So probably not really "fame" but still cool to me!
Yesterday I had to take DD14 for her monthly infusion at the Children's Hospital. I have heard nothing but good things about the newest book that Dan Rather wrote "What Unites Us". I ordered the Nook version and had it all ready to go for my boring waiting time during her infusion.
Lately I have gotten sucked into Twitter. I posted a tweet about being ready and excited about reading Rather's book. Of course I @ DanRather on my tweet. hehe
He retweeted me!! I know, I know, not all that big a deal but I still thought it was pretty cool!!
BTW, if you haven't read it yet, the book is really good so far (I'm about 1/2 done, it's a really easy read)!!

So nice that he not only appreciated your comments, but let you know that he did. Also nice to hear about any tweets that are pleasant, and not demeaning to anyone.

How nice. I grew up listening to Dan Rather give the news on a Houston station (KTRH), and then he made the big time. Several times he was invited to give the opening address at the state librarian's convention so I was able to see him again there.
I'd be all excited about a tweet from him as well.

Thanks Peas! It might seem silly to most, I just got a little thrill to be "acknowledged" by someone like Dan Rather! LOL

That is cool. A couple years ago Willie Geist replied to one of my Tweets and I was so excited.

That's pretty darn cool! I got rather geeked once just because a relative of the British Royal family once liked one of my comments on her IG post.

Oh, I can understand your thrill. A number of years ago Garrison Keillor did a summer tour around the country basically doing Prairie Home Companion at local theaters. I went to see it and Sara Watkins was going to be performing that night with the show. I tweeted that I couldn't wait for the show to get started and that I was especially looking forward to hearing Sara. She replied to my tweet telling me that I would just have to wait until they were ready to start the show. I felt the same excitement you felt and she's not even as well known as Dan.

I would’ve been ecstatic! Dan Rather is becoming quite the twitter phenomenon! You must be a twitter phenomenon by proxy! Enjoy the few minutes of fame!

Dan Rather was born in 1931. Twitter was born in 2006. If he had somehow, though some time travel, read, “I’m so excited! Dan Rather retweeted me!” before 2006, I wonder what he would have guessed it meant.

I follow Dan Rather and I saw his retweet of you! I'll be honest that the reason I remember it is because I did not realize anyone still had a Nook. I thought they had been discontinued.
