Okay, it's that time again.
Any great ideas to share?
Especially anything that could be ordered online & delivered?
In the past I've done:
Netflix subscription
Chocolates
Fudge
alcohol
Car wash coupons
Gps unit
Hot pepper sauce samplers
Okay, I need ideas!
For health reasons, dad doesn't drink alcohol, eat candy, or eat spicy anymore.
He loved Netflix so much that he bought himself a year long subscription & has kept up with it.
He doesn't need car anything right now.
He owns all the music he likes already. Can't send him to concerts due to COVID19 closures.
I already buy all the food he eats, so a special meal would just be another meal.
Doesn't want new pjs, slippers robe, clothes.
Has no outdoor hobbies. No golf, etc. Already has all the stuff for hobbies that he does do. Doesn't want more.
Isn't into photo gifts. Nor sentimental gifts.
Any ideas?

So far, DH is getting coffee beans from Monorail Espresso in Seattle. They ship, if anyone is interested. www.monorailespresso.com/monorail-espresso-shop.html#/I haven't thought about what to get my dad yet but generally, he likes wine, books or chocolate chip cookies. If your dad likes Netflix, what about a Prime membership? My dad just subscribed to Prime and liked the tv content so much that he cancelled his Netflix. Amazon's Echo Show could be a nice Father's day gift too. We love ours!

I "might" look into a metal detector for dh. He's been wanting one for a while due to shows like Oak Island.
Are there any shows with series on dvd that he may like? Or a subscription to like HBO max or something?
Good luck. These guys are hard to buy for!

I CAN NOT drive by the Whitley peanut store and not stop! My family thinks I'm crazy for stopping the car for them, but they're the best.

I took my dad shopping yesterday. We got him a nice belt and some more pyjamas which make my laundry much easier. We got him wine glasses last year and they are beautiful. I would like to get him a bottle of something fancy but what? We have plenty of wine and spirits here to last another century. (He orders it to give to the kids now, too. Maybe we have a problem...)

A donation to a cause that is close to his heart. My DH is very difficult to buy for and he doesn’t need and can’t think of a single thing he wants. Either we do an event or I make a donation. I’m seriously thinking of doing the same thing for Christmas this year for my boys (11 and 14). I don’t mind being the unfun mom. They get spoiled by their grandparents, and by us, all through the year.

We used to live practically next door to a Blue Diamond factory and never stopped. Whitley's I would have to stop every single time I passed, LOL! There is just no comparison.

This might not be for every dad, but I had this beer koozie made. I also got him pliers for fishing since this same pup ate a lure and he didn't have pliers to help get the lure out of her pierced lip. (She's clearly a mess.). We also got each other kayaks for MD and FD.

I'm buying my dad a gift card to a diner where he meets some other retired men for coffee.
I'm not doing jack for FIL. He's an ass.
DH already bought himself a new toy. I'll pick up a special edition beer that he won't buy for himself ($20 for a 22oz bottle).

I got dh a message from his favorite baseball player and a counter top ice machine
Fil got America soaps made with budweiser where a portion of the proceeds go to children of those killed while serving in the military.
Not sure about my dad yet. I was thinking about a contour garage but I also need something else

Book about a C&W singer he likes. She is dead now, but wrote an autobiography a few years ago. I ordered it for him, already in the gift closet.

I ordered something from Wolfermans English Muffins, an eggs Benedict kit! My husband loves those so hopefully he’ll have fun with that.

Oh! I forgot about one thing. We don’t drink much but my husband really likes sour beer. He tried one on a trip once called the Notorious P.O.G. And loved it! However we can’t find it anywhere (we live in Northern California) I was able to order it from the brewery that makes it and it arrived last week. He will be so surprised!

It’s my husband’s first Father’s Day, and he is getting a cute father-daughter book to read to our baby and, if it ever arrives, a shirt with the Mandelorian and baby yoda on it (the classiest, coolest one I could find) that says “Best Dad in the Galaxy.”
My husband gives odd gifts. He tries to be thoughtful, but it’s usually a miss, which makes me feel so bad for him. For Mother’s Day, I got flowers and a mug. The last thing I need is a mug, but I know he thought of me when he saw it. Sigh.
My dad is just getting a card — we don’t do gifts anymore besides birthdays. It was a family joint decision. Makes my life easier!
My FIL...not sure what he’s getting. We got him Omaha Steaks for his birthday. It was a good COVID gift.

My Dad has always loved the birds so I generally Father's Day is a good time for a new bird house. He asked me something about hummingbirds a couple months ago because I have hummingbird feeders so i'm setting him up with a couple of feeders and some info on them. Think he'll enjoy them.
In the past i've given dh puzzles...since we like puzzles. Not that anyone would have any in stock these days.

Are you guys all buying for your own DH's? Or for your kids to give him? I'm going to make my Dad some home cooked frozen meals and buy him some foodie treats like stem ginger

I understand 😊 I just wondered if it was done slightly differently in the US. A bit like you give your children valentines gifts/cards and we don’t here.

Buying for my Dad is super hard. This year, I bought him a nice leather, personalized wallet. He had been looking at wallets earlier this year apparently and never pulled the trigger. I got him this one off Etsy; Wallet

I got these disks for DH to keep track of his travels. Travel Keychain. He really likes to track his achievements, so I’m pretty sure he will love it. I got disks for our travels last fall, as well as a few countries we had visited for vacations. But I’m going to need a much bigger ring to keep them all on! For my Dad, I’ll send an Amazon GC. He has a wish list a mile long! And my FIL is getting Sherri’s Berries. It’s a big deal to get the package and a fun treat for them.

Since DH is working from home forever now (or at least several days a week) even when the pandemic is over... he's getting a standing/sitting desk.
Because the kids don't always cooperate and want to play board games (and some games we have say 2 players but don't work as well with just 2) two player specific games (which he can play with one kid, or with me).
And a snarky open/closed sign so we know when we can pester him at work...
He asked for a new smoker/pellet grill (the "old" smoker was a Father's Day gift two years ago)... still deciding on that one since we still have the old old smoker in the shed, the propane grill collecting dust on the patio, the briquet barbecue out in the yard and a perfectly OK smoker from two years ago...

This year is tough because I almost always do a live event and those are off the table. I got him a switch lite so that he doesn't have to share the regular switch with the rest of us, since we're all gaming a lot more while we're stuck at home. Definitely more of a splurge than a need.
His birthday is next month and I booked a weekend in a cabin that we go to every year or so. He has no idea because I've been super cautious about the lockdown, but we all need a getaway and this seems about the safest option we can do. (It's about 3 hours away, so no need to stop on the way, we can sanitize everything when we get there, it's isolated, and it's got a fantastic deck with a fishing dock, so we really don't have to go anywhere else or run into anyone to have fun.)
