremysgirl ....re: yesterday's post---I'm sooo happy you're okay!!! DH hit a deer a few months ago, and l was SO thankful he was fine. His truck was VERY damaged, and looking at it, one might think the person(s) in the car were seriously injured. Last week was verrrry difficult (horrible pain, (thanks to crazy barometric pressure and lots of rain !!!) . Then there's my Dad and his RAGE outbursts !!! When he gets SO MAD after simple things like dropping a remote, it is HARD to deal with and I am tempted to ask him to move out! I do NOT need to hear his RAGE, and DH gets annoyed with ME because it bothers me so much. I think he FINALLY understands that hearing those horribly angry outbursts my entire life was ENOUGH!!!! Who knew our happy, quiet life would be "interrupted" like this? We do NOT mind him living here---it's just his RAGE we hate! A few of you have asked before if he could go to assisted living----no, he cannot afford that 3-4 thousand per month. Although he was a lawyer, he never planned for the future financially. I wonder what people without family do? I had NO energy to cook the entire week, nor did I want to eat. I finalllllly felt better on Sunday (yipppeee!) and after a FUN trip to the grocery store with hubby (wow, those masks can be a bit hot---I feel SO bad for the employees!!!)....I FINALLY had the energy to make the lasagne I'd been wanting to make forever. But ---ugh---even though I simmered my sauce for hours and added all the usual yummy ingredients, it still wasn't good. On top of that, I used those lasagne noodles that don't require boiling, and the top layer came out GUMMY---bleechhh!!! Thankfully, the other layers were normal, DH and Dad didn't notice they gummy layer, and they loved it and thanked me for making it. I still can't understand why my sauce was so mediocre, though. ANYHOOOOO......... Mmm....I'm seeing several posts about sloppy joes----YUM! Maybe I'll make some. Here's a sweeet pik of Meaty giving his baby sister some sweet kisses

**GypsyGirl** , it sounds like you're babysitting someone's toddler. I get it. Kitty is cute in small doses. Kittens are really cute until you're exhausted. leannec , I miss your kitty photos, but I know you do, too. scrappintoee , my dad could be perfectly content during a conversation and w/in seconds he was blowing up at us to shut up. I truly get it. You're not required to take care of someone who is abusive. It's OK to make him move elsewhere. Your well-being must come first. Like me, your comfort zone was to have your dad screaming. It's really not comfortable. It's actually emotional terror, but we didn't know any better, because we were children. ((((HUGS)))).
Also, big hugs for Meaty and Sophie. Hi cute doggies.

Any chance you have the auto-fill feature turned on in your Browser? I do in Chrome because it's a huge time saver filling out forms online. scrappintoee, I so understand what you are going through with your dad. If mine were different, one of my siblings or I, or a combination somehow, would have been willing to have him move in or between us but we all knew he would change the dynamic of our homes in a negative way. It has been hard and a bit humbling for him to realize we love him, will visit and have him visit us, but aren't interested in tolerating his moods everyday. I have another little brag. I'm a really, really great trip planner. I love finding hidden gems to visit like the waterfall we went to in Greece last summer and always have a long list of restaurant to try wherever we go. I'm waiting for the sun to move around and leave the back patio shaded so I can finish staining the outdoor table and start eating outside again. Dinner tonight will be a riff on ginger garlic broccoli beef made with ground turkey. Both cauliflower and Basmati brown rice will be on the table, too.

You guys I went for another walk!!! The timing was perfect! I am very happy. I have to go after 1 pm and I did!!! Good for you. I walked today with a new friend from my weightloss group. She has hit her goal weight. I loved hearing her tips about how I can level up my weightloss. We walked six miles in 85 degree humid heat. I was sweaty as all get out. But I thoroughly enjoyed spending time getting to know someone new.

scrappintoee please try to consider having your dad live elsewhere. Seriously. Your situation is the exact reason why I would never allow my dad to live with me. Sometimes he gets crazy on the phone. And then I am totally grateful I can hang up and live my life in my home unaffected by him.

Hey Ladies! I'm late to this party, I went to the ranch for the weekend and we ended up heading out to explore part of the coast and some other towns in that area. What a fun getaway! Mostly just driving and a little walking, but felt so good to get out of the routine.
I came back from the ranch today and DH stayed another day or so. I had some yummy chicken enchilada soup that a friend dropped off. Back to cooking tomorrow....

destined2bmom, several of the craft shops I order from use the same billing service (Shopify? I think) and whenever I order from a new place that uses them, as soon as it sees my email address, it auto-fills all my info and sends a code to my phone that lets me authorize the order payment. Super quick and easy. Is it by any chance something like that? **GypsyGirl**, are you playing WWF? Send me a game if you feel like it. lucyg819
