But they didn't all eat it all. Part of that tribe was hungry before they went hungry again. And the producers can't legally let them starve so no matter what, they would have had to figure some way of getting food to them.

I think I may be done with survivor. The only person that I like is Jeremy and I'm sure he will go shortly. Watching Missy makes me want to put a fork in my eye. She is such a low life and a snake. The rest of them, are all stoooopid. I for one think it stinks that the ones who conserved rice on the other team were punished because their new team mates are greedy. I just don't like this season. I'd rather see a bunch of intelligent people who actually knew how to play.
The shows really suck this season. I gave up on Big Brother about three episodes in. I was bored to tears. Oh well, there us always next year. I hope the producers up their game otherwise their viewers will be zero.

I think that there also should have been a consequence for the people on the tribe who ate a lot of rice, but then went to the other tribe after the switch, such as Missy. They haven't had any consequence AND they are eating through the rice on that tribe as well!!
I say do away with this blood vs water scenario in future Survivor shows. I think that they should be one big tribe at the beginning and then split into tribes about 10 days in and then merge about day 25. OR have a constant switch up about every 6 days.

The PDA between Josh and Reed really seems to be bothering you Canadianscrapperp-this is the second week in a row you've commented on it. Personally I don't find it over the top at all, they are simply hugging and kissing like any other young couple in love, unlike the other couple who clearly had their tongues down each other's throats, who we saw last week. I think what's bothering you is that they are gay and that they are kissing. Am I right? It doesn't bother me one bit. I think it's sweet to see them so much in love, and they aren't anywhere near as obvious and obnoxious as the other couple last week about public display of affection that should have been kept behind closed doors. I noticed this week they were very much over it and kept things much cooler. Debbie in MD. My question to Candianscrapper was a question to her because she didn't ask that question regarding the other couples-therefore I don't think it was out of line and I refuse to apologize for it. It was just a question for gosh sakes! If she didn’t' mean it that way, then she didn't mean it that way. Fine. I got it wrong. I'm willing to admit that. As far as PDA goes-I think we all will have to wait and see how this "Blood vs. Water" version of Survivor plays out. Please recall I said, "I think". Last time it was death to be on a couple, and the single's ruled. Maybe this time, it will be the reverse and the singles will all be voted out and the couples will rule. That's what I love about Survivor. No one knows how it will play out because it is different each time. Just because it worked out one way last time they played "Blood vs. Water" doesn't mean it will follow that pattern this time. Of course, I could be totally wrong and all the couples get voted out again. We will all have to wait and see. In that case all those displays of PDA will come back and haunt them. I like Josh and Reed. You have to give them credit for the puzzle making part of the end of the challenge-they whipped through that thing like lighting and pulled it off perfectly. I haven't seen either of them say an nasty or mean word to anyone else on their tribes, back stab or any of the other horrible things we've seen other tribe members do over the years. I can't stand Missy at all and agree with the rest of you about her and her daughter. I do still like Dale and hope he can hang around for awhile longer, but I've already mentioned that. And I do agree that Natalie has surprised me most of all in such a positive way. She has really grown into her own person out there, seems like such a strong, independent woman and I like what I'm seeing of her. So far my favourites are Josh, Reed, Natalie, and what I've seen of Jeremy. The rest can all go jump in the ocean. And I do agree with the rest of you that this season of Survivor has been a snooze fest-I can't believe we are already at the point of going to the Merge next week according to the previews. By now I would have been much more involved emotionally in who was winning/losing and I'm just not. I think "Blood vs. Water" is a bust and I hope they don't bring it back. I also think what's really killing some of it is the one on one challenge (boring, boring, boring-while the teams just sit and watch) and Exile Island-what a joke!. So what happened out there with Natalie and Baylor on that night it rained with no shelter and no fire? That would have been exciting to see. How exactly did they stay warm, dry and didn't freeze to death because they looked perfectly fine when they returned. We couldn't even get a little footage of that? Not one little bit? Another thing is by losing two challenges we've lost the chance of watching how the players conduct themselves in the challenges twice in one night, instead of just once, since only two players are participating. Yeah, I admit it. I hate this season. But I love Survivor. So I won't give up on it. Debbie in MD.

One on one challenge was dumb, I've not really learned to like any of them yet. The blood water format is phony and dumb.

