I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I was in the middle of FaceTiming with my mother and all of a sudden my microphone went off. It will not allow me to turn it back on.
After googling it looks like FaceTime is not listen under my privacy - microphone settings. This is both on my phone and my iPad. I can’t find any information on how to fix.
Has anybody experienced this? I guess I will have to contact Apple support...but I have never had to do that either and don’t really want to. I always been able to fix my little problems with google. Hahaha.
Probably along shot but thought I would ask. Thanks in advance for any help or information you can share.

That is all that I could find with google...but I have never really looked at those setting so I couldn’t verify that. I did use voice memo to see if I could record on my iPad and I was able to. Thanks again for taking the time to look and respond.

Thanks pinklady . I did read and look at/try most of those, except for the restore to default settings. I will keep looking and prepare myself to deal with Apple support. 😉😄

This sounds dumb but did you just try restarting your phone? We don't turn our smart phones off much, sometimes a simple reboot fixes things

I did reboot my iPad (because that was what I was on when it went out) but I never restarted my phone. It was only later that I thought to see if I had issues with FaceTime on my phone and saw that I had the same issue. I will try that.

Did you press MUTE by accident?
That might of caused it too.

Did you call her on Facetime again? Or used it again? I'm asking because we (people in my area) have been having problems with cell service. The sound will fade away and then just be gone. It's been ongoing for awhile now and will happen several minutes into a phone call. It's random and not every time.

Haven't had that happen but I would also suggest turning phone off and rebooting to see if that helps it get "unstuck".

Thanks for all the responses. I did reboot my phone and my iPad again earlier this morning. My niece called me this afternoon and everything was okay. 🤷♀️ I really don’t know what happened but both are working now so I am not looking a gift horse in the mouth. 😄.
