It's August? How did that happen?
I found a few more sheets of Cosmo Cricket winter papers last night. I am going to scrapbook some childhood photos with it.

I did my August month page in my memory planner last night. I did stamping again. I liked it. It’s a little too similar to July but I didn’t want to do July the same as last year. Anyway I like it and that’s what matters so that’s that.
Maybe I’ll shake it up for Sept maybe I’ll just do the stamping again.

Thought I was done for good with Simon Says Stamps, but I clicked on a sale email from them, saw that their gnome dies from last year’s December kit had been restocked, so I ordered them. Maybe I can stop buying every gnome die and stamp and embellishment I see, now.
Oh, and the Pioneer D-ring albums I ordered from Scrapbook.com arrived. Does this mean I have to start putting pages into page protectors and putting them in albums?

Maybe I can stop buying every gnome die and stamp and embellishment I see, now. I ordered the gnome from Gina Marie designs and he will arrive Tuesday. I ‘think’ I like him better because he has arms. Not sure. Isn’t it crazy that once you see something you have to have it? Oh, and the Pioneer D-ring albums I ordered from Scrapbook.com arrived. Does this mean I have to start putting pages into page protectors and putting them in albums? Yes, but it’s a good activity to do when watching or listening to something.

Yes, but it’s a good activity to do when watching or listening to something. Years ago I watched the entire first season of Downton Abbey while sorting and putting away layouts. I am not 100% sure what to do-I *think* I got most of my LO from 2015/16 put away, but maybe still have some photos to scrap? What then??? This is why I think I need to use the 3 ring binders, with post bound that is shifting a lot of things around if I just have a random page to add.

Simon Says Stamps, but I clicked on a sale email from them, saw that their gnome dies from last year’s December kit had been restocked ALL the gnomes - I'll have to check that out, I love gnomes but haven't actually acquired any yet I am not 100% sure what to do-I *think* I got most of my LO from 2015/16 put away, but maybe still have some photos to scrap? What then??? This is why I think I need to use the 3 ring binders, with post bound that is shifting a lot of things around if I just have a random page to add. I do use 3-ring albums and it does make it SO much easier than post-bound when you don't scrap in order I have photos on my desk waiting to be scrapped that I didn't get to yesterday so hoping they'll get done today

I love this thread each month! One of my monthly crops has started back up so I am within maybe 4 layouts of finishing Christmas. Not sure what the next batch will be but I'm thinking Easter once I pull all my papers and embellies. In all the years I've been scrapping I have never been this far behind with current photos, having had no crops for over 3 months.
Organization efforts are now in the distant past. Oh well. There is always another day.
My niece had her first child at age 41 2 weeks ago and I am going to make her a book, but I decided I will do an 8.5x11 book with a 2 page spread for each month. Then she can just pick a few favorites to put in it. I am going to do the same thing for her mom, my SIL. I don't even know if they print photos so I will ask them to send me their favorites and I'll print them. She sent me quite a few pregnancy an ultrasound photos that I printed. I'm thinking it will be a good Christmas gift for each of them.

Yay! Thanks for continuing this thread!😁
This morning I started working on birthday layouts. I used a triangle banner stencil, rubbing chalk ink on it, then accented the banner with enamel dots & puffy star stickers.
I also added a summer sticker from a pack I bought yesterday, to a layout still in progress.
I was thumbing through my cardstock, & hadn't realized how low my stash had become. How'd I run out of kraft?

I did the dreaded putting layouts away last week and then ran into the even more dreaded crap I need more albums dilemma! So I ran out and bought some 3 ring knock off we r the memory keeper ones from Micheals I found on clearence! Then I stumbled upon several, several unjournaled layouts! 😣 I worked on a few and then moved on.
As I was putting layouts away I also made note of which birthdays of all 3 of my kids where actually scrapbooked and which where missing, cross referenced them with my library of printed pictures and made notes and put them in with the pictures so I would know. That led to me actually making another layout of my middle DS! It was a Christmas concert band performance from 9 years ago. And I didn't hem and haw, just used a scrapbook generations sketch and got it done. And I loved the way it turned out!!
So this has led to renewed scrappy mojo, and the fact I ordered pics and they finally arrived yesterday. I am thrilled to death that Amazon photos is now printing the date and time the photo was taken on the back of the pictures!! Yay! This is gonna make my life so much easier!!
I'm anxious to get home from work today and get to work on something!!
So here's to hopefully a Scrappy August!!

