Good morning! That meme is so true leannec . cadoodlebug I hope that you enjoy having your DS arrive today. Tonight we are celebrating Father’s Day. So we have ordered a lobster dinner that we will pick up at 4 pm. My DH loves lobster; but now that we live here, he only eats it once or twice a year. I need to make his cards today and a birthday card. I was indecisive yesterday about what type of cards, I wanted to make and the themes of the cards. So I spent a lot of time looking at my stash and watching videos. Normally a design just comes to me and I just whip it out. Not this weekend.

Missed reading the thread yesterday. We were super busy. Mountain hikes & whitewater rafting.
Had one of the worst takeout pizzas ever but everyone was so hungry no one complained.
Today we’re going on more hikes. 1 to a rock slide park. I’ll watch from the side the water temp is 45 degrees. Then on to some more waterfall hikes.
Supposed to have chicken tinga tacos. I brought all the ingredients.
I have a favor to ask. My nephew’s sister in law is 25 and newly diagnosed with melanoma that has spread. She’s very depressed. If anyone is willing to send her a card or note of encouragement they’d really appreciate it. Her mom died when she was 11 and her dad I think when she was 19. So she really doesn’t have someone to really fall back on. Here’s her info if anyone feels like sending one.

Thank you

Dinner here tonight is going to be steak on the grill with a salad on the side. DH will do the cooking, as always on weekends or when we grill. I was hoping for a change in the weather today, but instead we got more rain, with a loud thunderstorm thrown in for good measure.

teddyw I am Very happy to hear that you are enjoying your vacation. That’s the only reason why I liked your post. I am very sorry for your niece. I am going to make her a card and keep her in my prayers. Please let her know. It may take a while to get from the US to her.

Wow! teddyw so young to have a cancer diagnosis. I'll be praying. leannec I like tattooed men too. My husband has three and is gearing up for a sleeve. We are going over to my mom's house today to swim. Damn is it hot in Michigan today. My stepdaughters came and brought their two cousins and one boyfriend. So we have a house full of kids. I just love it. I'm going to make a lasagna for dinner. And whew! My latest blanket is going to be a challenge. I'm working on it. But I think it's the toughest project I've ever done.

leannec he is doing great. He is up walking when he needs to go to the bathroom and the trek down there takes a while. I think his recovery is great! I am so relieved. This tribe got me through this and I thank each and every one of you for you love and support. You are all amazing women!

Typical Saturday: busy morning and lazy afternoon.
Dinner will be hamburger/veggie burger and fruit salad.
destined2bmom , I'm the same way with my card making. Most of the time a design comes to me easily. Occasionally I have to just fool around with some paper combinations and if it doesn't feel right, I walk away and come back later. I have 3 cards to make this afternoon. teddyw , I will be happy to make a card for your family member. I'm glad you are enjoying your vacation.
A peaceful Saturday to all.

teddyw , my cousin was diagnosed when she was about 30. She was fortunate enough to receive experimental (at that time) treatment, and is doing fine more than 20 years later. There is hope. Getting out of bed at 5.30 in the morning is too early. Fed DD and the pets, before we drove to the stable to give the pony a bath (okay, shower) before the show jumping competition. Clear round, and they did a great job. For the first time she didn’t get the jitters (do Americans use the expression as well?), and that made all the difference. Controlled, perfect pace and not a fence down. So proud of them both. Dinner? Well, we had planned to grill some chicken and burgers, but then the heavens opened. Still tasted nice. And now I’m eating chocolate and drinking tea (hot tea, since everything else is just plain wrong).

I'm lobbying hard for take-out. It will be the first time since January. teddyw, happy to hear that you're having fun! Sad to hear about your family member. miominmio, congratulations to you dd for a clean round! That' s terrific! I can't answer for all Americans, but this American uses the term jitters/jittery.

leannec love the meme and the guy in it needs to be my next BF. cadoodlebug enjoy your family time. I love Mexican Train! jeremysgirl that is intricate! But it will be so gorgeous when you’re done. teddyw so sorry about your family members diagnosis. I’ll be happy to send her a card. Is she going to be like who are these weirdos? miominmio I say jitters/jittery So yesterday’s Juneteenth celebrations went great in my city. Everything was peaceful. Lots of community came together to show support. All the festivities were outdoors. I ended up going to a friends in the evening and we went out for dinner to Society Burger. But today is Trumps rally and I’m much more concerned. It’s bringing people from all over. Lots of restaurants, businesses etc in the area have boarded up and shut down for the weekend. Lots of rumors about COVID infected people coming here to purposefully spread the virus. People are evil. Just sayin. So my ass isn’t leaving the house today. Dinner will probably Bamboo Thai delivery.

