If you have it please tell me about it.
Can a whole family use it or does it have to be charged per user?
If a family can use it do I create an account per user using their Apple ID?
We don’t have an Alexa and we don’t use Siri. I don’t know if that makes a difference or not. Speakers—I have one Bose portable that could be used with Apple Music.
Hmmm, I don’t know what else to ask. So please share your knowledge.
Thanks!!

We have Apple Music and really like it. If you want an individual account, it is $9.99/mo. A Family Share plan is $14.99/mo. One of you will be the main member, then you set up Family Share and invite the others. They will each need their own Apple ID. Each person will have their own play lists, so they don't get mingled. You can download any music you want. Just be sure you are doing so under the Browse tab and not the Store tab. Learned that after I bought a couple of albums I didn't intend to! While I have an Echo dot, I don't listen to it often. You don't need Alexa or Siri. I play mine via bluetooth in my car all the time though, as well as my Bose headphones when at home. I also play it on my computer (Mac). If you have a smart tv, then you can play it via the tv as well. ETA: And I am positive that elaine could explain that more clearly and in fewer words! Perhaps she'll pop in and help out.

Apple does have a family plan. You should have no problem using your Bose speaker with it.

College kids get a discount. If that helps.

Have it, love it. We have two teens and they use it all the time. A couple of my favorite features:
“Siri play some upbeat music “ and she gives me songs that pick me up.
“Siri play some relaxing music” - and she gives me songs that help me slow down for bed.
“Siri play Old Dominion” and she plays all of their songs.

Perhaps she'll pop in and help out. You did a great job! My playlists live on my iPhone and iPad, my husband’s live on his, and my kids’ live on theirs. As long as you have an Apple device and a Bluetooth speaker/headphones/car connection, you can play anything any time. It is great to be driving and say “hey Siri, play album Films About Ghosts by Counting Crows” and he seamlessly does it for me. You have Apple’s immense music library to stream or download, in case you’ll be in spotty cell/wi-fi coverage. You’ll lose anything you’ve downloaded and haven’t purchased once you stop subscribing, or course, but it is so nice not to have to purchase music and play that song that was your favorite during your senior year of high school only one time when you are feeling nostalgic, without plunking down money to buy it.

DS and I share the one person subscription. We got it when it was a promo for $5 a month. This worked great when he was in school all day and I was at work. I would listen during the day, then he would use it at night.
If I’m using it, and he connects, my music stops. But I can steal it back. When this happens the user who loses the connection is reminded that only one person can use it at a time. No biggie. We have an arrangement that works. And I’m now paying $10 for it. I like it so much, that it’s worth it to me. But not enough that I need a family version. My son can suffer.

You've gotten great technical info. I'll just add that I've had it for quite a while, love it, wouldn't be without it.

I will add that occasionally Costco sells an apple gift card $100 for $84 or $89. I buy that to help the sting of it

I have it and love it. Those above have covered your questions. I'm kind of excited, I saw something recently about Apple will soon offer a combined package with I think storage and arcade (I'm sure you don't have to have all,but we will see). I pay extra for storage, so this is exciting to me!!

If you are a Verizon cell phone plan person, with a certain level of service (unlimited something) it is free for you.
