I purchased some Halloween accessories and houses last month and am excited to start displaying them in late Sept. The person I bought from also ended up gifting me a huge Snow Village collection! I’m going through everything now and purging duplicates and unloved pieces from my own collection. I don’t know why I stopped displaying them... probably because they are a hassle to take out and store again... but the SIP has renewed my interest. I’ve seen some year round displays which might be fun to try and duplicate. Anyone else have a Dept. 56 collection?

I have about 30 houses in my Dept 56 Christmas village. It takes me about 2 weeks to put it up. The past 2 years I haven't done it because it's so much work. I find if I take a year off I'm excited to put it back up again.

Yes, I have Christmas in the City and my DD has the Dickens Village. We moved 5 years ago and I haven't put it up since. I used to put it up on top of my kitchen cabinets at my previous house.

Yes, I have about 7 pieces of the snow village. I used to only put it up every other year, but since having grandkids, it is every year. They love to hear the jingle bell house play music.

Yep - I have a large Christmas in the City collection, and smaller North Pole and New England villages. I only set up the city every few years, but the smaller ones go up each year. I love them, and enjoy seeing the way other people display them. Have fun!

I have one piece, a Victorian house. I don't even put it out because it's just one piece. DH bought it for me years ago. I'd love to sell it.

I have several pieces of the Christmas Village. Since we have moved into this house I have no where to display them. I really miss putting them out through the Holidays.

I have 7 Dept 56 boats and several waterfront shops. They are out all the time as part of my nautical theme decor.

My DH collected Christmas in the City before we were married and during our early married years. Through the years it became my responsibility to set it all up during the holidays. Not happening. It’s been in boxes in the guest room closet for years now. It’s pretty and I enjoy it, but I don’t have the time to deal with it.

I used to put it up on top of my kitchen cabinets at my previous house. I have many Dicken's Village pieces and all kinds of accessories that I would also display on top of my kitchen cabinets ... soooooo much work to put up and take down ... never again I love my village but it sits in boxes now

DD was gifted a bunch of Dicken’s Village pieces from a friend of mine a number of years ago. The only place they really work is on top of our piano which is in a room we rarely go into, so it doesn’t seem worth the effort. Once we get our fireplace at the lake cabin finished, I might take it there to display at Christmastime on the mantel.

I've got at least 35 of the Snow Village houses/stores/accessories. I love them, but have a hard time displaying them. I had a bookshelf (cheap one that looked nice, but I didn't care if I ruined it) and I drilled out a hole in the back of each shelf to run the cords. I don't have that anymore so it's hard. But they're so beautiful - I just love them!

I have so much other stuff that it just got to be a bother.

I have several pieces of the Snow Village. DH got my first piece, a blue victorian house, the first year we were dating and wrote "A place for them to begin" on the tag. Each year he gets a new piece or accessory to commemorate something that happened in our family during that year. Sometimes it's something small like a campfire accessory set the year we built our fire pit and spend many enjoyable nights around it. The year our DD got married and had a barn wedding, I received the "Christmas Barn Dance" piece. It's always very thoughtful and one of my favorite traditions.
Part of his gift to me is setting it up on top of our kitchen cabinets. It usually takes him most of a day to set up. I wouldn't leave my village up year round because it's snow/Christmas themed. And they get grimy and dusty just being above the cabinets for a couple months.

I love it and it’s very high quality. But it takes up a lot of room plus it is a lot of work to put out then put away. I have one halloween mansion. The rest I left in AZwhen we moved cross country.

We got started with a few pieces when we went to Disneyland for our honeymoon. I can count on one hand the number of times I've taken the time to take them all out, but when we do... so tedious to set up though.

Not the houses, but I collect the Snow-babies.
