On several threads people have suggested getting puzzles for gifts or as a holiday activity for the family.
Zulily has puzzles right now, pretty good selection and prices. Yes, they won't ship for three weeks or more, but still time to get them for the holidays.
I bought a murder mystery one for the family, although it is really for me. Shhh!

Bought one from them back in March. Took ages to get here and it is VERY poor quality. Barely cardboard. Maybe these are a different supplier but I would be wary

I also ordered early in the lockdown. I don't know if the ones you are looking at are the same manufacturer. They took weeks to arrive and he quality was terrible. They were the thickness of copy paper and the puzzle pieces would not look together. I sent them back, and after restocking fees, I lost about 25% of what I spent. I am still sitting on a credit with Zulily. Never again. I would just caution Buyer Beware. On the other hand, I have been stockpiling puzzles from Joanns with 50% coupons. (I am preparing for the next lockdown.)

Yikes, I am going to count myself lucky with the ones I ordered from Zulily. I ordered a bunch in late August and they arrived almost a week earlier than expected. The Real Tree and Springbok brands that I have opened were decent quality, I haven’t opened the one from Cobble Hill yet though, it’s a gift for someone. Hope it’s okay too.

Cobble Hill and White Mountain tend to be good quality puzzles. Other brands are a crapshoot - some good, others awful.

We stocked up on quite a few this spring during lockdown. Tempted to find a few more for this winter. Currently eying this one... Ravensburger puzzle

Serious Puzzles is a great place to buy puzzles. They have lots of name-brand puzzles as shown in the picture above. I just received an order from them (stacking-up for the winter) and it arrived the next day.

I love Cobble Hill puzzles ! The pieces actually have a slight texture; really nice.

DH spilled a beer and some of the pieces got wet. It peeled into 3 layers and I was able to glue it back together no problem.

Maybe these are a different supplier but I would be wary There are quite a few shady sellers on Amazon from China whose puzzle pictures look like some of the brand names like Ravensburger, Buffalo, Eurographics, White Mountain & Cobble Hill but, when the shipment arrives, it’s a knock-off. Thin as paper as you mentioned. I got stuck twice before I caught-on. I reported it to Amazon but they didn’t even care. I did end up getting my money back from the sellers.

Love the Buffalo puzzles and Aimee Stewart designs. Just be careful of which seller you buy from. Some use those same pictures and what you get in the mail is imported from China and are fakes.

White Mountain Puzzles is having a Black Friday sale: buy 3, get 1 free. It has been going on for a couple of days, so stock is running low, but if you are looking for puzzles, it is worth looking at: www.whitemountainpuzzles.com/

Galison has 30% through Sunday and their puzzles are great quality! GalisonI was in Anthropologie and they had some really unique puzzles and they are also 30% off. These are really nice and come with a glass jar, a tube of puzzle glue, a straight edge tool, and are packaged nicely - they would make a perfect gifts! Jiggy for Anthropologie (Scroll down for the larger size)

Anatolian Puzzle is also 30% off, and their quality is amazing. But I just checked their site and the selection is limited.
I also ordered from Galison at 30% off, and orders after discount over $50 are free shipping.
