I am O negative. I found out my blood test when I was pregnant with my first. I had to get the Rhogam shot. I don’t recall what I am, but I too had to have the shot after each miscarriage, then after I had our daughter.

Where did you get the test from? I gave them as stocking stuffers to the rest of the family probably around 6-8 years ago. I got them off of ThinkGeek, I think, but it could have been Amazon.

how fun! I think I learned mine in, like, 8th or 9th grade science class. I vaguely remember doing the test. that is a cool idea for an off-the-wall sort of gift.
(I'm B+... my Dad was AB- and was always getting called to donate blood. I've donated in the past, but the last time I did, it came out so slowly that the tech told me it was coagulating before they could get the container full, and they probably wouldn't be able to use it. She messed around with the needle so many times that I can't bring myself to donate any more.)

O negative. I also learned it in 9th grade science class. My sister was just one grade below me but by that time they had stopped allowing blood testing in public school science class. (1980's Aids scare)

I’m O negative. I knew early on because I used to donate blood. I get calls to donate all the time, but I can’t because I took human growth hormone for years. I also had to have Rhogam before DS was born.

I am O negative. I found out my blood test when I was pregnant with my first. I had to get the Rhogam shot. Same! I carry a card with me of my blood type and any need for the Rhogam shot if needed along with my CHD info card.

I'm O+ - found out when I used to donate blood. Can't donate any more because I lived in the UK during the late 80s and early 90s when Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease was around.

Are people doing this because of Covid? I’m curious how much of a correlation there is and if it is worth getting the test?

I am A- and know from giving blood years ago. I also had to have the Rhogam shot after my first pregnancy. I can't remember if I had it after the other two.
I used to think I was a rare breed with my blood type. I see now it is not so rare.

B- I know this from donating blood in college.
Apparently, blood type personality sorting was (is?) big in Japan. To the point where people listed it on their resumes and matchmaking services evaluated it when pairing people together. I recall B- had negative connotations for men - there was even a song, "Beware the B- Man." I don't know if they didn't like B- women as well though.
