Hey Survivors! Here is what my DVR says about the episode tonight: "Another contestant is voted out of the game." Well, that's helpful From the previews last week, it looked like there could be some drama surrounding Reed and Josh within their tribe ... I hope Reed doesn't get sent home because he's my dude in the Pea Pool

I hope Jeremy and Natalie do okay after the merge. I'm worried though because it looks like Baylor is Turning on them.

The ending was a bit anticlimactic. I look forward to the merge because game play really starts - I would have liked to see which sides were chosen tonight.

Well I didn't care for how she left the game, but I'm glad she's gone. I'm also glad they didn't forge ahead with tribal council, even if it was anticlimactic. This way it gives those that were in her alliance a little bit of time to strategize.
To me, she's one of those women that thinks the world hates her because she's big breasted and beautiful. No, it might be because everyone knows you think everyone hates you because you're big breasted and beautiful. Her attitude was very selfish and she sure loved her sob story.

Well I'm out of the pool but hey she really didn't deserve to be there. She stole and hid food and then quit. Ugh. Ds and I are out but Dd still has a chance with Jacqueline

I should add that I really like Jeremy - rooting for him but he'd better win some immunity and fast!

Ugh, I am not liking this season. Maybe it will pick up again after they *finally* get going. I want to see two challenges! (two full-tribe challenges) And good riddance to Julie. I thought it was pretty funny when Jeff reminded her that kids go to summer camp for longer than she'd been apart from what's-his-name! hahaha I was thinking pretty much the same thing while she was whining on about being separated. Why in the world can't a grown woman be away from "her man" for more than five minutes? Good Lord, think of all the military families who do it. My dh (not military) travels a lot -- in fact he's been away for most of the past two months. Of course we miss him but that's life. For a chance at a million dollars, or even a chance to be on "Survivor", I'd like to think that adults could be apart from their spouse for that time. sheesh Dumb challenge. Let's get the more physical ones going. One challenge and a dumb one at that = boring. Yes, I know that they usually only have one challenge on merge day, but I'm just annoyed overall about the challenges because of the stupid thing of having only two people participate in the reward challenge. I hope the producers hear complaints about this season from a lot of people!

The one tribe had gone through food like crazy, and it seemed from the editing they did the same with what they brought back from the feast. Actually, I don't blame her at all for hiding food.
I can't believe that everyone thought it was okay to go through her bag while she was gone. What if she would have had an idol?
That said, I didn't care for her and am glad she's gone. Agree with the above, no one likes you because you're snotty and are dating a jerk, not because you have boobs. She totally quit because she didn't want to get yelled at about hiding the food.
Jeremy will now go on and win five immunity challenges in a row. :-)

I wasn't sorry to see her go and her reasons were beyond lame, I agree. And I'm with JustTricia on the food thing. This group seems to plow thru food like they're on a cruise! Was the feast on a different day than the day they searched her bag? Please say it was, because if not, how did they even remember the trail mix? Was all the other food they brought back gone already? And even when they found the trail mix (don't even get me started on how wrong going thru her bag was), they plowed right thru that, like they hadn't eaten in weeks! Again, have they never watched the show? Rationing, people. Sheesh. And the challenge was pretty lame. It had little to do w/skill and more to do w/how lucky you were to have the right spot. Once the wind blew, it was all over for ya. The only good thing, for me, was that w/no Tribal we get to see them gel for a couple more days before we see where everyone's true alliances are. Can't believe Missy & Baylor still have that many 'friends'. Boggles my mind. I also can't believe they aren't trying to break up the couples. Having an alliance of 2 people was a great idea going into the merge, but now it's just a guarantee of 2 people who will never vote against each other. Bad odds, if you ask me. We'll see how it all plays out, I guess.

I wonder if her only reason for coming on the show was because John wanted to (?). And with him gone she had no reason to stay. (?) She is certainly someone I won't miss but man, it sure irritates me when people just walk out of these reality shows. Thousands of people want the chance to do this and these people that get the chance and then just quit make me mad. I wasn't sorry to see her go and her reasons were beyond lame, I agree. They need to learn to ration or they're going to run out again! Overall, this has been the most boring season of Survivor, ever. I even fell asleep last night!

I agree with pretty much what everyone has already said. I hate seeing a player quit too.
As far as them going through her bag...totally WRONG!! Where in the hell to people think it's okay to go through another persons personal belongings is beyond me. Was it wrong for her to hide food...probably, but that does not give anyone the right to go through her bag. Do I understand why she hid the food...YUP...this is a group of greedy contestants that can't seem to learn self control and ration your food.
I'm glad for Jeremy that it went down this way....hopefully, he will be able to forge some new alliance members and get others on his side and win some immunity challenges along the way.
My guy in the pool was Dale so I'm out, but I like Jeremy and Natalie the most so would love to see one of them win it all.

