My progress today:
I started & mostly finished about nine 12x12 pandemic pages. Now, these are not immensely intricate, mostly simple, but I like them and they document clearly.
Three of those pages were about the time period between December 31st, 2019 & March 18th, 2020. I used screenshots of the WHO timeline of how COVID19 came to be known.
I also used some CDC Instagram posts from the early days. Amazing how initially it was described as low risk to Americans. Look where we are now.
I stamped out a title, "How It Began," and kept those pages very clean and linear. I added them to the beginning of my album, because it gives more context then just jumping right in at March 2020, like I originally did.
I also left a placeholder page of cardstock that I want to make a title page/layout as the first page you see when you open the album.
My mojo is in full swing, and I'm hoping to grab more time this weekend to work on July's layouts.

You guys! I actually used letter stickers!
Yeah, I buy them but rarely, if ever, use them. But I used them today for the 2nd time in a week! Yay me! Lol ( I am being a little sarcastic ) But you have to grab those ‘small’ achievements when you can.

I went back today to continue my vacation album from 2018. I love it but get so easily overwhelmed. I did a couple pages and printed more pics for it. I have very little journaling in it. I wish I had more but it is what it is.

I made a layout the other day that I don't like. I'm going to try to take it apart today and see if I can make it better. I have some ideas. I'll probably make another page or two, also.

ecvnj58 Vacation pages are my absolute favorite! I bet your photos tell the story beautifully! 😁 artbabe I've made several layouts that had to come back apart again in my time. Good luck finding the design that brings you happiness. 😁

I've worked on several pandemic layouts today, mostly just starting each one, setting it aside, starting the next.
I am just blown away by the jump in the number of cases & deaths between the beginning and end of the month of July. Sickened.
In July I made many bullet note journalings on scraps of paper. Decisions about schools opening virtually, different bans, new rules. I wrote how I felt at work, about my stress. I included all of this.
I included a screenshot of my bulk order of disposable masks. Who ever would have thought that would happen?

I've been cutting titles on my Silhouette 90% of the time for several years so my Thickers have been gathering dust. I have a 'yay me' moment every time I actually use some, too. Today I'm pondering my options for sketch 12 of the SG 6x6 class and really not much else. I have some watercolors on standby in case I feel motivated to do something. I want to make a couple of cards but it doesn't seem likely today. Lazy summer day.

Well I sat down this morning to pick, prepare, & send my July 2019 Photos to be printed. At 3:45pm I sent not only July 2019 but all of 2019 that was not printed. ( I needed 75 for a sale and I ended up with only 2 more months to go so I just buckled down and did them. Now I’m impatiently waiting for the order to be ready so I can do July, which I had told myself I would work in today.
I may want 1 5x7 from May from DD graduation. I’m going to do a real layout for that one. I printed a 4x6 of the picture for the 10 cents but I know I might want that one a 5x7 but I’ll print that at home if I do. When I eventually get to May. I want to do July so I can move my July-December 2019 to my shelf in the living room making room in my cabinet for 2020 which is currently in one of the 2019 binders

Ok so July 2019 PL is in the books, and the album is on the living room shelf! Yay!
Now on to the rest of 2019. I think I’ll go from Jan - June for this half because the photos are printed and Jan Feb & March are small and should go fast. April, May & June are full of events.

hop2 Yay! Sounds like you got a bunch done, and have a good plan! Today I finished my July pandemic layouts. A whopping 18! Plus the three that cover How It Began. I still want to make a title page, but I'm not sure what that will look like. The thing is, I find a lot of peace in making pandemic layouts. It helps to process this year's insanity. Can you believe that in April, there were "only" twenty thousand-some deaths in the USA. Four months have passed, and we're staring down the barrel at 170,000. Also, at the beginning of July, there were about 128,000 deaths in the USA. At the end of July, there were 150,000+ deaths. Mind blowing when you see the numbers in front of you in paper. For August, I'm going to include fewer memes, more journaling. I need to take more pics of the kids & I. It's easy to forget to when you're not going anywhere special. Other than pandemic layouts, I haven't touched our few July pics. I have a July 4th pic in there, and some of the kids playing in the sprinkler. But I'm not feeling very summery right now.

I think it would be interesting to see the page and read what you don't like about it. I find it interesting to see other people's ideas and why they do or don't like something.

