Horrifying, but strangely comforting to know we don’t have that market cornered.

My city. This will be a non event and a it's suppose to rain all day.
I have a "friend" in Alberta who is posting a similar event in her area. She is immunocompromised and thinks we need a Trump in Canada. I'm getting really close to hitting the unfriend button. I feel like being her "friend" is giving her a voice that no one needs to hear.

I’m sorry But thank you for sharing that it’s not just Americans that are doing stupid stuff.

there are people that feel that way here in toronto. they pop up on my neighbourhood FB page every now and then. and promptly get blasted for being selfish and stupid, then call everyone hysterical or sheep and finally slink away. i suspect that event will not have many attendees... even some people who even do think that way (masks are dumb) don't wanna engage or be "outed" on television coverage or social media.

*sigh*
We are about to find out how compliant the Aussies in Victoria are, mask wearing whenever you leave the house becomes compulsory as of midnight on Wednesday. Potential $200 fine if you are caught without a mask/face covering.
It will be interesting to see what happens here in comparison to other countries!

They become compulsory in shops in England on Friday (don't ask me why they wait so long to bring these things in!!) so we'll be watching too! At the moment it's only compulsory on public transport with high compliance.

To the antimaskers: Really, what difference will it make if we wear masks for several months and then somehow find out that they really weren't effective? As your good friend, who shall remain nameless likes to say: What do you have to lose?

All I can say is thank goodness they don't want the "freedumb" to not wear clothes the way they want freedumb to not wear masks.
I mean, what's the difference? They're both things that cover parts of your body for the sake of society - especially in areas or times of year when clothes aren't worn for warmth, or when you're in a climate-controlled shop or friend's house.
Do you see people agitating about their RIGHTS to be naked and no one should tell someone else they have to wear clothes?!?! Do you see people losing their minds over wearing clothes? No. Because we're used to it and it's just something we do and accept from the time we're kids.
Now, for a while at least, we need to wear masks for the sake of society.

Two weeks ago a bus driver in the French city of Bayonne was beaten by passengers who refused to wear masks. He died from his injuries. Stupid and horrible people can be found all over the world. 🙄
Masks became obligatory in all indoor public spaces as of yesterday, here. The ones who will be held responsible for non-compliance are business owners. Fines of up to $6,000 can be imposed on them. That’s a tough one to understand and we’ll see what happens. I don’t expect any large/widescale/vocal disobediance but I’m sure we’ll have situations

Potluck! They're friendly petri dishes in ordinary times, by all means share foo9d with strangers at a rally during a pandemic.

Kind of sad that I feel relieved the mask-less French folks are not wearing them because oh well, we flattened the curve, it's fine now (spoiler: it's not). There's no bizarre political debate about wearing a mask. Just your typical European nonchalance.
Masks are mandatory in all closed spaces accessible by the public starting tomorrow over here. Finally! I have not heard anything about people "rebelling" or complaining about the loss of liberté. Disheartening to read that some Canadians are following in their American neighbour's footsteps.

My skin looks like hell from breathing warm, moist air over and over. I wear a mask because Charles Darwin would want me to. GP said just put antibiotic cream on it. I am not getting sick.

I feel sorry for the two girls in that stock photo
At least the curve in Canada is flatter than it is here. There's been so many reports of outbreaks at churches that had big gatherings, which is so ironic. God has got to be constantly facepalming these days.
The only thing I don't get is why so many people wear masks in their cars with the windows all rolled up.

I'm thinking of turning off Facebook for a while because I'm worried that my feed is going to be filled with anti mask idiots. I kind of want to be oblivious to them. I'm glad there will be a fine for those not complying.

With air conditioning it really doesn’t bother me.

I work in healthcare and wear a mask all day, with the exception of lunch, and have twice caught myself with my mask still on while driving home. I’m so used to it now, I forget I’m wearing it.

I have to say, I’m very impressed with my community and the compliance with mask wearing. I’ve heard no local protests and even before it was mandatory probably 80% of people I saw in lines at stores were wearing masks.

I was out Saturday and in Oakville about 70% of people were wearing masks, up from ~50% prior. Hopefully the bylaws are enforced without issue. I’m worried this might be karenville but we’ll see. I’ve blocked 2 people on FB due to anti-mask (or anti-BLM) shit. Both in Hamilton - what is up with Hamilton? Both of them conservative evangelicals by the way.

I have a shirt that says “Hamilton is Home”, because despite not having lived there for nearly ten years it still holds my heart — but not if it’s gonna be like that! Lol I deactivated Facebook months ago. Ignorance is bliss.