I think John is so wishy washy. It's like whoever talks to him last is who he goes with. I was so disappointed that Jeremy looked like he was going home. He's my favorite. Natalie is next. I actually like the gay couple (they're my dd's favorite) but I can't root for them because they're after my Jeremy. Can someone remind me who has idols? I know Keith does, but who else? Julie leaving was ridiculous. And I thought she got off easy. She should have had to go to TC and Jeff should have tore into her. Remember the first guy to quit survivor--Osten? Jeff belittled him and tossed his torch on the ground. Julie should have got the same. This is the problem when you recruit. Rocker was not a fan of the show, he didn't watch and he didn't apply--he was recruited. And Julie just came along for the ride. Stop, stop, STOP doing this survivor producers! ETA: edited about a hundered typos out. I need to stop posting from my phone! Also adding Dalton's recap and Jeff's Q and A.

I don't have much to add, last night's show was rather boring. Julie brought nothing to the show/tribe so it's just as well she left. I'm glad Jeremy got to stay, since he's one of my pool players . I hope he can figure something out for next week, or win immunity.

I thought Julie was treated unfairly during trail-mix-gate. She said that she hadn't eaten her share and wanted to save it for later since the others were eating everything in sight. I can't say that putting some aside for later is a bad idea. She should have stood up for herself rather than walking off.
On the flip side, I absolutely hated her "I have to do what is right for me." attitude. People pull that out when they know they are being selfish. I don't like quitters, and I really had to wonder if she quit before the jury began to go on vacation with Rocker (and the others). If she had waited a week, he would be off traveling without her. At least, I really hope they didn't give her a spot on the jury - that would make me mad.

I agree that it doesn't excuse her--recruited or applied, once you make the decision to do it, you need to commit.

At least, I really hope they didn't give her a spot on the jury - that would make me mad. I disagree about Julie being treated unfairly. Who say's she didn't eat her share? Her? And what is "her share" anyway? She's much smaller than the majority of her tribemates and she doesn't work nearly as hard and sits out on more challenges--I don't think she needs as much as most if not all of them. Regardless, they all saw her dump the trail mix in her bag and they all grabbed some food to take back. When you're on a tribe, you share the food. Hoarding it wasn't right IMO and from a game perspective was really stupid. When people are starving, food is everything. You hoard some for yourself, you have instantly become a target--someone the tribe doesn't like or trust. Should they have searched her bag? In real life that is a huge no-no, but so are talking behind people's backs, lying, eavesdropping, backstabbing, etc. But those are all fair play in the game. I might have considered going through her bag if I was them; I'll just be honest about that. And people know that their bags are sometimes gone through. That's why so many people hide the idol when they find it instead of keeping it in their bag--you just don't know. In any case, she was a bad player who added nothing to the game and I'm glad she's gone so that real players like Jeremy and Josh can stay in another few days anyway.

There's nothing much I can add except that I agree with almost everything Jackie has said (as usual). I was a bit shocked to read through the replies and see so many Peas say that they didn't blame Julie for hiding the Trail Mix, or that they would've done the same, or that they understood why she did it and that it was okay. No it's NOT! In any kind of survival situation real or imaginary (for the show-but it's sort of real because they do have a very limited supply of food and they are starving so let's call it half real) the worst thing you can do in a group situation is hoard or steal food. Everyone is in the same boat. Everyone is starving. For one person to hoard or steal and have a stash of secret food-that's a huge, oh geez, well it's so wrong I can't even think of the correct word to call it at the moment.
They had the Merge and they all had their feast and were happy with the picnic and socializing. They decided, hey let's take some of this left over stuff back to camp instead of wasting it so they gathered up everything (you could see them carrying baskets and grills) through the paths in the jungle to the camp. What we didn't see off camera I think is that they then shared that left over food over the next day, it was all out in the open and what was left over was seen by all of the members and shared. What Julie did that was so wrong was that she decided "F'them, I'm taking care of myself, me and only me" when she dumped that big bowl of trail mix in her bag, refused to show it to anyone else, refused to bring it out to be shared with anyone else and decided to keep it a big secret.
Talk about mistrust and putting a huge target on your back. But it isn't even as simple as that. You are taking food out of the mouths of your team mates. The people you are supposed to be in an alliance with! How low can you get? They are starving and you are off lying on your butt in the sun fantasizing that women hate you because you have big boobs and are beautiful. Yeah, right. Keep telling yourself that.
I'm glad Julie quit. I could see it coming from last week when that storm hit and she was so cold. But it's more than just being cold-that passed over in one night. It wasn't like it went on for days and days like we've seen in past seasons. Now that might have been a decent reason. I agree with you Monklady123-when Jeff was describing the time kids spend away from their parents at camp while she was trying to explain how she just couldn't go on because she was separated from her loved one-that was hilarious! It's Survivor and if you don't to be there and can't handle it, then by gosh don't agree to do it-give someone else a chance who really does want to be on the show.
I agree 100% with you Jackie! I hope the Survivor Producers start learning a lesson and quit recruiting so many of these people! They don't even have to recruit-I think they have more than enough applicants just from regular folks that want to be on Survivor.
So far my favourites are (and I have to agree with your DD Jackie-the gay couple), Natalie and I think Jeremy. The two I can't stand are Missy and Baylor, MIssy especially. Oh my gosh, I felt like throwing my shoe through my TV last night when she was talking to Baylor and telling her to "Just listen to what your Mama is telling you" while she advised her to lie to Reed's face (I think it was Reed, may have been Josh-I get them mixed up) and just smile while doing it. Yeah, like she's such a wealth of wisdom.
Let me ask you something? Why, oh why, oh why have Missy and Baylor made it so far? Baylor has shown herself to be untrustworthy since the beginning and it seems that not that many on the island like Missy so why are they both still there? It's a mystery I can't solve, but I wish they were gone.
And I agree with whoever it was that said Julie better not make it onto the jury. That's an honour she doesn't deserve.

