I have a girlfriend I need to get a birthday present for. 46 yo, not a lot of hobbies to speak of, big family person. I am totally drawing a blank right now; I’m just not out there shopping and browsing stores anymore and seeing what’s new and popular. Whatever I get her, I will order online.
Any ideas for me? Have you bought anything fun and new lately?

I’ve bought my friends the Sephora shower brown sugar scrub for presents and it has been well received. I don’t remember how much it is but if it isn’t enough maybe you can add something in.

I think flowers are always nice! And surprisingly, you can order fresh bouquets from Amazon that are pretty nice.

My go-to site for gifts for sister or girlfriends is Kendra Scott jewelry. I always sign up for the 15% off coupon and you can get something very close to $50. www.kendrascott.com

I like to browse etsy for girlfriend gifts. Maybe some pretty zipper pouches for her purse with an Ulta gift card or office supply gift card? (I love pens more than makeup! Hahaha!)

What about a gift certificate for a place that will print photo tiles or collages or something - some new family art to hang on her wall.

I'd look on Etsy. It's probably too late this year, but Stitch People portraits are always well received.

1/2 oz of weed. This cracked me up, as in high school it was common consensus that everyone who smoked pot was old. It was something parents did, not cool at all. Now, at the age of 40 (ish) I realized it was because they had to cope with us! lol....

I wouldn’t like *any* of those things! I would rather have a fruit bouquet from Edible Arrangements than flowers. I would rather have good chocolate than jewelry. Maybe some of those chocolate dipped strawberries from Shari’s Berries or some other consumable gift? I’m at the stage of my life where I have all of the affordable things I want or need so random stuff ends up being clutter that I have to deal with.

Does she have an Amazon wish list? I don’t know your girlfriend, but I do know what I would want ... either an Amazon gift card or a fun new phone case.

Ha, I feel similarly — if someone doesn’t know what I would actually want, I’d rather get something that won’t stick around and clutter up my house...and actually be useful! My other thought is something utilitarian but something you might not splurge for on your own. Like a set of nice sheets. This is assuming she doesn’t have sensitive skin and isn’t picky.

Since she's family person does she cook a lot? If so, what about a pretty pasta bowl set?

Thanks to everyone who has replied! There's a wide range of ideas here. I'm going to start working through them to see what's possible to pull off.
Many thanks for giving me the kick start that I needed.

Does she work out? What about a top from athleta and a headband? My girlfriend gave me that once for my birthday and I loved it.
Or a Swell water bottle?

A YouTuber I watch received a Swarovski drop/dangle suncatcher as a gift. It came from Etsy, and it was beautiful when she showed it. I may have to buy one for myself. . You could make a comment about wanting to give your friend a rainbow. The Etsy shop is named DobiDesigns.

I sent my good friend a bouquet of flowers for her birthday a couple of weeks ago. I found a local to her florist and ordered from there. She LOVED it! Said it made her smile and think of me every time she looked at it.

I ordered a spa sort of kit from Etsy. Soaps, candles, etc. My friend has a lot of stress in her life right now, so I thought it might be a good gift. She said that liked it. Apparently these kits are big sellers.

What does she like to eat/drink? Maybe a tasting kit - I've seen nice ones for chocolate, gin.

get her what you think she will like from a store that does returns. include the gift receipt, so she can exchange if it is a miss. makes gifting SOOO much easier.