Oh, I forgot to mention this. When we were on our walk this morning a friend told us that a Fed Ex delivery kid came running away from a house around the corner from us. When he went to put the box down by the front door, a rattlesnake that was right under the door step started making noises. Scared the poor kid to death. Our friend put a big note on the owner's garage door alerting them to the snake. In this area you always look under your door steps for snakes.

There will be no dinner served here tonight. There will just be nibbling all day long. I already had chili rice for breakfast. That should actually hold me for another few hours. teddyw, I’m so sorry to hear about this young woman. Of course I will send a card. My question is just double-checking, that’s the correct spelling for her first name? Thank you. miominmio, this American gets the jitters!

I am getting out of the house and going for a drive with my husband. We got hit with covid-19. We have been continuing quarantining for 3 weeks (length of the virus) and need some fresh air and new scenery! We were sooo sick! I already had oxygen at home because of my hypoxia, and I tell you, had I not had that, I would have ended up in the hospital. The whole thing felt so scary, just because we know so many people have died, but we only have lingering coughs left now. We have no idea how we got it. We have been SIP since the beginning, we only go out to get food or to the doctor. We thought we might have gotten it from our daughter who came to see us on Memorial Day (social distancing) because she had come straight from the airport. She tested negative though. So, we have no clue...maybe a package or grocery bags? They say that's unlikely. The doctor's office? Maybe? Anyway, we are better now, thank heavens! We are going to take a "picnic" and eat in the car when we find somewhere pretty to park. Not sure what the food will be, maybe sandwiches or chicken. jeremysgirl That is gorgeous, and so difficult! teddyw I'm sorry about your family member's cancer, prayers out for her.

Been a lazy Saturday here. teddyw So sorry to read about your nephew’s sister in law. I will say a prayer for her healing. We will have the brats I mentioned yesterday as we did not get to them. My bathroom sink was draining slow, so I put some Drano it it and forgot about it. Must have eaten right through the pipe or something as I had a flood of yuck all under the sink and onto the bathroom floor. After getting that cleaned up, take out sounded better, so we had breakfast from Village Inn delivered. Will call plumber on Monday. Hope everyone enjoys their evening.

There is halibut I need to cook. I will roast some vegetables and maybe rice. Or lasagna. I don’t know and don’t care. I am easy with either.
Everything is great.

teddyw, sounds like a great vacation for outdoor adventure! I'll send a card along to Lauran. We have a dear family friend that was first diagnosed with melanoma a year or two older than her and has responded so well to an immunotherapy trial that there has been NED for a few years. There has been so much advancement in treating melanoma. Your crochet project is gorgeous, jeremysgirl! Congratulations to your DD, miominmio! Controlling precompetition jitters is not easy. Glad to hear you are recovering, SunnySmile! I'm sure a picnic and fresh air will feel fabulous. Delta Dawn, so glad to hear your dad is up and about. DH had a hip replacement almost 10 years ago and his ONLY regret was not doing it sooner. The pain relief was immediate. Dinner tonight is grilled Italian sausages with the usual vegetables (onions, peppers, zucchini and asparagus) and a coleslaw.

I attempted to make stuffed hashbrowns but I had forgotten that I have an inability to cook hashbrowns in a way that renders them flippable, so what I actually made was piles of hashbrowns with cheese and bacon on top. Still good. Feeling very lazy today. We went for a walk, and I have put in a few hours at my online job, but what I really want is a nap. It's too late for that now though. If I nap now, I'll be up all night!

Still no decisions made but I did bake an apple crumble pie and we can’t wait to eat it. The fish is light anyway so I will bake it and no rice so we can have pie instead.
Today is such a good day.