I do not like the Blood vs Water theme either. Not that I would ever go on Survivor, but I would not want to play with a family member.
So far, there is no one I like enough to root for them.

I think I'm sitting in a different place than most of you. I'm still enjoying this season. I love Survivor and while some seasons are more exciting and have more twists and turns than others, I've still enjoyed every one of them, and this one is no exception. I still really like Jeremy, Natalie, and the gay couple (forget their names). I think Wes might be okay and I'm not hating Julie. I really do not care for John and Jaclyn (mostly John) or Baylor and Missy. Keith to me is kind of a do-nothing. I see him nap and lurk around a bit, but truly what else. Oh, and then there was he threw Jeremy under the bus for no reason whatsoever. Yeah, he needs to go. Even though I don't like Missy and Baylor, at least they are playing the game. The same can't really be said for Keith. I'm sorry Dale left. For one because his departure removed our entire family of four out of the pool--he was our last hope. It wasn't a big deal though because there was no way he was going to win. I don't really understand why he was disliked. I feel like I need to rewatch earlier episodes. To me his irritation with the rice consumption was totally legitimate. I wanted to jump through the screen and choke Missy and Baylor over it. I can't even imagine what it must have been actually BEING there and watching the food supply you so carefully rationed be wasted away. I really like Natalie. Of course I actually liked her from the get-go. I liked her when she was on TAR. I don't know if I agree with her decision to volunteer for Exile Island. I think she should have kept her mouth shut and stayed behind to bond with her tribe. I think the affection couples are showing is a mistake though. Everyone knows they are bonded together, but when they show affection, it really draws attention to that. It's a big mistake IMO and I'm not surprised to see the straight couple doing it--they don't seem all that bright. But the gay couple seem more like super fans and seem really bright; they should know better! Okay, here are the links for those who are interested: Dalton Ross' recap and Jeff Probst Q&A.

I'm liking this season pretty well so far. The people and their drama always gets a lot more interesting after the merge. What I'm bored with is the formula - basically the same location each season, same challenges week after week. Remember when people would practically die from dehydration because they couldn't find water, there was the threat from lions surrounding the camp at night, and people would walk away from challenges with broken limbs? I'm glad that people are no longer risking their lives to play, but give away a few more cars or something to shake it up.

Soooooo tired of islands & tropical locations! Can't they work something out where they're in the cold? Shake things up a bit, ya know? I do like when challenges are mixed so it's not just brains or brawn that wins it, but a combo. And while I like having 2 challenges instead of 1, I am hating that it's only 1 person performing the reward challenge.

No, and it sucks that the people who conserved before are suffering now. Maybe they could have given them the rice in a locked chest & only those that had conserved before had the combo, lol. And frankly, why can't they be left to their own devices? The people on Naked & Afraid don't get any help.

What is with Jeff this season? And they should have given that rice to the players that came from the other team and told them they could share with the greedy ones only if they wanted to. That whole extra rice thing just bugs me.

I hope either Natalie or Jeremy wins and Natalie is my first choice. I LOVE people who speak their mind and Natalie does.

Well that will work for me, seeing as I have both of them in the pool .
I think Natalie is a really good player without her sister. I believe Nadia going early was better for Natalie's game.

They want to show a lot of skin and that can't happen if it's cold.

I agree that part of the reason for the beach locations is the showing of the skin, but I think it's more to it than that. I think Jeff has said they looked into colder climates, but it would just be too difficult for a variety of reasons. I personally love the beach locations. The worst seasons have been those where they went away from the beach. A good example of that is the first Africa season. I thought that was definitely one of the most boring seasons--everything was so dry and dusty. I feel the beach is needed for scenery and to keep the players refreshed and cleaned off. There was an issue with food in Africa. They had that really nasty murky area where they gathered water, but nowhere where they could cool off. They couldn't venture far from their campsite due to the dangerous animals. I really craved a beach location again!

Loving the discussion and agree with everyone. I'm sad that y'all brought up the Australian Outback season. That's the only season I've never seen! I looked on Amazon and am not seeing it available for streaming. Am I blind? Can someone help me out? carol

I did read on Wikipedia that to this day it is the most popular & most watched season (not to make you feel worse, but it's still my favorite!). Maybe that's why they're not streaming it? Figuring they'll get people to buy it? I did read that it's available on DVD. Maybe your library has it? It's on Amazon for $16.
