Hello everyone!
We are finally breaking free and attending the Chihuly exhibit at the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus tomorrow. We will be staying in the Polaris area overnight.
I would appreciate your recommendations for privately owned, mom and pop style restaurants. We do not care for chain restaurants. We are open to all cuisine options, but prefer something at least somewhat healthy.
Thank you so very much!

Go to York Steak House. It is the only one left of the chain, bought and run by a manager. Family prices and good food. It was my first job in PA. It is on my bucket list to go here. I am not sure if they have outside dining, as I am not local to it.

Starliner is a good call! Their sweet potato fries are delicious. Moretti’s is good Italian - there is one on Sawmill Parkway and one in Upper Arlington. (Would be between Polaris and Franklin Park).
I am going to the Chihuly nights tonight - enjoy!

North Market is a good, casual place for lunch with so many cuisine options.
Also, Northstar Cafe has lots of healthy options.

I know exactly one restaurant in that area. It was many moons ago, but was fantastic. Starliner Diner!

My go to places when I visit Columbus are Katzinger's Deli, Brassica in Short North (technically now a local OH chain as they opened more locations- I love their hummus plate with brisket! Have never had that combo anywhere else) and a little hole in the wall sort of place for breakfast/brunch is Cafe Illyria, an Albanian place. Not sure I would consider Katzinger's particularly healthy but they do have salads. Brassica is Mediteranian.

I love love love Katzingers Deli. I first started going there in 1987 when I was in grad school. The last time I went was when we visited Columbus 2 years ago.
