Check out this video about getting cheap testing to all and why the expensive testing isn't really working by not testing the transmissible virus. linkIf anyone would like a brief explanation about PCR Ct values I could give a brief explanation. This could be so crucial for future success.
The tests are like a pregnancy test that companies could print antibodies on paper and then you would spit on the paper, about a dollar per test that detects the virus at low copy numbers vs. PCR that detects virus remnants at high copy number after virus is transmissible. Get it out to everyone and test every other day. Fascinating conversation L

BTT....No replies? I thought the analytical peas would/could/should view this video as a source of knowledge. It really could change the game in the US, but unfortunately, I think it's all about where the money flows.

I'm interested but the video is almost 2 hours long and I don't have that much time right now. Will try to watch later. Thanks for sharing!

Interested too but no time to watch. Can you sum it up in layman terms?

OK... simple version>>>> The tests that are available now are expensive, about $100/test and these current tests already detect many copies of the virus, much more than the transmissible limit....We need cheap tests to detect transmissible virus, not that you are positive (>Ct values of 35 or more by PCR). This Dr says that transmissible virus could be as low as 8 Ct value could be transmissible. (lower the Ct detects the minimal copies of the virus). This is an antibody test that is cheap to print on paper, can spit on it (and could cost a dollar/test), to see if you are in the transmissible phase, like a pregnancy test to see if you are positive. Can get out to everyone....

I didn't watch after about 45 minutes. He has info on current tests and the limitations. If you are interested I could clarify scientific terms. Thanks for responding.

I didn’t watch the video but wondered what you know about the test they are using here. In order to enter Abu Dhabi by car, they have a finger prick test that they administer. They test a drop of blood and if it’s negative, you can enter, if it’s positive, you need to get the nasal swab. That’s all I know.

From googling, it sounds as though the finger prick is a test for antibodies.
