I'm considering getting one of these to put in my kitchen. I like that they are machine washable. Does any one have experience with them? Do you like them? ruggable.com/

I'd love to hear how people like them! I'm thinking about getting one, but I don't now if I can trust my dog and I'm not sure how the pad will hold up if she pees on the carpet.

I’ve wondered about them as well. If you google ruggable reviews lots of hits come up. Read the ones NOT posted on the ruggable site though. Those seem to be “curated.”

Someone posted to get reviews in my little town’s Facebook page - there were lots of positive reviews - main negative is that they aren’t plush at all and sometimes curl at the corner.

I have one - a runner in my kitchen. Overall I like it. Have washed it twice - the process is easy and it washes well. The bottom pad does seem to be somewhat waterproof - I feel like it would at least help keep the majority of pet pee off any wall-to-wall carpet underneath. Ours is in front of our sink to keep water spills off the hardwood. I wouldn't ever let large spills just sit there though. I am having a problem with the corners curling up a bit. Not sure why. That's about the only negative from my perspective. Let me know if you have any other questions! ETA photos: rug when brand new slight curl at corners now

They are a 2 part system. One the pretty top layer and then an under layer. Are they waterproof? Because otherwise, you would have to wash both.
I don’t think that I care for a thin rug that curls. But then, we are a Lab family and they are known for bladders of steel. Unfortunately, they can be habitual vomiters, but we’ve been lucky enough to not have an issue with that.

I have several. They are easy to wash. They are not plush, but the colors are wonderful. The edges do curl a bit after washing (I've washed one, after our dog threw up on it). The velcro-ish under piece is a little bit smaller than the rug itself, hence the edges curling.
We have a rug at the door, three runners that go from the door to the back of the house, and a rug at the back door. Our lab is old and getting a grip on the hardwood floors made walking tough for her, so the rugs are for traction. I'm pretty happy with them, in terms of their intended use.

I’ve had one for a couple years now. I agree with everything that has already been said.
The bottom pad is not washable but does seem to be moisture resistant. The top pad is thin and more velour-like then carpet-like but it washes very nicely. The corners do curl and edges ripple slightly since it’s been washed.
My carpet is a 3x5 and lining it up and getting it even and flat on the backing is a challenge and often takes a few tries but might be a trick that I don’t know to getting it lined up.
All in all I like how well and how easy it is to wash. it is by my back door and is very low profile so the door clears it easily when opened.
I have had it for a couple years now and like it well enough but probably wouldn’t replace it with another one unless they fixed the corner curl and edge ripples.

We have 2 8x10 rugs which we have had for 3 or 4 years now. The company recently replaced one of my rugs free of charge because the dining room rug had shrunk to where you could see the pad underneath. The shrinkage was totally my fault because I continually dried the rug on a higher temp than was recommended in the instructions. Anyway, the new rug has a slight design change from the old rug. There's a corner slot underneath the rug at each corner that helps you position the pad and rug easier and probably helps with the corners curling. (Sorry hard to explain here but kind of like old-fashion photo corners that you slip photos into.) Anyway, if you have dogs or kids then these rugs are good option.

I haven’t had to wash either yet but I really like them. I use the floor attachment on my vacuum instead of the regular rotary head and they vacuum up very well. My corners aren’t curling yet, but since they have little pockets on the undersides in the corner I was thinking of getting some metal “L” brackets from the hardware store and inserting them into the pockets to help keep the corners flat. So far I’m pleased with them. The fact that I can throw them in the washer if necessary is a plus .

Wonder if that is just a feature of the bigger rugs or a new thing to try and add a little weight and keep the corners from curling?

I have a runner. It is fine as a runner and looks good. It isn’t thick enough that I would want it as a rug in the middle of a room.

I HATE MY RUGGABLE. I bought the 5x7 and I can never get it to lay flat.... and once you wash it you have to deal with gettingit back on the pad, straight, with no wrinkles. IT SUCKS. It is rolled up in the garage. what a waste of money....

I really wanted a pretty colorful one for my kitchen but that would really bother me. Glad for this thread!

Hmmm. The corner curling could be an issue for us. I’m curious about ordering a sample though. My other concern was it being the right undertones for the gray I was looking at. Thanks for all the replies!

We have several ruggables and the latest one I bought (in May) has has the new feature to not let the corners curl up. I love them! You can also buy different rug tops for a lot less money if you want to have a seasonal rug or change the look. I’m very happy and the free shipping to Canada is a nice bonus.

I just bought a second one and put it down today! Both are in front of my kitchen sinks. The first one is the one I just got, it’s at my lake house. The second one is at home. Loved the first one enough to buy the second. No curling issues for me, they lay very flat. They are soft underfoot and do have the waterproof pad (enough that spills won’t get through to the hardwood). I like that they can be washed easily (because of course a cat will always choose to barf on a rug instead of the bare floor 🙄). Good luck deciding! Lisa B.

Those rugs look super cute, I've wondered about them.
Would magnets sewn onto the curling edge and the underlayer solve the curling problem?

We have one in our family room and love it. It washes beautifully and we’ve washed it often because we have 2 dogs.
It can curl at the edges but we’ve found if we vacuum the edges when putting it back down after washing it the edges stay down just fine.
We have a pretty large one but it fits in our washer well.

I have one in my entry and I really like it. I've had it for 6ish months and I actually like that it is not plush for that area of my house. I'd love another for my kitchen but don't think I'd put one in my family living space since they are not as cozy as I like a rug to be. Would definitely buy again for a high traffic area of my house.