I went to a friend's house for a crop on the first. We are planning a weekend crop/sleepover so I am trying to get prepared for that. Trying to use up scraps since I have a ton. I have 3 12×12 Iris cases and a shoebox full

I worked on a page 2 weeks ago that I'm seriously considering re-doing. It was my DH back at the age of 3. Just don't like the pp that I chose and since it is a very simple 8.5x11 layout, the pp is very prominent. Just don't know what I want to do with it yet.

Yesterday I pulled all the photos off a pattern paper on the beginning of a pandemic layout. The colors had been good, but the overall pattern was nearly dizzying because the photos were very busy as well. I'm glad i did and didn't just power through because it would have always bothered me.

My GLUE arrived on Friday!!! So excited that the refills that had been backordered showed up in my mailbox.
I got to take some fun photos on Sunday, and printed them today. (A 5 yer old's bd and little guys playing in the lake) Hoping to get back into scrapping tomorrow after a busy week. Don't know where to start, but I printed some 5x7's that should make finishing some of the pages easier.
Stopped at the LSS today and picked up some TH Walnut oxide ink. Can't wait to try that colour. I have used the distress walnut forever, but had never tried the oxide version. Also picked up some new dies: Tim Holz layered triangles and "Happy Birthday" layered word dies. They had also put away their August kit for me, and the colours go perfectly with my lake photos. You see? The scrap gods WANT me to scrap this week!
I need to check out the times for the ScrapHappy Scrap Smarter event this upcoming weekend. I think they have posted their supply list, so hopefully I can get myself organized to play along...
Talk about random... But's that's the name of the thread, right?

grammadee This is definitely a random thread! I love hearing what everyone is doing. I bought some more Pilot brown gel pens for journaling. Because Amazon is so great at suggesting additional items I might want (LOL), I also purchased a set of assorted colors.

I just counted, and I only have to finish 5 more pages before this vacation album is done! I'll be so glad to move on to something else. Unfortunately, I think it's going to have to be cleaning and organizing.

Today I stamped a bunch of journal spots on scraps, and added them to my journal spot bag.
It's funny, but I've used that stamp hundreds of times over the past ten years. I don't even know what company it is anymore.

Unfortunately, I think it's going to have to be cleaning and organizing. That's awesome progress! At the point when I know a travel album is winding down, I realize I greatly overbought for it, and suddenly my last few pages each have gobs of themed embellishment clusters. LOL!😀

I printed all my photos today for the remainder of my travel album. I just need a couple little spots of journaling and embellishing. I’m hoping I can finish it up this week. Then I probably should move onto the next unfinished project - I have last years December daily and last years summer travelers notebooks. I have a bunch of work to do in this years travelers notebooks too. My goal is to empty out all the little bags of projects floating around my scrapbook space.

I cleaned up my desk today and put all my summer and camping themed supplies together. As I looked through all those collections and supplies and other collections and supplies I thought to myself that I shouldn't buy anything else for a very long time. I've been frozen starting since July 1st. I'll see how long I can keep this going. I've been shopping out of boredom and I need to stop that and use what I have. Going through my supplies makes older stuff seem new again anyway.

I've been shopping out of boredom and I need to stop that and use what I have. I think that’s been my problem. Although maybe not exactly ‘boredom’ per se but filling the void where pre-pandemic activities used to be. Seeing family, going to craft classes, eating out, regular in person shopping. All those things are gone and there’s quite a bit of ‘void’ to fill. I should just scrap and not shop. Duh.

Sounds like lots of pages "in the book" and projects finished or nearly finished. Good job, everyone! Hope you had some fun, too.
After the Scrap Smarter Experience last weekend, I have been busy finishing up the page kits I put together while watching the on line classes. I tend to think about scrapping by the photos I have and the stories I want to tell, so whenever an idea struck me about how I could use a particular technique with something I wanted to scrap anyway, I threw the photos into a big Ziploc and started gathering papers and other supplies that would work. Added a sticky to remind me to use the technique. And since Monday, I have been emptying out those bags.
If you ladies like sketches, SKETCHtember will be running all next month on the Challenges board. You can use one or use them all, print them off or "fav" the thread that links all the sketches for later use, or play along with us as some people try to complete something for each sketch during the month of September.