I just ordered my July pics.
Holy moly, I didn't realize what a big order it was.
I'm really looking forward to it because it has Instagram posts from the cdc & who from January & February that I will be able to use for a beginning to my pandemic album. I originally started in March because that's when it started officially affecting my life. But there's story before that.

LavenderLayoutLady I too was shocked when my photo order arrived! It was for April, May and June and did not include photos for my pandemic album cause I am printing those at home. I didn't realize there was a holiday, 3 birthdays, mothers and fathers day, and a ton of pics of our cats. They seem to have taken the place of my great nieces and nephews! I have already started an Easter layout. I have figured out printed photos+sketch=less stress and success for me!!😊

We had the remnants of the hurricane blew through my area today, and the gray skies put me in a fall mood. I've started building a fall kit inspired by these P-13 Autumn papers. I don't have these, but I have some older papers with a lot of oranges and browns that I'd like to pair with some distressed brights like P-13 does here. And I still have my 6x8 Paige Evans Truly Grateful to use too, which has lots of brights. I'm going to have to plan at least a couple of fall outings. I know it won't be like last year, but we'll at least go pick pumpkins.

I'm not doing much 'scrappy' right now, but I do have lots of crafty things going on... I drove across the country starting July 3rd to stay with my mom for 3 weeks while she was in the hospital and recuperating from knee replacement surgery. I took plenty of pics of my trip that I need to edit, organize, and print. (I drove back over three days at the end of July.) But I've gotten sidetracked with making cards to send her to cheer her up while she's in the rehab facility (there were complications with her recovery), and now I've also finally started coloring in an adult coloring book that I've had for a few years, but been afraid of messing up (the pictures are sooo pretty). And I do have several SB layouts in various stages of completion on my desk, underneath all the other stuff, too.
My goals for the month are pretty simple:
1) organize and put away all the crafty things I took to my mom's but never got a chance to do while I was there 2) get all the pics from that trip from my phone onto my laptop so I can edit them 3) print some of the pics out to send to my mom 4) send my mom cards every few days while she's in rehab 5) keep working on the paint-by-numbers painting I started while I was there 6) keep working in my newly-started coloring book 7: finish the SB layouts that I have in-process on my desk
ETA: ohmygosh, I was going to add something so I hit 'edit' and I already don't remember what I was going to write- good grief!!

I put away three finished layouts today. Worked on another layout that may or may not be finished yet. Way to go! I did a little planning for the layouts I hope to do during tonight's virtual crop (you should join us! or the Sunday morning one! ), but now I'm shopping. I'm thinking about getting a few sheets of KaiserCraft's Fallen Leaves, but I'm always disappointed by the weight of their papers. They're always so thin and flimsy. But I love their muted tones so much I might have to buy them anyway.

enjoyed being on Google Meet with msliz and the ladies. I had fun too! My DD's car broke down, so we had to go get her, get the car here ect...so by the time I got back, it was too late. But I am going to try for tomorrow's crop. I get a lot done when we have virtual crops!

My Snapfish order arrived this morning, and I dove in, separating my pandemic prints from our everyday life prints.
So, I have a confession. I may have printed a ridiculous number of memes to include on my July pandemic layouts.
I watched Mitch Hedberg vids on YouTube while I trimmed them down.
My July pandemic layouts will be separated into:
July specific memes
2020 specific memes
mask wearing memes
pop culture/ music/tv themed pandemic memes, along with other countries' commentary on USA memes.
Then my city specific info
My state specific info
Our school district specific info, along with back to school pandemic memes.
The coin shortage due to the pandemic
I may have others, but they don't come to mind just yet.

Good job hop2 ! Today I have an unexpected day off, so I really want to work on my scrapping. This week has been super busy, so I haven't touched my layouts. My hope is that I can work on my July pandemic layouts.

Sigh - so much to do, so much time, so little motivation
I managed to scan the oldest photos from mum's collection - some tintypes (not sure yet when they are from but they're old) to about 1912. I wish more were labelled. Anyone have a link to a good website on dating photos? Ordered an archivial box to store them in - it should be here today.

linda Good luck with dating your pics. I don't have any resources (sorry) but I can identify with the frustration of having photos without the info about them. I was given a whole box that just overwhelms me.

So, I've started scrapping this morning.
The Game Day WRMK Albums Made Easy cards have come in so handy for my layout about Dr. Fauci (it has a screen shot of his baseball card), and for a layout about sports being affected by the pandemic - our city sports having no fans in the stands, Olympics being postponed, etc.
Totally worth the dollar I spent. 😀
