I got on Facebook last night and saw the most startling thing from my cousin's wife. They had a baby boy yesterday! It was startling because I had no idea she was pregnant, and from the comments, neither did anyone else!
She's pretty active on FB, puts up lots of pictures of their four other kids, so it really was such a surprise to see this baby boy seemingly out of the blue. She said she was entering her second trimester when all the covid shutdowns happened, and she was feeling nervous about her health, so just decided not to announce anything, and then she wasn't seeing anyone anyway, so they just decided to keep it a fun secret. (I'm sure they told their parents and immediate family!)
Anyway. I have an adorable new baby cousin. It's nice to get a little happy news for once.

Wow, that's crazy. as in how things are different/changed since covid.
What would have been common and obcious news, isn't so much anymore.
Congrats!

That is a story that is a sign of the times. Congratulations on your new cousin. When do you get to meet him?

That’s such a fun story! Last night I was just browsing on IG and saw a video of a grandmother meeting her new grandchild in the hospital. She was sitting cuddling her grandchild when her SIL wheeled in a second bassinet - they had twins and decided not to announce it to anyone. Grandma was so confused and shocked.

I 100% would have done this if I were pregnant right now. I would love to disappear for 7 months and reappear with a baby. And not have to hear “Are you sure it’s not twins??” every day.

That is a story that is a sign of the times. Congratulations on your new cousin. When do you get to meet him? At least not until there's a covid vaccine, and then at whatever family reunion happens after that. He'll probably be a toddler, sigh.

I just received an announcement for a cousin's pregnancy. I have no idea how far along she is - but they said it's a boy, so she's at least halfways along. It is nice to be surprised with stuff like this.
