Just curious how much damage the pandemic is causing around here. This does not account for any reduced expenses that’s probably another poll.

I'm a teacher, so i am still getting my contract pay. Dh is an RT, so he is still working.
I picked stayed the same, but dh did have some mandatory OT so a couple paychecks were higher

I was let go from my job, but I still have a pension I can live on. Currently getting unemployment for a part-time position. I might go back this fall if money is available. Since it is tied to kids being in school, it is a crap shoot.

I’m not sure how to answer, I am unemployed. I was unable to find a teaching contract. My Plan B was to substitute teach but... Nah, I’m gonna sit this one out for awhile (that’s if my district even goes back, we still haven’t heard).

Yes. We lost a whole season's income on our rental property in Maine, and DH has been unable to teach the Six Sigma green and black belt classes that have been his side hustle for a few years now.

Yes, our finances have changed. But not really the income. Instead the spending. Dh especially tends to shop when bored. I tend to spend more during the summer but that’s because I’ll go on mini adventures. That’s not happening this summer so my staying home is balancing his spending a small amount.
Dd moved back in with us until she can close on her house. That keeps getting pushed back due to the pandemic. Our spending has increased because of that as well.
My pay hasn’t changed but Dh saw a small decrease for month. He actually got a raise last week though.

I’m still employed and making my full salary. My dh is back to work after about a month off, but he’s making 20% of what he was. He’s more optimistic than I am, but at this point I don’t see him ever getting back to where he was.

Kinda. My income has remained the same at work but I went 10 weeks not getting child support. That affected us greatly. My ds's dad was out of work for 10+ weeks & just couldn't pay. Now he's back to work & back paying but I'll never get those past 10 weeks.

We've dropped a tiny bit as the camps I run were cancelled, but I only receive a very, very small amount from that. Thankfully DH's income essentially stayed the same, as he was laid off in January and only began a new job at the very last bit of February. We have to laugh, he only worked in that office for 3 weeks before having been able to work from home since mid-March. Technically the new job pays a bit less than the other one, but the layoff had nothing to do with Covid so I'm not counting that.

Yes, DH retired due to pandemic issues at work, our retirement has taken large hits due to stock market volatility. I’m back at work, but on a reduced schedule so reduced pay. However, we’re a lot better off than a lot who’ve been hit hard by the pandemic. If I lose my job, it will hurt some, but we’ll still be okay. I feel better knowing we paid off our house when the shit hit the fan.

Not at all. My husband is active duty military so he’s had a steady paycheck and I’m not working at this duty station.

I'm not working at the moment but was able to collect CERB in Canada. My husband's job just kept going and we can live off of his salary. My salary was for extras. We're ok.

I am furloughed and collecting unemployment, still no word on when I’ll be going back to work. My husband is salaried and working from home but his company has stopped contributing to his 401(k) for at least six months. We both agreed that we would rather they stop matching contributions if it means his coworkers can keep their jobs.

DH got a promotion that came with a raise, so we've actually increased our income. Now our stock portfolio, on the other hand...😬

I'm in Canada, so a bit different for our household financially for sure.
DH is salary, and when they shut down, they kept him at full pay for the two months he was home, and paid the hourly staff 40 hours/week at their usual rates. They stopped the RRSP deductions (retirement savings that they match) for the shutdown, but kept benefits the same.
I, however, chose to completely shut down my cake business for 3 months. My wedding payments pretty much stopped, as did my usual weekly amount of cakes. I normally take 50% deposit for weddings and then the remainder two weeks before the wedding - and that is usually spread out nicely all summer and fall. That is gone.
I was able to qualify for the monthly emergency benefit, which enabled me to keep paying for my vehicle and pay some business bills while I was not working. They extended it, but I only took the 4 months they first offered, as I'm back to full steam for orders (minus weddings).
I'm sure my income tax bill in the spring will be high as the benefit came without tax removed. But I'll deal with it then, just like I do every year with my taxes.
I'm super grateful we were able to stay the course and not have any financial issues.

Retired so no change in income. We've had 2 rebate checks from out auto insurance and a huge drop in gas usage. I am spending more on food eaten at home but zero on dining out.

DH is a sportscaster, so his income is totally gone until September at the very earliest, and more likely January or beyond. Fortunately, I have a great job and carry our benefits, so we are fine.

We both have techy work from home jobs that haven’t changed. Expenses are down though quite a bit - credit card bill has been half of what it usually is and we got a $6k credit back for oldest sons dorm and dining expenses for the end of the school year.

I’m still getting paid per the teaching contract, but will be getting pension payments starting in August, as I retired in May. The pension will be less than my salary, but the house will be paid off in a couple more months. I’ve been paying for the groceries and other things I pick up for my brother and his wife, so my expenses have been up some, but I'm in good shape and grateful to be able to give him a little breathing room in his budget as he’s on Social Security and his wife is on disability.

So far we have no reduction in income.
We have the most money in cash, checking, and savings that we have ever had and we’ve made lots of large purchases like new furniture and appliances.
The things that we spend 80% of our income on are not currently available, so we are spending 1/5 of what we usually do every month. The rest of it is just sitting there.

Since I draw retirement, my income hasn't changed, but the price of goods sure has increased, so in a way, it has affected my finances a little bit.

I'm retired (not old enough for SS for a while yet) so using income as a barometer to measure finances isn't relevant to me. But yes, it has affected my finances adversely, and will likely continue to do so for some time.

we've been very fortunate - I don't work and DH is an essential worker (on salary) so work hasn't been interrupted for him.

I still get my salary but have lost all my bonuses and commissions for the foreseeable future. Salary pays the mortgage and bills. The bonuses were all the extras and fun. Oh well.

DH and I have both worked this whole time, but both have lost a lot of OT that was pretty standard. I alone have lost several hundred dollars per month. Our older DD lost her after school job where she was saving for starting college. She will start a new one tomorrow, but goes to school in a month.

My regular job is salary so that didn't change for me but my side job as a caterer got hit big time. Add to that having all of my kids home my grocery budget took a significant hit🙄
