I don’t like and am not trying to defend Trump, but I don’t see whatever struggle it is I’m supposed to see in the stair video.

The water - maybe his jacket was too tight and he couldn’t raise his arm? The stairs - they say he wears lifts, could that cause him to walk a bit funny down the stairs? He seemed fine when he was back on level ground.

I agree about the stairs— it didn’t look weird to me. It did look like he was walking carefully.
I thought the water clip was definitely questionable, though dh says that he’s done that before.

As for the stair video, it looks like he is stepping down one step at a time with both feet, with one foot then the other, then down another step with one foot and then the other, kind of the way a toddler or someone who is unsure of their footing might. At least that’s what it looks like to me.
When I was having a lot of issues with foot and ankle pain that was how I had to go down the stairs instead of one step per foot the way most people would descend a staircase.
ETA: I read in another article that it was a ramp he was going down and not stairs?

I think the water thing is strange and the stair issue looks like he could be having some pain in his leg or foot. But I have bigger issues with what was said during the speech than with either of these things.

I thought it was a ramp, not a stair

I posted this comment on the other thread! he has used two hands to drink water in the past! I did not see him walking on the 'ramp', but I have mentioned in the past that when he is standing upright he is leaning slightly forward for balance. More noticeable from the side when you can see that his arms/hands are toward the front not truly at his sides.

The water I think is an issue. What? I haven’t a clue.
The walking down the stairs looks like he is an old man going down the stairs.

I watched the video and it definitely looks like something is going on. He was shuffling down the ramp like someone with Parkinson’s.

As much as I dislike the guy his maneuvering down the ramp or stairs doesn't look that bad to me. He's a man of a certain age and joint issues aren't unreasonable.
I got in the habit of doing this after a broken foot, it took months for me to be secure about my balance mostly due to side effects from the brace and boot.

How old is Trump? like 70s, right? this is totally normal. Gad people. And I hate the guy. If he is also wearing a lift, or something in his shoes, that's going to throw him off. He's walking down a ramp. That is difficulty for elderly, and people with quad issues. Same with the glass. I would think he is just being careful. again. I don't want to give him any credit, since I dislike him..but there ya go

Walking down a ramp in heels is not always easy. Even in flat shoes, I have to lean back when going down a ramp. Heels makes it a bit harder.

I hate the guy so it pains me to stop be nice but I think the ramp issue looks like it’s actually wide low stairs - those stairs that are only a few inches high and too big for one step so he needs to but both feet on each step. The stairs are probably adjustable and it’s at an awkward angle. Also, there is no handrail.

He always goes down stairs weird. I remember seeing a video of him grabbing on to the arm of a woman as if to steady himself.

With his drinking with two hands...maybe he doesn't want to tip his head back because his hair piece could shift or would look poorly on camera.

I watched the video and again I don’t see the issue. He just looks like someone standing in the wind. He barely sways. There are an infinite number of legitimate reasons to criticize this man. These things just seem like a giant (and unnecessary) stretch.

trump...
”The ramp that I descended after my West Point Commencement speech was very long & steep, had no handrail and, most importantly, was very slippery. The last thing I was going to do is “fall” for the Fake News to have fun with. Final ten feet I ran down to level ground. Momentum!”
As someone in her 70’s and has bad knees when I watch trump I see he has some of same issues I do when walking, or standing or even going down the ramp. The guy who walked down the ramp with him was an old guy and didn’t seem as tentative as trump. And I have friends in their 70’s that have no problems walking, standing for periods of time or going up and down ramps/stairs.
As far as the glass of water goes, I would be more concerned about that then the way he walked down the ramp. Someone on twitter suggested he didn’t want to lose his place on the teleprompter which was why he was so awkward with the water. Maybe if he just used one hand but he had to use the other hand as well. To me that’s the real problem.
Plus someone pointed out the mysterious unscheduled visit to the hospital in November I believe it was. The White House provided a really flimsy reason on the mysterious visit to the hospital.

It looks like he winces just a tinge when the brings the glass up to his mouth. I’ve had various muscle injuries where when I bring my arm up or turn it a certain way and it hitches or slightly “gives out.” Sometimes these issues last a few days, a few weeks or even months and I’m 47. Bursitis type things.
I Am disgusted by the guy, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he has more wrong than being overweight and a sociopath, but the glass thing might just be something normal-ish.

For a “slippery ramp” the General next to him doesn’t seem to be sliding in their slick uniform shoes.
Editing to add
It’s an interesting week when ramps are slippery and 75 year old protesters pushed by the police should have better balance.

Heels makes it a bit harder. That’s what I was thinking too. I wasn’t sorry when I needed to get my toe fused and was told I couldn’t ever wear heels again. Aww Shucks. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To me it looked like he took some steps normally but some the way little kids do where they put both feet on the step before they go down. It wasn’t consistent though which makes it look awkward.
I hate him with burning Intensity of the sun, but I don’t think this was anymore awkward then he always is.
