I have SO many masks - masks I've made myself, masks others have made, N95 masks, etc. Not one - ZERO - slips constantly under my nose.
What on earth is with all these people whose masks are constantly slipping? It's making me crazy. I tried talking with one for 20 mns and no slipping. I was helping my ex pick up a rental car the other day and the guy who was sweet as could be, had a mask that every 5 seconds fell off his nose. Everyone I see on TV has the same problem. Why is this so damn difficult?!

Not wearing them correctly to begin with probably plus poor fitting. Ours don't slip.

Mine slips sometimes. Wearing it 8 hours a day while talking to people or on the phone, yeah it sometimes will slip down under my nose, not constantly just every once in awhile. . I also have a smaller face so I’m sure that’s a contributing factor, I’m careful not to pull it down under my chin or do anything to stretch it out. Of course I pull it back up right away, but yes it can happen.

Some masks I’ve bought (not the ones I’ve made) slip upward into my eyes. I probably need to twist the elastic for a better fit.

My homemade masks do not slip on my nose. If anything, they creep up and the top edge will hit my lower eyelid impacting my vision. I just wiggle it down and it’s fine.
When I wear the disposable ones, they are forever slipping. Even though I constantly repinch the nose part, they always slip off my nose. I hate it!!!

I also have the opposite problem- where they creep up to my eyes. My bff just gave me one she bought for me that her coworker had made (because the fabric was so me). That thing is my favorite yet! The design is slightly odd looking but I don’t care- it doesn’t slip up towards my eyes and it is pushed out from my mouth. I ordered more from her for Dh and I.
I think the nose slippage is from people that constantly pull them down over their nose and then they get stretched out so that happens sometimes even when they don’t intend it to.

The people I see most often with slipping masks tend to be wearing the more "cupped" styles. I think if those don’t fit your face and specifically your nose as well, they tend to slip off.
I had one fabric mask on for just a few minutes and it just wasn’t right so I switched back to the pleated surgical style with the nose strip that can be molded into shape. If those slip, it’s most likely upwards instead of down.

I've noticed there are 2 stores near me that have this issue with their employee masks.

I think in most cases, adjusting the ear loops to fit a little more snugly would solve the problem. But the folks who constantly wear their mask below their nose and say that it’s “slipping” probably don’t care to take the time to do that.

I think the nose slippage is from people that constantly pull them down over their nose and then they get stretched out so that happens sometimes even when they don’t intend it to. That may be true for some but not everyone. I never pull mine under my chin, certainly never under my nose! If I take it off for a quick drink I unhook it from one ear and let it dangle from the other (it’s a very attractive look 😆). Some people, like me, just haven’t found the perfect unicorn of a mask yet.

The masks are too big or not properly worn.

I have no nose (well, I do but it’s small) and I never have a slippage issue. My masks are all made by me and have elastic and a nose wire.
My glasses don’t stay on well without a mask on but with one, they are CONSTANTLY falling off!

I have a small round face and a small nose. The homemade masks tend to ride down on me and the store bought masks tend to ride up on me, to the point that I have a hard time seeing.
I’m constantly fiddling with my mask, and I know I shouldn’t but otherwise the mask is either covering my eyes or down below my nose. I wish I could sew so that I could make one that fits my face perfectly.

I have some that were too big and they slip but I just don’t wear them. My older boys and Dh wear them and they fit fine. I apparently ha e a smaller face and the disposables for kids work best with my glasses. But None of the ones that I wear regularly slip. Do my glasses fog up? Yes. But they don’t slip. I talk quite a bit for work as well. It really shouldn’t be hard for people to find masks that fit properly.

My big head/face is finally paying off. No slippage! My husband has a huge head and his mask never slips. If I grab one of his by accident it slips off my nose AND rises up under my eyes.

A couple of mine slip, they probably don’t fit right. I just tuck the top under my glasses so my nose isn’t hanging out.
I believe that if noses are out then it’s on purpose. They want their nose out because it’s ‘easier to breathe’. They don’t care at all that it’s completely ineffective. They aren’t ballsy enough to not wear the mask but they don’t care and just want to have their noses out to breathe. It’s a fuck everyone else I’m going to do what I want but I’m pretending I’m complying so you leave me alone.

I grabbed one the other day before heading out the door and when I got to the store (still sitting in my car) to put it on it totally fell down my nose! I had a heck of a time trying to get it to stay on my nose. Finally had to twist the ear loops, get my beanie to fit over that and then my eye glasses on. I think if I didn't have my beanie to help hold loops in place, I wouldn't have been able to get my glasses on too. I guess I have oddly small ears to keep it all in place? I've never had that happen before and they have nice elastic and a metal nose piece (these are not handmade ones). I think the ear loops are getting stretched out from wearing and washing so many times at this point. We don't even go out often or wear them for long periods of time. I pulled it out of rotation for now, but will be checking fit before I head out the door next time. Lesson learned!

I have some masks that slip off when I talk. If I’m silent, they’re perfect, stay put no problem. If I talk, they slip down off my nose, I’m constantly pulling the mask back up. I am starting a music teaching sub job next week and I put on my masks and tried to sing... they slip down. I will have to try and find some that stay in place.

I think there’s a good percentage of that slippage that is NOT an accident.

I can relate. I have different designs that I made and bought, and the Olson ones fall down and the pleated ones ride up into my eyes. If I twist the elastic on the disposable pleated ones then they don't ride up but they're tighter and they hurt my nose and ears. If I wear ear savers then my ears are OK but my nose hurts after a few hours. You can't win.

I have had no problem with slippage ever since I started wearing these origami masks link from a seller on Etsy. I also use the elastic adjusters (although I got those from Amazon).

I bought some from Old Navy that were kind of big for me and had to stitch the sides of them to make them more fitted.
