Old thread that I'm bumping for two reasons..... 1. I've seen many threads through the years from "Hamilton" fans, and thought some of you would find these parodies as funny as I do. Also, I want more people to know about this awesome show !!! 2. I also wanted to talk about the latest ( Season 11 ) of "Curb" and see what y'all think. There are definitely several LOL moments I especially loved seeing hottie John Hamm over-using Yiddish words. **And whoa----seeing Lt. Col. Vindman (Trump impeachment witness) guest star was sooo cool and funny! We kept saying how FUN it would have been to watch the taping / bloopers of this episode, and what it took to get him on the show! He looked a bit nervous to me. ------------------------------------- (Original Post ) I thought "Hamilton" fans should know about some episodes of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (HBO) where Lin Manuel Miranda guest starred. He and Larry write a musical called "Fatwa" that is hilarious and brilliant! I'm not much of a fan of musicals, but I loved this !!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=oB0ijifKt2c

Also, if you're a fan of the musical "The Producers", there are also many episodes of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" where Larry David gets a role with the cast on Broadway. It was so fun to see Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Mel Brookes, Anne Bancroft, etc !!!
"Curb Your Enthusiasm" is one of my all-time fave shows, even without all these brilliant musical episodes and major guest stars!

Curb Your Enthusiasm is one of my favorite shows, so I've seen them all (more than once.)
Love it.

peabay ....Oh goodie! A fellow "Curb" fan replied! With allllll the "Hamilton" / Lin Manuel Miranda fans here, I thought some would LOL over those clips I posted....but I was very wrong! I'm sure you'd agree those epis were just brilliant, so I wanted to share! And I don't even like musicals! (Nick Offerman, F. Murray Abraham, Mel Brooks, et al were also a huge added treat, dontcha think?) lucyg .....HOW can you not love "Curb" and Larry David ? Sorry, I have to block you now. I will really miss ya! Also, I just woke up from a nap and am verrry grogggy. I was going to your links, sooo excited to see the stamps. I thought the first ones were quasi caricatures of Larry David and the cast of "Curb" .....ROFL !!!!!!!!! (those little history people are so cute, though!)

And the show keeps getting better. My favorite was this season when Larry wears the MAGA hat because it keeps people away from him. Absolutely brilliant.

scrappintoee, I didn’t much like Seinfeld, either. BUT if you like the Kindred stamps, look around the web site. They also have a Seinfeld-related set, called New York Comedy or maybe NYC Comedy, I forget exactly. I bought it because my BIL loves Seinfeld almost more than life itself.

And I saw somewhere (wish I could link it) that cheeto thought it was great!!! He ACTUALLY thought Larry David was a supporter !!!! Gee, ya think cheeto has ANY sense of satire or irony? lucyg.....Oops, I forgot to block you, but now that you've told me you don't like Seinfeld (gasp!!), I won't forget! But seriously, DH and loved it when it was on, but when we try to watch reruns, we're kinda "meh" and don't usually finish the whole epi. My bestie's DH is like your bil with "Seinfeld"...he has every special edition DVD they put out, watched (still watches?) CONSTANTLY, quotes it all. the. time. Back in the day, I loved seeing the special edition boxed sets they'd sell, because they came with fun little miniatures from the show (like a Barbie-sized puffy shirt, items from the diner they hung out in, etc.) I'm now gonna highjack my own thread, lucy. Do you like "King of Queens?"...DH, my Dad and I have watched each epi a million times, and we quote it ALL. THE. TIME. Jerry Stiller is succch a hoot---wayyy funnier than he was on "Seinfeld."

scrappintoee, I’m sorry to have to tell you, I’ve never seen a moment of King of Queens. I do understand it is quite beloved. Just not much of a TV watcher. I did watch Big Bang Theory and I loved it, but I still haven’t finished watching the final season. I just have trouble making myself sit down and watch. I also haven’t watched the last two seasons of Downton Abbey, which I also loved.

How have I missed this show? The Producers is one of my favorite movies w/Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel and I really wanted to see it on Broadway. I must watch.

Another Larry David fan here. Plus Curb. But - Cheryl bugged the heck out of me. Although, I’m sure that was the way we were supposed to feel. LD is a genius.

I'm so glad you have a new FUN show to watch! I just love Lin Manuel Miranda's interview about the process of re-creating a musical with Larry David! When you mentioned Zero Mostel, it reminded me of the "Fiddler On The Roof" album we listened to over and over as kids.

I saw Fiddler on the Roof w/the original Tevya, Topel and as much as I loved the album w/Zero Mostel, Topel was born to play the role.

scrapmaven .....Wow that you saw "Fiddler" with the original cast ! My Dad would be so jealous! I think he got to see "Chicago" with the original cast on Broadway. He's also seen several others in New York, D.C., and other big cities. Maybe he and you were at the same performance sometime! If you're a fan of Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft, they guest star on one or two epis of "Curb", too. Oh, and here's a funny thing I forgot to mention, even though I LOVED those musical episodes of "Curb," ( because with Larry David, *almost* everything is funny) ---I don't actually like musicals. I WANT to like them, but....nope! I enjoy hearing the music from them----I just don't want to watch them. DH and I have a joke that when we're watching something, and the characters unexpectedly break into song, we get annoyed! Nooo singing.......we just want them to continue TALKING!

I read a little fluff article about Larry David in the New York Times during the covid shutdown. His daughters said that in real life he hates conflict of any kind. The daughters said that when they were little they used to have "silent fights" because if their dad caught them fighting he would get so upset. After I read that article it struck me that Larry on the show is probably the alter ego of the real life Larry and that's why we all love the show so much. Larry gets to do and say anything he wants w/out worrying about the consequences, which would be a great feeling (except for the fact you wouldn't have any friends and your family would hate you. )