I can think of something just as selfish as hoarding food in your bag, going through it like there's a grocery store around the corner. If there hadn't been a shortage earlier in the season due to sheer stupidity, I would say hoarding it was completely wrong. But as it is, even after reading your side, I still see why *someone* would do so this season.

We never see the full story. Let's say that they were passing the bowl of trail mix around and everyone took a big handful. It gets to Julie, and she wants to save her handful for later, so she puts it in her bag. That should be OK, IMO, even in Survivor. That is kind of what she implied happened (haven't listened to any exit interviews yet...will be interested in what she is saying now). However, we all know she was sneaky about it and that was (again, IMO) the problem. The other players also could have asked her about it rather than making passive aggressive comments. That is pretty much never the right way to go.

After reading Jeff's Q&A (thanks for the link Jackie) Julie will not be on the jury. Actually they think that is one of the reasons she quit rather than just asking everyone to vote her out at tribal council that night. Because by quitting she gets to go to the group of Survivors where her boyfriend is (the first group). If she'd asked to get voted out she would have been on the jury and wouldn't have gone to Ponderosa (spelling?) a different place, and wouldn't have seen John until after the game ended. She wanted to see him right away so that's why she quit, and so therefore she won't be on the jury. Yippee to that. I just didn't think a person who quit deserved a place on the jury personally.

Julie didn't just save her portion of the Trail Mix even if that is what she is trying to imply now. Watch the show again if you can. You can see right there on the screen-she dumps the entire, huge bowl of Trail Mix into her bag. So it wasn't just her portion-it was everyone's portion. That is what made it so wrong.

Julie was a useless piece of fluffy who served no purpose on the island. Bye, bye!!
The fact she couldn't be away from her man just made me want to gag. I suspect she is the type that has to be up his ass all the time to make sure he isn't cheating. If she had stayed she would have been on the jury with no way out to keep her eye on him. The worse part in my opinion is that her taste in men speaks volumes. She focus on her breasts and looks, says she doesn't have much else to offer.
I agree about ending the recruitment of "names" to play the game. I believe the show would be just as popular, if not more so, with every day people playing. Forget casting for looks, it almost always backfires.

Oh and one more thing....I keep coming back to the fact, at least as we're shown on TV, that these people are not actively searching for food. Instead they seem to be sitting around moaning, and eating through their food supply like crazy. There was one scene at one point that showed crabs running across the beach. Why aren't they out there trying to catch them?? Not just one that happens to stumble into them at the wrong time (I think there was one point when they were roasting a crab on a stick?). Remember one season not too long ago when they were out hunting and hunting and hunting crabs? There was another season (or maybe the crab hunting one, I don't remember) when they found snails. I remember that because it showed them smashing the snails' shells and putting the meat in a pot.
I just don't understand these people this season. There is no such thing as a beach that doesn't have *something* to eat on it. Or at least let's say that there's no such thing as a beach that doesn't have something you can TRY TO CATCH. ugh.

Dumbest reason ever to quit. dh says, and I agree, they should make a rule that if you quit for anything other than medical reasons, you lose whatever money you would have earned. Although if there are special circumstances like when Jenna's mom died that's different.
I thought there was a rule that you couldn't look in someone else's bag!

I hated how Julie quit, there are so many people who try out for Survivor and never get the opportunity she did, she didn't deserve to be there.
In regards to the trail mix I found it funny that when they got the reward meal for the merge no one seemed to be worried about if everyone got equal portions of all the food, everyone was just grabbing what they bloody well wanted and yet they freaked out over some nuts and dried fruit. If everyone really wanted to be fair about the food rationing they would have divided all the food up from that meal equally at the beginning, for that matter same goes with the rice all season.
I was super impressed with Keith and how well he did in the challenge and Wes too! He is my pick for the pool go Team Wes!!
