I bought a paperwhite in March because our libraries closed. I still prefer real books, but love that I can buy lots of books for $.99 on my paperwhite.
When I read during the day, I really have to enlarge print because I have my contacts in. But I feel like I am "turning the page" a lot because of the larger print. Is the oasis big enough that you don't have to turn the page as much (I hope that makes sense). I am trying to decide if it's worth the extra expense.
I am thinking about reading my real books at night when I have my contacts out. And reading a different book on the kindle during the day when I have my contacts in and I can't read a real book (reading glasses give me headaches). A kindle is the only way I read during the day.

No, it really isn’t significantly larger. All the Kindles are small enough to be managed/held with one hand. I love my Oasis, but wouldn’t recommend buying it simply for a larger screen (because it isn’t significantly bigger).

That's the only reason I was going to look into it. I can't justify switching otherwise because my paperwhite is great in every other way. And I still prefer to read my library books, but so many pros to the kindle so I am happy to have it!

I also need a large print. Had an appt for reading glasses script with my ophthalmologist back in March that got cancelled and apparently I’m low priority so once the offices were allowed to open again I’m stuck waiting.
The kindle is the only way I can read.
From what I understand the oasis screen isn’t that much bigger. I’m interested in the auto adjusted light as the lighting helps me see too. Is the auto adjuster light worth it? Does it work well. I also like the warm light but can live without that.

I have both the oasis and paperwhite, and I actually prefer the paperwhite. The oasis has the side buttons for turning the page, and somehow I accidentally turn the page constantly. I think I’m just adjusting my position or adjusting the way I’m holding the kindle, and in the process, I’m accidentally pushing those buttons. I use my paperwhite 95% of the time.

I pulled the trigger and got the oasis on the prime day special. My paper white is over five years old and while I love it, it’s a little glitchy. So, I treated myself, will see how it goes!

The Oasis has a page turn button which was the sole reason for my upgrade a few months ago. Money well spent IMO.

Well, it arrived yesterday, less than 18 hours after ordering-a new Amazon record for our house. I read on it all day to day and must say I really love it! I like the warm light feature so when reading during the night, it not a shining bright light, it’s very easy on the eyes, easy to hold, when I switch hands, I flip it upside down so my thumb can be over the page forward button while holding, so that’s really cool. I can definitely recommend the upgrade if you choose to do it. I still love my paper white but will pass that on to my daughter who love it for a few more years.
